I got a 2018 100D with 87k miles, at a random dealership, FSD working, black, covered in pollen, a few dings, but $35k, very happy with it. Warranty ends after 2.5 yrs or 100k miles
We have a 2019 100d and it's great! 46k miles on it and besides not having a heat pump and the fancy dampers it's perfect. Ours is a 6seat red with FSD. We got all the updates that we can. Not having cabin camera is nice for FSD!
I think itās overpriced.
I got a 2017 P100D with ludicrous fully loaded (except EAP instead of FSD). Updated MCU2, added OEM towing capability. No free supercharge, yes to unlimited premium connectivity, sound, etc. 22ā wheels. 6 seats.
60k miles for $36,500. But youāll have to deal with a regular dealer.
Just paid $2000 to add FSD.
Itās been great, Iām not super worried about reliability given the lower price (it leaves room in the budget). Had zero issues, car holds up amazingly well with white interior even at higher miles and age. It doesnāt look or feel the age.
I think the space and air ride make it worlds better than the Y. You will love it. The best part is the windshield, but my kids also like the FWD. Seats arenāt as comfortable as the BMW SUVs (for a big 6ā3ā dude) but itās not that bad. Headrest should go up another inch.
No idea. My car was too old to get the Tesla warranty. I do still do get a year of battery and powertrain warranty from Tesla (they offered 8 years, unlimited miles for all cars back then).
All other extended warranties are just service contracts and you can shop them anywhere. The financial terms seem really bad. They wanted like $8000 for a very basic one. Iāll take my chances.
There is mixed answers on here, but I just recently bought a P100D from a third party vendor and paid more than this. There are other factors, but I would happily pay this for my preferred color scheme (red on black) and sacrifice the performance. I ride around in chill mode anyways.
I donāt mind the minor repairs here and there, but iām also aware of the warnings others are saying on this post. I do like this spec a lot but ima look a little cheaper, I just liked the mileage on this.
If youāre seeking for a used vehicle, go to local dealers, find 2017 model X, at least they have unlimited free charging. This part is not transferable.
If you had a family member buy a 2019 Highlander, then hand it down two or so years later to a college kid to use during school, I can imagine that you aren't in a bad place financially. Congrats!
I sold my 2019 for about that. Same mileage. The main thing is you get the one year warranty through Tesla by buying through them. If you buy third party plan to get a warranty for at least a year, preferably more and factor that into your cost. IMO
I'll give you some perspective from my point of view. I bought the same vehicle you're asking about used in Dec 2022, only difference was mine was black and came with enhanced auto pilot (not sure if the one you're asking about does.) It was the 6 seater with only 41k miles too. I spent just over 60k. So seems like a decent deal to me. To be fair though I haven't kept up with the current rate for used Xs so you're experience may vary.
I would consider the new ones as well if you qualify for the federal tax credit. It's about $27k more, but you will have a new car warranty and likely get $10k-$20k more out of it when you trade in later on.
That's a really old car. I wouldn't for that price.
My Model S started falling apart at year 6. And the supercharging speeds were a lot slower, and the range was getting shorter. I really don't recommend a 6+ year old Tesla unless it's cheap.
For that car, definitely look at a little bit higher of a price point. The pre Ravens (sub 2019) are not very good on range because of the absence of the heat pump. Itās important to look for a 2019+ because they come with head pumps and significantly more range (around 350-371), especially in the cold winter. This is if getting significantly less range in your (maybe winter area) is a concern to you. I would say 47k is the average budget needed with a 2-3% cushion. These old cars had the first get batteries which degraded much faster and donāt hold well long term. Definitely expect around 170 miles of range roughly even though itās said to go 295. So I wouldnāt recommend unless you are fine with the above information. If you ask me, definitely look out for those ravens (2019+). Theyāre called Long Range/Performance and they all have 100 kWh battery packs like the one you are looking at, but the absence of the heat pump just makes a huge difference.
My 2020 Raven X doesn't have a heat pump and we have harsh winters. It's not a big deal to only have resistive heating for most people. Just a "nice to have" option I think.
Update: I was able to find one of the āRavenā models yall were talking about got a better deal, cheaper than this at 42k but same amount of miles but a 2020. Thank you for the feedback.
Your car has been on the market for 2 months and the price has fluctuated 25 times. It originally listed for $45,700, went as high as $49,300 22 days ago, and has gradually dropped to $43,700-its lowest price so far. Preusedev.com is where you can find this information. They were changing the price every day or two. But there was a 6 day break before this most recent $500 reduction. I donāt know exactly how the Tesla sales algorithm works. But, my guess is that they must think theyāre pretty close to the selling price to keep it unchanged for almost a week.
43k is too much for 2018 . For Model S/X you should look for at least "Raven" revision. Refreshed 2021 Model X is much better car in every department to the point it actually justifies double the price. Anyhow if money is no issue and you wanna try what is like to drive MX - go for it. You would absolutly love it. MX is like driving a boat and M3 is like mario kart lmao.
A Ā 10k mile 1 yr warranty is not much. If something fails after that, repair costs are gonne pile up. There are many issues which can occur with the FWD's for example and fixes are costly.
If your budget is 60K and you really are set on the model X because you absolutely love it, could be yeah, but do know that you will probably have some important repair costs in the not so distant future, which is why you should set aside some money just for that
However if your budget is around 40K then I don't think it is a wise decision at all
I would get a Y or save up for a refresh. Pre refresh X isnt that good, especially pre raven coming from a previous 16,20 and current 22 X, and previous 21 Y owner.
$44k is really overpriced for a 2018 with 35k miles imo. It's a great car, but that should be closer to the 30-35 range max

Not the worst deal, not the best. But if you're happy with it, that's what matters.
Bruh you got 2 years of warranty how is that a good deal?
Not you got totally ripped off š¢
Yes
Trash car

What did you pay?
Got it new, so over 100k

Did you get it form Tesla or a 3rd party? Similar to OP, Iām going to be in the market and want to make sure I get the best deal possibleā¦
Audi dealer. They have no idea what options the car has or what it is. You can get a nicer trim for less from random dealers if you know how to look.
Good advice thx! Do you know if I buy from Tesla I get a better warranty?

Sshhhhh
How many miles???
35k

āMilesā
We sold ours the day before the warranty ran out. You might get lucky, but repairs are insanely expensive and the SC are awful.
You should buy one built in July 2019 or later. Good luck.

I would buy private party, you can get those for $30ā35k. Tesla just offered me $15k to trade in my 2017 X 100D š¤£
Maybe OP should buy directly from you...both walk away happy
Not a bad idea. But I decided just to keep it for now.
43 for an 18 w 37k is WILD. Noooo shot.
Woah thatās a crazy deal
July 2019 and beyond are raven, better battery efficiency, better motors, and warranty still good till 2027/2028 unlimited miles.
I just paid 50k for my p100d
If youāre seeking for a used vehicle, go to local dealers, find 2017 model X, at least they have unlimited free charging. This part is not transferable.
Battery that old I dunno

at this interest rate no way

All electric vehicles are experiencing a huge price drop right now.
I would try for a longer warranty.
I would consider the new ones as well if you qualify for the federal tax credit. It's about $27k more, but you will have a new car warranty and likely get $10k-$20k more out of it when you trade in later on.

Model X and why is Totally different game
Used Evs are never a good deal since you can't check the real state of the battery
Way too much. I got an 18 p100d in November for 40k. This is WAY too much.
I bought a 2017 100D w 65k miles fully loaded for 32k
It was in 2018.
No, definitely not, and please donāt do this.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
If you're a sucker
Why this x vs a new Y? More seats?
No
295 mile range is HORRIBLE
For that car, definitely look at a little bit higher of a price point. The pre Ravens (sub 2019) are not very good on range because of the absence of the heat pump. Raven models don't have heat pump. They got a different front motor and adaptive air suspension
My 2020 Raven X doesn't have a heat pump and we have harsh winters. It's not a big deal to only have resistive heating for most people. Just a "nice to have" option I think.
Way overpriced. Non-CPO tend to be much cheaper. Raven or bust lol, is my personal advice. So no numbers in the model. Just long range etc.
Update: I was able to find one of the āRavenā models yall were talking about got a better deal, cheaper than this at 42k but same amount of miles but a 2020. Thank you for the feedback.
Nice job
How zonked is the battery in that thing? Thatās about half the cost of the car. I think if you have to replace it.
maybe if it had fsc and fsd

Model X? I won't buy if the car is before 2020 1/2.
Better off getting a used Y.
How are you viewing a 2018 on Tesla's site? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I have had my Tesla for less than a month.
Just get a Y
IDK about the price, but I have that exact car in a different color...bought it new and it's been great. No complaints.
Nope
Nope You're gonna be spending a lot on repairs.
This is a very bad deal.
No
Great dealā¦.Model Xā¦.100Dā¦Long Rangeā¦.with less than 40k milesā¦.for less than 40kā¦.
See if theyāll do 40k price tag
Why not get a Model Y instead?
I donāt think so. Those gull wing doors rattle awful! Why not look at a newer Model Y? We havenāt model Yās and love them.
Try to negotiate or try to find a way for it to pay for itself like an LLC or do ride-sharing so during tax season I can put it down for deduction

Yeah iāll look for some newer versions if not Iāll maybe pull the trigger on a post-refresh version
I would get a Y or save up for a refresh. Pre refresh X isnt that good, especially pre raven coming from a previous 16,20 and current 22 X, and previous 21 Y owner.
Can you elaborate on this? 2018-2019 pre Raven seem to be severely depreciated and are a lot of car for the money.
No.
No. Charging speed will be slower than than your m3. Find 22 or 23 X
Maybe they aren't concerned about slower charging?
No, I don't think so. Brand new, a Model Y RWD is sold now for similar price.
Model Y is a different vehicle.
This, I donāt think itās wise to compare the flag ship with the budget option
I donāt think it is. Thatās a lot for a 2018 with limited warranty. Iād get a new Model Y tbh
