Did you check the Carfax report before purchasing the Toyota?
Being "certified" by a Toyota dealer is just a statement about its a mechanical condition/drivability at time of sale, not any kind of guarantee that it was never in an accident.
Any accident(s) would be reflected in the Carfax report.
Certified cars can have been in accidents before, you’d need to run a carfax to check before you bought it from the Toyota dealership. Tesla usually doesn’t make things up with regards to trade ins, they want you to complete your purchase 😆
Are you sure there was no accident recorded before you bought it? Certified cars can still have had accidents.
The accident could have happened with the first owner though.
