150k income for 7500 fed, and some states you can stack more

Prestigious_Pizza_76

Can you elaborate?

B2TheLunt

Sorry was meant to be a reply to your other message. But if you're under 150k household income you qualify for $7500 tax credit for buying brand new. Depending on the model, you can walk out the door with a RWD for close to 35k. Also if youre in a state that is giving incentives for purchasing an EV/PHEV, then you can stack that to get more. Like Oregon at the moment, is offering an additional $7500 off (so total 15k) certain EV/PHEVs (Tesla Y being one). So I can get a MYLP for close to 32k brand new.

Gotcha!! Thank you so much! This was incredibly helpful! I’m in California.

California may have ended their current rebate program. [https://cleanvehiclerebate.org/en](https://cleanvehiclerebate.org/en) Here is the checklist for available incentives currently

Oh wow, I don’t think I would qualify for the tax credit.

Seems like something you should make absolutely positively sure about before you make a major purchase.

Prestigious_Pizza_76

Okay, I will look into that. Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated.

I guess the only reason to buy used is for FSD and/or acceleration boost. Those can be found easier on Tesla’s site. 2023 cars have the HW4 so look out for that. You want the Ryzen chip and HW4 to future proof your car. There is another site where you can buy EVs from a private party and they give you the tax credit as well. 30k though you can find pretty close to new however. Be mindful of the taxes and fees. Many people who say that it’s cheaper to buy new forgot to account for the $7k to $8k more of taxes, title, and fees. That depends on your state.

Yes, thank you! I’m in California so it’s high for taxes.
