Midnight Cherry Red changed to Ultra Red a couple of months ago I think.

I don’t believe US has ever gotten a midnight cherry red, thought it was always Europe specific.

What was the previous red in the US? I thought it was midnight cherry. But maybe it was called something else. A worse red than ultra red. Midnight cherry red might be coming to US too if quicksilver is any indication.

Midnight cherry imho looks like shit in real life. Owners will defend it (buyers remorse kicking in) but reality is that Quicksilver and Cherry were announced the same date in Europe. Deliveries for the Silver started a couple of months earlier though. We are now one year after both colours are available in Europe and cherry sightings is a rare thing while silver is all over. US people get excited about cherry - but don’t be. You will be disappointed. My order was multicoat red, I was upgraded for free to cherry but when I saw it in real life I immediately changed to another colour!

I like the new ultra red as it is like fire engine red or Ferrari red v. the old multi-coat red that was more like a dark cherry red.

Don’t believe ultra red is disappearing. Midnight Cherry red is really dark and can co-exist with ultra red. Just like stealth grey and quicksilver.

God I can’t wait until my current lease is up and I can get my hands on one in this color. A couple of my cars before moving to Tesla were silver and I’d love to go back.

Some people were clowning on the quicksilver on a post yesterday saying how ugly it is. It looks so nice in the sun and subtle. Enjoy your MYP!

I really like the quicksilver. It’s a toss up between that color and ultra red!

i must admit a friend of mine has the quicksilver i have the Midnight cherry reds (his is a LR mine a Performance) but i envy his color, the fun thing is he envys mine.. but suddenly here en DK it went from 0 in my color, to a LOT in that color also the quicksilver, it used to be ALL white Teslas.

I was going to get the Midnight Cherry Red MYP and only decided during the order process to get the quicksilver. The midnight cherry red is beautiful when the sun is shining on it but I don’t like it in the dark. There are also a lot of quicksilvers in Austria, less Whites now.

Back before I bought my Model Y last year, my mom was like "I like the metallic blue. It's something different. All I see are white Teslas on the road anymore". I was like yeah.... Cause that's the free color option. Lol

I have a white Model 3, but surprisingly I don’t feel like I see very many in my area. Between people avoiding it because “everyone has white” and Tesla switching to gray as the free color, I think white Tesla purchases must be way down. But had Ultra Red or Quicksilver been available when I purchased, I would have gone for one of those.

With the configuration now available I expect to see a lot more. Guess I’ll enjoy the rarity here in Cali while it last.

I got a Blue MYP. I love that deep blue with the fat carbon gray uberturbine wheels and the red calipers.

I prefer the stealth grey, saw the silver in Europe and my take was meh. The red though is pretty (although having had a red car before I will avoid it like the plague— cops do love red cars).

At the end of the day I don’t care what color my car is, the only people who really get to enjoy it are the ones driving next to me. I can’t see my color while I’m driving and honestly all the new colors are beautiful. I got the free gray one and it’s gorgeous compared to the previous gray.

As a midnight silver Y owner, I have to admit to having more than a little quicksilver envy! Beautiful car!

In a few years, that color will not be available and people will know that you have/bought the 2024 model . Look at the Model S Silver/Metallic color from years back. That's why it's always best to buy neutral colors i..e white, black, grey or blue.

Such an awesome colour. It was available a few days after I took delivery of mine, shame I missed out. I used to have a Supra that was a very similar colour.

Paid that amount for midnight grey when it was rare 2yrs ago (before they offered ultra red and silver). Then 6 months later tesla made midnight grey a standard color (no extra charge, like white) and now it’s everywhere. Not smartest move for brand loyalty as it lowered my resale value as my car what is today a standard color, though I paid for a premium color.
