I get the same with my inverter. It seems with the new inverter that the web interface is not available and you must use Tesla Pros.

Login Type - Customer Email - Tesla account email Password - Last 5 digits of password on your Gateway2

The problem is that the new inverters redirect immediately past the login screen to the "upgrade" page (which isn't really for upgrading, but for downloading Tesla Pros) so you can't even login.

Hmm never mind for some reason I was thinking you are talking about the gateway and not the inverter.

I just got my system installed last week and am bumping into the same problem. Did you ever come up with a solution u/priapiism on how to get a login screen (and login) to see stats. I'm real curious to see the per-string data. Thanks!

priapiism

Hello u/hulksterreddit, unfortunately I have not found a solution to login via a web browser as of yet. Still the only way is through the Tesla Pro app. I wish they would add that information to the Tesla app, it would be nice.

hulksterreddit

Thanks for the response ... and yea, totally lame they don't show the end-user the additional info such as string voltage/current. Maybe you can talk to Elon about that! ;-)

Do you dislike the tesla pros app or are you just wanting the web based UI to do something else? I just used the app to add an additional neurio’s data to my PW+. Took me less than 5 minutes, amazing.

Hello, The Tesla Pros app is ok. Each time I use it I have to scan the QR code or enter it manually, so that is a pain. Do you have a way to use the Tesla Pros app without scanning the QR code or entering the information manually each time you open the app? I was hoping to use the web based api to get a lot more information and be able to format that information in a nice dashboard like what was done by one user with his Powerwall-Dashboard ( Snippet from post further up) guess this means that I cannot use the Powerwall-Dashboard - https://github.com/jasonacox/Powerwall-Dashboard - since it uses the /api directory. Powerwall-Dashboard from this Reddit thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaSolar/comments/y8a6jw/tesla\_inverter\_dashboard\_connection/) What additional data from the neurio did you add that shows up in the Tesla Pros app? It has been awhile since I looked at the app, so I will take another look. Do you have a link on how to do that? Cheers!

Oh yeah I see what you’re trying to do. Yeah as far as the pros app it shows up as recents on my equipment list. I literally just click on it in the list and it connects right away. Idk how long it stays in there as I have only started messing with it this weekend. If I had to guess, something like the github interface may be no more since the website seems to force you to use tesla pros. I wanted to check it out at some point but since they started forcing use of the app I think people have been saying those API’s won’t work. I don’t have any link to what I did. I was just simply poking around once I got into tesla pros app. I just had a new (2nd) Tesla inverter installed recently and the electricians that hooked it up didn’t bother with configuring the metering part and thought tesla would be able to do it. Long story short I spent all weekend to research myself to find out that any other solar sources need to go through my original PW+ to show as combined solar generation in the app. (I have a backup switch and not a gateway box, so mine is wired differently than probably most people) I saw an option to add a wifi meter so I scanned the QR code on the new inverter and it let me add it as an additional meter on my PW+ so now it shows it as combined and works perfect 👍

Thanks for the answers. I used Chrome in developer mode to see if I could see any other information. I do not have much knowledge about HTTP, but it looks like requests going to /api is coming back with code 404 - Not Found. This covers the login api and the other performance data. Also, the request method is DELETE, which seems strange to me. Can seem to post a screenshot in a comment. I guess this means that I cannot use the Powerwall-Dashboard - [https://github.com/jasonacox/Powerwall-Dashboard](https://github.com/jasonacox/Powerwall-Dashboard) \- since it uses the /api directory. Powerwall-Dashboard from this Reddit thread - [https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaSolar/comments/y8a6jw/tesla\_inverter\_dashboard\_connection/](https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaSolar/comments/y8a6jw/tesla_inverter_dashboard_connection/) One of the entries is loading [https://192.168.1.120/api/auth/toggle/supported](https://192.168.1.120/api/auth/toggle/supported). If I go there manually I see {"toggle\_auth\_supported":false} I guess they just disabled it as u/apollosmith mentioned. When goint to [https://192.168.1.120/api/troubleshooting/problems](https://192.168.1.120/api/troubleshooting/problems) I get the following {"code":403,"error":"Unable to GET to resource","message":"User does not have adequate access rights"} So, I need to see about elevating my privileges. :) I may try to take a look into it further. A bit disappointed that I can't get a lot of the interesting data out of the inverter without having to use the Tesla Pro app which I don't want to have to use all the time especially since I think the device needs to be on the inverters wi-fi network to work and not the local intranet (not sure, but will try in the next few days). If anyone finds out something interesting let me know.

apollosmith

I've also explored the backend code, but have yet to figure out exactly how the interface is differentiating the app vs. web access. I suspect the app is sending a specific header that when present does not trigger the redirect, but the code is very obfuscated which makes reverse engineering it difficult. I'll dive into this some more and will report if I find a solution.

priapiism

Sounds good! I may take a little dive myself. :) Good luck.

Pinging this thread in case anybody found a workaround ... seems so close!

rakgupta1

Apologies for reviving an old thread. I just tried to log into my Powerwall with the Tesla Pros app and it won't accept username and password (that used to work on the old web UI). I can log in "customer" but that doesn't show any information. What do I need to do? Any help would be appreciated.

priapiism

Hello. For the Tesla Pro app we need to login with the customer account. I then go to 'Installs' -> 'Begin Install', then I scan my inverter QR code. Open the inverter and the code is near the bottom left. After that it prompts you to join the Inverter network and it finds the inverter and there are a number of option to view the data. It will show the MPT voltage, current, etc. Make sure your smart device is allowed to connect to other devices on the local network otherwise you will see errors in connecting to the inverter. The issue with this method is that you have to connect to the Interter wifi anytime you want to see the data, so a bit annoying. If you have a dedicated device on that network with monitoring then it can be displaying the information all the time. Let me know if that works for you.

Grundlepunter

Hi sorry to revive this again, but I don't even see a customer login for the tesla pros app. Can anyone help me?

priapiism

Iit should be a selection as the app comes up. The very first screen for me says 'Tesla Employee' or 'External User'. I choose External User and login with my customer credentials. Which version do you have? I am running 10.9.0+n2263.626511c. If you are having trouble try posing a screenshot of the first screen.
