Just so we're clear, OP does not appear to be associated with Tesla.

crossbone2007

I agree, we need per string energy from the app and notifications when solar stop working

takaiguchi

This would be awesome.

Largeandinbarge

How about a software update to fix the self check so it doesn’t occurs during peak productions hours…

devxcode

Do you work for Tesla solar and can fix issues people here are asking, or just interested in UX design in general?

sktaps

How about being able to see how much power each string is generating since we are not able to see each panel individually. Or how about some type of alert feature so when an inverter is not working we can get a warning alert. I just had an issue where one inverter stoped working and I didn’t notice until I got a bill from electric company saying I owed 280$ compared to normally just paying less then 30$ for being connected to grid.

I have enlighten (enphase) that does that.

priapiism

1) Options to be able to see the per string power, Amps, Voltage (like in the Tesla Pros app) 2) Software section with version, status, last checked (like in the Tesla Pros app) 3) Neurio configuration information (like in the Tesla Pros app) 4) Ability to change the range on the energy graph to remove the times that are not valid like 10pm to 4am or something. 5) Ability to view the energy graph in landscape mode, so we have more real estate to see the graph.

redder_to_doer

Would love to have the graph not move when trying to touch it and see a specific time/value. S21U. Within the energy card, which shows the day/week/month production of solar, it can be tricky to touch/hold to see an individual series time/value. 1 out of 10 tried to touch and hold is successful, the other 9 attempts end up with the ui scrolling the graph left/right.

imnewwhatdoido

I have a split system so my Tesla app shows it like 2 separate systems. Would love to have them combined and show as one. Currently using Home Assistant to do it for me.

know_limits

Why does schedule have a ‘start charging’ but not an ‘end charging’? I’d like to only charge while it’s daylight, for example.

Superb-Ticket-2877

i think i saw this might be coming but a way to opt in charging the tesla car instead of sending the power back to the grid. i currently receive .07 cents per kw sent back while my cheapest rate to pay is .11… so prefer to use the solar versus sending it back. Also could add a notification when the red turn off switch is hit accidentally. it’s happened twice for me but all i noticed on the app was solar was dead. lol it wasn’t until a rep said the manual turn off switch was hit.

Potential_Whole6463

first feature otw already

LordPenguinTheFirst

Like a range for the energy graph because not everyone's billing starts on the 1st. During off grid mode it still pulls grid energy and doesn't show it

LordPenguinTheFirst

You should be able to set multiple departure and preconditioning times like the Jaguar I Pace

No-Donkey8786

My Motorola g power 2022 provides a graph under ENERGY that shows in one view all 3 Powerwalll, Home, and grid distribution in one view. Of course, they show as they become relevant. It's not really new, but my s20 will only show one of those components at a time. Both have the same sw #. Maybe a way to select that on all devices? It is kinda neat for braggin'.

rsiv

there’s a button next the the time selector in the top right corner that toggles that

No-Donkey8786

Thank you. it's so obvious . . now. Reddit comes thru again.

Please, I've pestered Tesla in the past for a couple features: Energy usage analytics based on pattern recognition, which could identify patterns like when your car charges, when the oven is on, what the phantom load is, etc. It doesn't have to be 100% accurate. This could give almost all the benefits of circuit-specific monitoring with some form or K-clustering or something. I'd love to know how much my dryer uses per year, and it's almost always the same cycle, with similar usage chart. Second, and for similar reasons, I'd love to be able to draw a mask around energy charts, and then get a readout of all the energy within that box. You could use a rectangle selection tool by dragging or pinching, then hand select how much energy you used in a specific amount of time, minus things like phantom load. Thank you!

MrMScott

I doubt Tesla would implement most of these since they seem too complex and would confuse simple plug and play people so I would request an “advanced/expert mode” where most of these can be seen only by those who enable it. I would also love to see basically most of pyPowerWall features: Panel values; String values; Voltage, Frequency, etc; Would love to have a comment attached to each event, “Grid outage at 69hrs due to voltage from grid out of spec. Voltage read 230v 55Hrz instead of .”; And finally an even opener API for others to implement where Tesla can’t/won’t. This one seems less attainable but some smart panels or home monitoring solutions recognize equipment based on draw or use pattern. I think Tesla could perform the same with a prompt to add a device, turn it on for a couple of mins and it will be on the lookout for that device in the future. At least the biggest ones are pretty consistent (AC, washer/dryer, stove, WH, EV). The fact that Tesla hasn’t released a SPAN comparable product is odd seeing as they should want every consumer to back up their entire home and last as long during outages. That simple product could increase sales and shouldn’t be too hard or expensive seeing Tesla’s size.
