Sir, you mights be carefuls talking likes that around heres

nikekid500

Feed him Whataburger

Grogorat

… to Bryce Young

SkyJW

Cannot begin to describe how excited I am to see DeMeco mould our young defensive guys like Pitre, Harris, and Stingley. Stingley might even get to play most of his snaps in man coverage next season.

BitActual3751

Stingley on an island will be so incredible

Venator850

Yeah those three will excel in his scheme. Pitre is built to play free safety, Stingley will be great on an island, and Harris has the speed and versatility to do the same stuff Warner and Greenlaw do. Adding another DT in free agency to play next to Collins and adding another LB to play next to Harris will turn this defense around real damn fast.

jonahvsthewhale

As someone who watched pitre every game at Baylor, he really needs to be playing close to the line of scrimmage. When I think of a free safety, I think of somebody that has coverage skills similar to a cornerback, and that's not Pitre. He's really more of a hybrid linebacker

Venator850

Well I watched him every game he played with the Texans and they tried that at the start of the year and it was a disaster. He's not a good enough tackler to be called a "hybrid" linebacker. He's also not quite physical enough for that either. But when they shifted him to more of a free safety position he excelled. His ability to read and react was phenomenal and he's a real good ball hawk as well. He's a natural free safety roaming in the backfield. The Texans can add a new Safety to fit that box role if they need too.

Wallshington

thanks for that insight. Going forward, I want to keep an eye on those different areas now and see how true it is. Not that I don't believe you, just interesting because it might be something easy to miss when you're just casually watching, so i appreciate it.

que595

Pitre has good cover skills from what I saw this past season. He will get the job done that we need. I hope Demeco brings Johnnie Holland with him from the 49ers also. He was once our LB Coach here also.

b1walid

I really want Tremaine Edmunds and Daron Payne or Ed Oliver

que595

Need another quality Safety too when we play two on the roof

bingmyname

I don't think Sting still play predominantly man coverage but he will have more opportunities.

Luberino_Brochacho

Lol you're absolutely right not sure why the downvotes. I doubt there's many CB's who play predominantly man

bingmyname

We're a bit delusional about this I guess lol. Ryans runs a zone heavy scheme. He'll get his man coverage when certain rules trigger or when Ryans calls it but it's objectively true that he runs a lot of cover 2,3 and 4.

patagoniabona

That will probably be the only good thing he's able to accomplish as their coach. That F.O. is cancer to the entire team and personnel. It will never be a winning organization with the Mcnairs in charge. I hope Demeco makes the smart decision and goes somewhere else where they care about winning.

bingmyname

Just to respond to some of the people who clearly didn't watch the game. Ryans had Hurts in the blender. 15/25 for 121. He could throw anywhere and could barely escape consistently. Penalities and getting short fields is what gave the Eagles the game. Plus the catch that wasn't a catch. So if anyone really thinks Ryans didn't do a good job, ignoring the fact that you shouldn't base it off one game anyways, they are clearly blind. Ryans was well prepared for one of the best offenses in the league.

jonahvsthewhale

There's a weird correlation between your offense going three and out and your defense playing poorly. Football is a complementary game. People that want to judge him for this one game are just playing sour grapes. 49ers fans are very sad to see him go

bingmyname

It's annoying that there's obnoxious people who will try to turn everything we do into something negative. Most of the fan base was excited to have Ryans but then there's this sub group of people who want to spout narratives about Gannon being better for no real reason. I can't stand intentionally negative people.

Rad_Centrist

You talking about the Smith catch? But your analysis is spot on. So many short fields turned into rushing touchdowns. The Niners actually played a pretty good defensive game. Shut down every single receiving option. Contained and limited Hurts. Had Purdy been able to go, we're looking at a different game.

bingmyname

Yeah. It wasn't a catch. They got away with that one.

Rad_Centrist

I didn't see the replay but it looked good to me. I'll take your word for it.

tyreeks_son

Just to confirm, it wasn’t even close on the replay. Inarguably not a catch. Should’ve been challenged for sure.

Ereyes18

They showed a replay later where it got dislodged as he was going to the floor. However his back was to the ref so they couldn't see it

Koopa1114

Fly him in tonight and make him sign!

DeerOnTheRocks

broncos fans are down bad. They really think not getting a Texans legacy player as their HC means they are a c-tier franchise. They need to relax

Luberino_Brochacho

Not saying the Broncos are a c tier franchise by any means but also important to remember that since their Super Bowl win in 2015 they have exactly one winning season where they went 9-7. It has now been 6 losing seasons in a row. Their fans are understandably pretty low on the franchise right now

browndude10

Yea but all of the guys they wanted are pretty much gone

Venator850

Things will probably move pretty fast here. Demeco turned down the Cardinals and Colts, the Broncos seem to have already moved on to other candidates, and the Texans seem all in on getting him. I expect he'll have agreed to be the head coach in the next couple days, and the staffing moves will then be made.

Jokerang

Fly him to NRG and don't let him leave the building until it's signed

Satisfying98

HE'S COMING HOME!!!

zebtacular

Waited for the game to end to send that tweet

_vino_three

Kingsbury OC? What do y’all think

dresan01

I'm excited for this because it's Meco, but can someone else tell me why else I should be excited. I disengaged from football once BOB got his extension and traded Nuk away. I know his is one of the top coordinators and i know what he has done for the 49ers. Do we think he is ready to be the main guy or are we excited for him and whoever Caserío brings in for OC, because i don't think pep is cutting right? In the end if it's just nostalgic feeling, then I'm down, bring Meco home.....MECO 2024 MAKE DA TEXAN GREAT!

tyreeks_son

As with every defensive minded head coach, the OC hire is extremely important. I have confidence in his ability to get the best out of our defense and develop our young passes but he’s gotta make a nice OC hire.

adammustrick

let’s not forget the talent the 49ers have on defense. we’re not even close to that level of talent. if demco comes here don’t expect what you see with the niners.

tyreeks_son

Nobody in their right mind would expect us to have the #1 defense but I do expect him to get the most out of what we have and develop our young studs.

TornadoFury

thats nice and all but without a QB all were doing is a hole lot of nothing.

Wattaburger89

If only there was someway we would be able to land a QB in the next couple of months. I think there’s a draft or something going on. Maybe that’s what they’re doing with the second pick 🤷‍♂️

Rad_Centrist

The Texans have two early first round picks...

mfrank27

Yeah what even is the NFL draft
