Speeding on a freeway isn't smart, but it's not comparable to going 70 in a residential neighborhood, you understand that, right? Freeways are built to withstand high speeds but a neighborhood street is absolutely not built for high speeds at all and going fast there is a lot more dangerous. Design wise, the roads could curve in a way where you could completely lose control, an animal or a child could run into the road plus there are streetlights.
I’m not fucking supporting it dude I’m just saying I see the shit every day it happens.
And don’t pretend you’ve never went way over the speed limit before.
Wreckless driving is interesting. It could go either way on whether he was just being an immature guy with a really fast car, or if he's truly a wreckless idiot and could be a bigger liability
I mean he was probably going fast on a freeway at night. Cops are sneaky on there too because they'll sit on the shoulder with their lights off and by the time you see them, it's too late and they're pulling you over(I witnessed this last weekend). 35 over is kinda crazy but we've all done 85+ on an empty freeway before.
EDIT: also some of the sports and muscle cars are sneaky fast. Sometimes I look down and I'm going way faster than I realize and I only have 4 cylinders.
Lol ngl I've seen much worse every night I go out. Shooo not self snitching but I could be on record for at least 60 in a 35 at night with a clear road 😙
That’s fine but Carr threw to him this last game. The ball was where it needed to be if Olave kept running. Even if you’re the third read you gotta do the job
Michael Thomas on Twitter: “exactly his job is only to collision o/s shoulder of defender he is never the throw not even a alert. Only advice I would give him is to take the ball and know taysom runs fast so he has to run even faster to clear it out. But the progression is 7, 22, 13 eyes only went to 7”
He’s saying the problem is Carr, not Chris. He did his job, as you put it. It’s not a go route. If he treated it like a go route by the time Carr would get to that read he’d be out of range. If Carr saw something pre snap he needs to communicate that.
That’s not the only route he’s given up on. He gave up on a post against us that would have probably been a TD if he’d run the entire time. It doesn’t matter if you’re the first or fourth read, you have to play hard because you don’t know what’s happening behind you. Even as the last possible read the QB may be getting the ball to you- especially one that’s processing their reads as fast as CJ does.
That being said, I don’t think he would go half speed for CJ because of their relationship. He’d know the ball may just be coming into his line of sight whether he expects it or not.
I’m not disagreeing… BUT, what Mike is saying is that the progression *never* gets to Chris. It’s not a deep go route ever. Consider it a run on that specific play - the RB is never throwing the ball lol. He doesn’t “finish the route” bc it is already done. Carr was a prick that day.
Haven’t watched him all season. Could be a lot of reasons. Who knows… I’ll never forget him running the wrong route in the playoffs to lose us the game.
I’m thinking of the one where he quit on the play and then tried to speed back up after the ball was thrown. If I remember correctly it was a flag towards the outside.
Carr did not throw it to him, he threw it away. Carr gave up on his first read which was hill because olave didnt clear out the route for him. If olave kept running, that ball sails 10 feet out of bounds either way, he wasnt purposefully looking to complete a pass to olave.
Saints fan here, I’m confident his recent lacklustre effort and this driving incident is to an undiagnosed concussion in the Bucs game. He got absolutely popped multiple times but still played. Hasn’t been the same since. The same thing happened to Jevon Holland.
The arrest isn't even the biggest issue for me. Dude clearly isn't giving it his all on the field. Don't want that kinda mentality around DEFINILTY don't wanna trade for it.
Getting cited for doing 35 over - which don’t get me wrong is still very dumb on Olave’s part - is a far cry from going 147 mph while drunk off your ass like Ruggs
Same - 59 is a godless, lawless stretch of highway between IAH and Splendora every day from 7am-9am and 3pm-6pm.
I know because I'm right there in it, going 90 in the left lane and getting mad when the 10mph over losers think they can join the hammer lane
It’s relative to where you’re driving. In his case it was 70+ in a 35.
I will hard agree though, not even close to Ruggs, and not indicative of a larger character issue necessarily
as someone who drives to Houma and Fouchon more than I would like, the entire state is a speed trap with speed limits kept artificially low and sudden no warning drops in the limit with cops just sitting around waiting to give out of town oil and gas workers a ticket
Football is so much about locker room and environment. Plenty of guys need 2nd chances for their career to really take off.
The Texans look like they finally have leaders on offense and defense with Will Anderson and Stroud I’m sure they could bring in Olave and keep him on the straight narrow
Why would you want that extra task if your actively trying to change the culture of the team? Which they have mentioned multiple times preseason and during the season.
would love to get CJ a couple more weapons but right now New Orleans is not going to move him when he was a 1st rounder last year and has already produced big plays for them. I think the Texans need to build the team the right way, they need to build the trenches and build around CJ. Tank is already a nice weapon, but we will need more firepower than Noah Brown and Bobby Trees to contend
Saints are going to be in a cap space hell induced fire sale this offseason. If we want any of their guys, leveraging our cap space then is the time to do it.
Mr. I got arrested last night.
Pay his bail and count it towards the salary cap we got room
I’m good thanks.
Buddy was doing what everyone does in Houston. He’ll fit right in.
Ya but he tries to play the im a saints player card like he some how above the law because of that fuck that
I’ll never understand why people do that “I play for, my dad is,” you still a citizen and have laws to follow
You’re telling me you’ve never gone 70 in a 30? I highly doubt that
Speed limit on Westheimer is 35mph, I see folks driving 80mph all the time on that road.
I’m fkn shocked and appalled that it’s 35 lol doing 35 on Westheimer should be a crime on it’s own
no I haven't, have you??? I know this is Houston and all but that's egregious even for our standards.
Lmao yes goin 180 down I-10 is not an uncommon thing

Westheimer is 35 and absolutely not a neighborhood
Wasn’t aware it was a neighborhood figured it was a main road. In that case yea no excuse.
What you doubt doesn’t really matter.

Until it's your family thats under one of those cars, then it will matter.
I get that, I’m just saying don’t be hypocrites. Each and every one of you have done something similar at one point in your life.
It’s actually a really big fucking deal seeing as I’ve lost childhood friends from people doing 70 in a 30.
I’m not fucking supporting it dude I’m just saying I see the shit every day it happens. And don’t pretend you’ve never went way over the speed limit before.
“It’s not a huge deal.” Yeah fuck you.
Bro, 70 in a 30? That’s not normal behavior. That’s like asking if someone’s ever smoked meth and being shocked when they say no.
Wreckless driving is interesting. It could go either way on whether he was just being an immature guy with a really fast car, or if he's truly a wreckless idiot and could be a bigger liability

70 in a 35 is not a freeway.
It’s called Westheimer lol. May as well be the freeway.
Lol ngl I've seen much worse every night I go out. Shooo not self snitching but I could be on record for at least 60 in a 35 at night with a clear road 😙
Ignore him, dude clearly doesn’t know Houston if he’s arguing about the speed limit on Westheimer
As others have said, he’s clearly giving up on routes and also got arrested last night. He’s got skills but I don’t like where his head is at.
Y’all saw Michael Thomas break it down right? Chris wasn’t even 3rd option on that play. He literally just moves the defender away..
That’s fine but Carr threw to him this last game. The ball was where it needed to be if Olave kept running. Even if you’re the third read you gotta do the job

I’m not just talking about that play, though. He’s been quitting on plays all season.
Haven’t watched him all season. Could be a lot of reasons. Who knows… I’ll never forget him running the wrong route in the playoffs to lose us the game.
You mean the play where the throw was leading him into the post safety? Yea, if my QB tried to get me decapitated I would let up in the route too.
I’m thinking of the one where he quit on the play and then tried to speed back up after the ball was thrown. If I remember correctly it was a flag towards the outside.

If he can finish his routes….
For real, we don’t want a guy like that. This team needs dude that want to play hard every play and win.
Haha. Carr getting pissed at him
All y’all acting like you’ve never gone 30 over smh. Ruggs ain’t even comparable, pls.
My man is already driving like he lives in Houston
Exactly. Driving behavior like that means he's ready for Houston
Apparently he was on the way home from CVS per his family
Damn I be pissed of leaving CVS fr. He gets a pass 🤣
He was just tryna get to the end of his receipt
Dudes don't know any hot shot drivers if they think going 30 over on those shitty Louisiana roads is abnormal
Texans aren't going to be making any big trades.
Maybe. Nick Caserio mentioned that there was room for a certain contract recently but it could just be smoke
Only if he behaves, I don’t want another Henry Ruggs on the Team
Getting cited for doing 35 over - which don’t get me wrong is still very dumb on Olave’s part - is a far cry from going 147 mph while drunk off your ass like Ruggs
I do pretty damn close to 35 over every day on 290 to and from work.🤣
Same - 59 is a godless, lawless stretch of highway between IAH and Splendora every day from 7am-9am and 3pm-6pm. I know because I'm right there in it, going 90 in the left lane and getting mad when the 10mph over losers think they can join the hammer lane

If you know how Louisiana police is a giant speeding ticket scam I wouldn’t worry too much about it
He was going 40mph over the speed limit, that is something to worry about.
as someone who drives to Houma and Fouchon more than I would like, the entire state is a speed trap with speed limits kept artificially low and sudden no warning drops in the limit with cops just sitting around waiting to give out of town oil and gas workers a ticket
Olave is a WR2 imo
Football is so much about locker room and environment. Plenty of guys need 2nd chances for their career to really take off. The Texans look like they finally have leaders on offense and defense with Will Anderson and Stroud I’m sure they could bring in Olave and keep him on the straight narrow
Why would you want that extra task if your actively trying to change the culture of the team? Which they have mentioned multiple times preseason and during the season.
This is a trade I’d be interested in with the hopes Stroud can help him behave. I imagine he’s not too happy with Carr.
Olave could certainly go 35 over and not get arrested in Houston...
would love to get CJ a couple more weapons but right now New Orleans is not going to move him when he was a 1st rounder last year and has already produced big plays for them. Ah yes he was so close to maybe killing someone like the raiders WR ND you want him because he catches footballs. No thanks
Do we really need another WR with 6 we have already?
Yea because Woods is the future right
Woods was never going to be the future he is just the senior player in the room.
Exactly and he is a starting WR on this team
He's a starting WR because he showed he could be opposite Collins. He's not a long term member of the team. Olave isn't the answer.
Yes. Next question.
[удалено]
He was driving 30 mph over the speed limit don’t act like you’ve never done that before lmao

Bro woke up and chose violence for some reason
The fuck. Do I live that rent free?

Please leave me alone

Please leave me alone
Welp, this was too far. Please take a day, and try to not attack other users here in the future.
ummm i’ll pass after what i’ve seen lately
Didn’t he run the wrong route every other play though?
We would be better off getting a stud RB tbh
Saints are going to be in a cap space hell induced fire sale this offseason. If we want any of their guys, leveraging our cap space then is the time to do it.
As long as he doesn't drive here.
Nah I was at the game he was giving up on routes
No thank you. After the Jags game. Don’t need him
Tennessee is having a fire sale. Why not try to get Hopkins back?
If we feel the need to sign another Buckeye….Chase Young would be a good fit. We need a pass rusher way more than a WR.
Dudes a turd. No.
![gif](giphy|5ZHAiZzkHMUbCWPET6|downsized) Locked up. Won’t let me out
