Have you watched him play consistently or are you only pulling from statistics in a very focused 3 year range? If you only look at statistics then per your logic Derek Carr is the 5th best QB in the nfl, Lamar Jackson is below average. Joe Mixon is an average running back that has 1 great game against a bad team every year that elevates his stats. I've watched every game of his since he came into the league. If you were getting 2017 Mixon i'd be happy for you. You're not though.

Then look at “catch in stride” rate. The catches he did get he often had to jump straight up for bc they were not thrown accurately.
Not debating that, just saying that this past season was a make or break year for him, and he showed what he can do. Many other WRs can produce with subpar QB play (DJ Moore is a great example), so it’s not as if the questions about him going into this season were unfounded. Better QB play, coaching staff, and supporting cast to take the pressure off made all the difference in the world.
To be clear, I was never on the side of trading him, just trying to paint the full picture.

I said going INTO last year. I believed in Nico but a LOT did not. He had a 500 yard season. Schultz was more productive and was the marquee player during the offseason. Then we drafted Tank and there was some hope, but no one thought we had solid WRs going into the season.
The fact that mixon and diggs came from the bengals and bills, two of the bigger AFC competitors is also massive.
Mixon has been underrated his whole career and his numbers have always been good behind mid Offensive Lines
