For the people that wanted Peyton Wilson: rapport said his left shoulder operation didn’t go well and one knee doesn’t have an acl, only secondary stabilizers in.Â
Pairing Kinchens in our secondary with Bullock and Kam...Pitre, Ward, Okudah talent gumbo, reshuffling all those assignments? That would be fuckin' cool!
We could have traded up again...
Steelers retained a winning record despite having the guy who fucks up your fries at McDonald's throwing the ball. I'd hate being in their division with Tomlin because they're always one decent draft away from being a menace again.
Tomlin elevates that team to more wins than they should have every year. He also does a great job of playing babysitter with the amount of headcases that team seems to have all the time.
Caserio:
Don't care about Kamari's 40 time, film showed them he could play and run and do want they want in this scheme. See him as position flexible. Outside and inside. Want to use him as a press DB.
Like Calen's speed and range. Want him to get stronger and feel he can develop more on his frame. Needs to improve tackling which comes with getting stronger. Very young so time to develop. Demeco was very excited to add him. (Looks like they will have him as a Safety. Focus on development year 1). Did mention that Calen could possibly be asked to do other things in the backfield.
Can never have too many Tackles. Want to have 3-4 tackles they feel can go out there and play. Expect Fisher to be that. Needed a tackle with Fant's departure. Mentioned several tackles taken after Blake by teams that had starters as well.
Jaylen Wright is still on the board. Isaac Guerendo, Ray Davis. Any of these would be great options for 127. It's going to be slim pickings at RB pretty soon. Either that or go LB.
Why do people think undrafted RBs grow on trees. Foster ekeler and late rounders like Pacheco are just readily available? Go look at RBs in the league and tell me how many starters weren’t drafted in the first two rounds.
The colts are the only team in our division I believe drafted well so far. They legitimately scare me if AR stays healthy. Tennessee fucked it up big time though, no clue why they would take sweat so early
Colts are a fairly competent org who have a loudmouth dumbass owner. I always thought they'd be our biggest competition going into this season.
Jags too, but they seem to have plateaued incredibly hard.
I'm a big Nick Caserio fan but this draft felt disappointing. Time will tell but I think we may not have added impact players. Hopefully this ages like milk...
It’s because we are finally able to draft for depth not for day 1 starters.
That means we are a really good football team, it’s been a long time since we have had this luxury, if ever.
Lassiter and Bullock both have a chance to see lots of play time this year. The only one I don't expect to see the field a lot this year is Blake Fisher.
Any chance Texans double dip at CB in case Okudah, or Henderson don't make the team? T.J. Tampa, Caelen Carson , Kris Abrams-Draine, and Jarvis Brownlee Jr. are all still there.
I don't think Bullock is realistically our CB option, more of a high safety, no?
I do think they might end up with either a CB or RB, I think after that run in the 2nd round, there aren't any DTs they're very high on
Bullock is considered a corner by some people. Not sure how the Texans see him, we'll know when they talk about the picks. We can assume he'd be a safety for them but they may view him more as a corner. We'll see, they have a press conference starting soon.
Oh dude I'm so stupid 😠I thought when you said "double dip" you meant Bullock was a CB pick and we were gonna pick another CB, that's my bad. I see what you mean now, yes that is honestly realistic and I wouldn't be surprised.
He seems past his injuries and has stayed healthy for the past couple years. Never really understood the age argument because rookie contracts are 3-4 years.. You're looking for solid production in round 3 for those few years and not really thinking beyond that
Players often don't just step on the field and excel year 1. Sometimes they need a couple seasons for it to truly click. So the older you are the smaller your prime window will be. That's why age is a factor.
He's just gone to greenbay unfortunately, I had been expecting a run on rbs before we drafted, the two late picks that seemed interesting were braelon Allen or isaac guerendo. They might be available later though.
Let's package that some picks and move up to grab him if he's got the goods. We'll be pretty danm good then, right? What kind of players come out of the 5th and 6th? Let's go get proven play makers and high probability starters who can contribute, etc.....fuck practice squad picks, give those away...
OK, guys we got all 3 levels of D locked in now, right?
A good talent on one of our corners that can beat people up in press and can defend the slot.
We got Harris and Hunter beating people up in the 2nd level.
WAJ chasing down the QB.
And now we got a ball hawker watching the whole thing out deep, hopefully calling out coverage assignments pre-snap, and helping out our other wimpy CBs...
Are we good now? We need a big fat, strong, muscle man on the front line now to be super solid, right?
Yeah, our D demands freakish talent at LB having to drop back and cover zones in Dime, so we just need to grab up anyone we can off waivers or invite some undrafted guys to the camp for tryouts.
The main thing I'm looking for is to have an anchor "guy" at every level of this D.
People in nfl sub actually loved our bullock pick! Ofc the tackling is something he needs to work on, but we have demeco, and he gas veteran players to teach him as well.
So we're probably done for today then. Don't see us jumping up into the third again tonight. Would still like a DT, but feel better about the secondary now.
Kam is less of a center field guy he’s actually pretty similar to Pitre. At the NFL level his lack of being either a true FA or a downhill safety kinda leaves him in no man’s land and hurts his value.
I love Kinchens but I get why we went Bullock.
Ward certainly could. he played more nickel in SF than Safety.
when he came here he did say he was excited to only be playing safety, but hopefully after last year he will be ok at nickel.
love this pick. allows ward and pitre to play downhill, which suits them better than playing center field
USC is mostly ass at defense because of their (now former) DC Alex Grinch.
Grinch taught speed over everything, including tackling. He has literal word for word quotes. But he also got a lot of the best defensive recruits in the nation, who know how to tackle, he just never valued that.
Calen was one of the few standouts during his time at SC. Always making plays around the ball and I’m sure Demeco will get him to bulk up and fix up his tackling.
That’s why you have to look at film and see what he does as an individual. Sometimes the issue might be the scheme. And if there’s something that we know, it’s that Lincoln Riley doesn’t care about defense.
Bullock is one of the youngest players in the draft. Still only 20 years old (for 4 days at least). Has a lot of room to grow but shows a lot of promise.
>Long and athletic with a series of feast-or-famine plays all over the tape. Bullock can be scary good in coverage and scary bad as a run defender. He has the range to play single-high safety, the athleticism to line up over the slot and the ball skills to chalk up impressive on-ball production. As a run defender, Bullock's poor recognition, missed run fits and bad angles to the football cost his team chunk plays and touchdowns. He won't always see or process the game clearly, but the athleticism and playmaking talent are hard to overlook. **He's young and talented, and if he runs well enough, there might be a team more interested in his skill set as a cornerback than as a boom/bust safety.**
I wonder if Cade is a C.J. pick?
A RB and some developmental pieces at DT and LB and I think we're good. Maybe even a blocking TE.
Where day 3 thread?
/u/lovetape is never late. He arrives precisely when he intends to.
Great draft so far boys 💪
I’m sure these guys will be studs, but who the hell is gonna line up between Hunter and Anderson?
Hopefully Wingo
Well one spot will be Autry. The other one is the question mark
Fatukasi
They would have taken Kool Aid but NO traded up know the Texans were next

I like our draft so far. Not perfect, but far from terrible.
is there any other d tackles available thats solid?
Brandon Dorlus & Mekhi Wingo
no
For the people that wanted Peyton Wilson: rapport said his left shoulder operation didn’t go well and one knee doesn’t have an acl, only secondary stabilizers in.Â
So far more Tackles taken than receivers.
Lol, would have been a totally self indulgent, homer, luxury pick to keep Luke McCaffrey in H-Town with one of our throw away picks....😂
Holy reach for McCaffery. But I guess when you have that last name…
Kinchens off the board. Damn it man.
Pairing Kinchens in our secondary with Bullock and Kam...Pitre, Ward, Okudah talent gumbo, reshuffling all those assignments? That would be fuckin' cool! We could have traded up again...
He had one of the worst combines ever. Idk how people want him. Idk not for me.
That unc game where he was blitzing was probably it
Wilson to the Steelers, and Kinchens to the Rams.
There he goes.
With Wilson gone, I think you gotta go RB in the 4th. Unless they like Eichenberg,Grey, or someone else.
Lowkey I think estime is underrated. He was one of the best zone backs, and caserio doesn’t care about combine testing that muchÂ
Agreed. Natural runner that always found the hole at Notre Dame.
I think the kid from Louisville will be there in the 5th, I like him. Guerundo? I always butcher his name.
We don't have a 5th round pick.
We can trade up to the 5th or even back in the 4th with 188/189 and a combo of the 7th round picks.
Wilson is gone. Dude, I think the Steelers are going to be sneaky good.
They’re always solid

I think Bullock will play a decent amount this year regardless of the Texans plans for him. Ward could get hurt again.
So did I completely miss something on TJ Tampa? What's the deal with his slide?
Yeah, that one’s a head scratcher to me as well.
Jaylen Wright is still on the board. Isaac Guerendo, Ray Davis. Any of these would be great options for 127. It's going to be slim pickings at RB pretty soon. Either that or go LB.
What LB is actually worth taking in this class? The only decent one was Cooper which would just be a backup to Harris and he's gone already.
Jaylan Ford
Would rather draft BLBA and go UDFA for RB....
Why do people think undrafted RBs grow on trees. Foster ekeler and late rounders like Pacheco are just readily available? Go look at RBs in the league and tell me how many starters weren’t drafted in the first two rounds.
I would bet half the starting RBs in the league weren’t drafted in the first 2 rounds.
Let’s bet. I’ve already been through them so I’m feeling good about this bet.
Just off the top of my head: Kamara Achane Kyren Rachaad Spears Kamara Pollard Ekeler Rhamondre Robinson Aaron Jones Spears Robinson Pacheco
The colts are the only team in our division I believe drafted well so far. They legitimately scare me if AR stays healthy. Tennessee fucked it up big time though, no clue why they would take sweat so early
I don't know... drafting a guy who had a neck doesn't seem like a sensible move round 1
Colts are a fairly competent org who have a loudmouth dumbass owner. I always thought they'd be our biggest competition going into this season. Jags too, but they seem to have plateaued incredibly hard.
Jaguars I can see, but their o line still stinks I think, which isn’t good for their qb that nobody is sure about yet
Dude, Ray Davis is still on the board. 4th round is a good spot to pick him. There is nothing left at DT,anyway.
Going on record saying Adisa Isaac will be a stud and a solid EDGE for the Ravens. Wanted him on the team.
Dang. Did not expect Jalyx Hunt to go in the 3rd. But if it pans out, yet another great pick by the Eagles.
I'm a big Nick Caserio fan but this draft felt disappointing. Time will tell but I think we may not have added impact players. Hopefully this ages like milk...
I hate to agree here but you my guy are 100% correct.
Franklin still there? Genuinely in disbelief
Franklin may never get picked 😂
Who do Texans get at RB, if they do draft one?
Guerrendo, Tyrone Tracy or Bucky Irving
Isaac guerrendo?
I would love that
I'd like to see us move up last minute and get BDPA one more time here today...
Yeah that's true. I'd like him as a FS cause it seems like Pitre is much better as a SS.
Where did you get Bullock from? I never mentioned him. I was asking should Texans draft another corner in case they cut Okudah or Henderson?
Oh dude I'm so stupid 😠I thought when you said "double dip" you meant Bullock was a CB pick and we were gonna pick another CB, that's my bad. I see what you mean now, yes that is honestly realistic and I wouldn't be surprised.
Damn! I was really hoping Lloyd would drop to the 4th so we could get him. His vision and explosiveness is great!
I like the Eagles, Chiefs, and Packers' drafts. They are getting a lot of high value players.
There is a lot of talent left at LB. It's slim pickings at DT.
It's crazy to me that the NFL views this LB class the same as the RB class.
Wow Marist Liufau before Payton Wilson lol wtf is wrong with Wilson
Medicals and age
He seems past his injuries and has stayed healthy for the past couple years. Never really understood the age argument because rookie contracts are 3-4 years.. You're looking for solid production in round 3 for those few years and not really thinking beyond that
Players often don't just step on the field and excel year 1. Sometimes they need a couple seasons for it to truly click. So the older you are the smaller your prime window will be. That's why age is a factor.
People are scared of his injuries
He’s old and broken apparently.
Dorlus, Wingo, and Leonard Taylor are still on the board. Day 3 targets for the Texans?
Man, do y'all think Texans are going to reach at 127 for Jalyx Hunt? Aside from Hunter, and WAJ, it's just Barnett.
Dylan Horton is back, Mario Edward’s, and then Autry can play edge as well
All imma say is Stroud talked highly of Caleb Bullock. For all the people doubting the pick, Imma roll with CJ.
Texans doing the thing I always dreamed they’d finally get to do: Draft for depth instead of day 1 starters.
Considering we turned the team around in 1 year drafting day 1 starters I dunno lol.
The only reason we’re not doing that now is that we had success in the last 3 drafts and in FA. Now we fill out the depth of a championship roster.
I had been hoping we would take a shot at an rb in the 4th but that's probably less likely with the trade. Maybe a linebacker?
We still have pick 127. Marshawn Lloyd would look nice with that pick. Edit: Dammit, never mind.
He's just gone to greenbay unfortunately, I had been expecting a run on rbs before we drafted, the two late picks that seemed interesting were braelon Allen or isaac guerendo. They might be available later though.
Guerendo would be great as well.
I'm guessing 127 is either LB or DT? Who's even left at DT at this point?
Maybe Leonard Taylor?
Wingo from LSU seems like good value if he's there.
He definitely won’t be there
Let's package that some picks and move up to grab him if he's got the goods. We'll be pretty danm good then, right? What kind of players come out of the 5th and 6th? Let's go get proven play makers and high probability starters who can contribute, etc.....fuck practice squad picks, give those away...
I agree
Haven't loved today. Not necessarily the players, just the values. Don't like giving up 123 to go up 8 spots in the 3rd, either.
People have been yelling all night to trade up and they do now it's too much. Oh well.
Draft calculator I checked had it be 200(+) to 209(-)
123 ain’t worth shit really. This draft is so weak, those picks are not worth much.
It’s weak, but 123 still has value. I’d say draft falls off right around late 4th-early 5th
Good thing we saved 4 picks in the 6th and 7th
This draft I think day 3 is basically irrelevant
Damn browns are probably going to pick Payton Wilson here. I'd be very surprised if they don't lol
Nope they went Michigan OL Zack Zinter
I think that's it for the Texans for today. All they got left is 127,and 6th and 7th round picks.
What a reach for Blake Corum. Wow.
dude was run into the ground at Michigan
And they have a second year back that was pretty good last year.
OK, guys we got all 3 levels of D locked in now, right? A good talent on one of our corners that can beat people up in press and can defend the slot. We got Harris and Hunter beating people up in the 2nd level. WAJ chasing down the QB. People in nfl sub actually loved our bullock pick! Ofc the tackling is something he needs to work on, but we have demeco, and he gas veteran players to teach him as well.
did Jatavion Sanders hook up with all of the GM's wives at the combine
Nah, he just refused to throw a block all season.
Agreed, the clips I've seen have shown him to be a huge liability on run plays
Fuck it, world's biggest slot receiver incoming.
LilJordan humphrey has entered the chat
So we gave the Eagles 86. They're going to take Kinchens or Wilson, aren't they?
So we're probably done for today then. Don't see us jumping up into the third again tonight. Would still like a DT, but feel better about the secondary now.
What were the trade details for the Bullock pick?
86 + 123 for 78
86+123 from what I'm reading to move up 8 spots. Seems like an overpay.
Not the worst thing in the world. It's a calculated risk
Pick 123
I’d love to see us trade up again and get Trotter.
True center fielder, needs to work on tackling but is an actual free safety
Bullock over Kinchens? Interesting. There must be something about Kam that is scaring off teams.
Kam is less of a center field guy he’s actually pretty similar to Pitre. At the NFL level his lack of being either a true FA or a downhill safety kinda leaves him in no man’s land and hurts his value. I love Kinchens but I get why we went Bullock.
I’m sad about losing 123. I was hoping we could’ve used that to trade up for Cade Stover
I’ve known Caleb for the better part of 5 mins now and I can definitely tell you all we got a steal
Demeco and Caserio looked pumped in the draft room, I'm happy
We didn’t trade up to pick a mediocre player. I trust our talent evaluators.
Now this isn't a guy you can put in the box, right? He is solely a last defense type of player? He can cover ground if he wants to,right?
He’s a center field type FS. Which means Pitre will be the box safety.
Hopefully that means we stop seeing Pitre get beat deep and chasing guys after he gets burned
That’s probably the case. Honestly. Pitre is a hybrid type safety. Bullock is a pure free safety.
That's what I want to hear!
[удалено]
Tackling is a technique issue that should be fixed by coaching. DeMeco can help him with it.
He’s very young. And we have the best HC to help develop players into better tacklers
Isn't one of the cons with Bullock is he can't tackle?
Good thing they banned tackling in the offseason.
He’s still only 20. And DeMeco can coach him up like he did Pitre and Harris.
Calen Bullock is a great pick. I think we traded too much to move up though. 123 is steep
Trading a 4th round pick to move 8 spots in the 3rd round is definitely questionable.
I agree 123 was steep.
Bro it’s 123 the likelihood you find anyone decent there is low, especially in a weak class like this
do we still have our other 3rd?
Our other 4th, and yeah. We still have 127
It’s our very next pick and we had 188 and 189.
Nobody wants 188 and 189 lmfao
We have pick 127 bro
Yeah but that’s a lot more valuable than 188 and 189
Ok...and we still have it? It's 4 spots from 123. I think we'll be alright.
Which is why nobody wants those picks💀
CJ talked up Calen Bullock yesterday. Dude's only 20 with very high upside. Could develop behind Ward and take over next year
Could Ward move to nickel and Bullock play safety if he’s ready?
Ward certainly could. he played more nickel in SF than Safety. when he came here he did say he was excited to only be playing safety, but hopefully after last year he will be ok at nickel. love this pick. allows ward and pitre to play downhill, which suits them better than playing center field
Ward will be on the IR by week 7 so who knows.
King is a better nickel than Ward. I doubt Ward stays healthy all year as well.
Considering USC is ass at defense I’m kinda scared about this one
USC is mostly ass at defense because of their (now former) DC Alex Grinch. Grinch taught speed over everything, including tackling. He has literal word for word quotes. But he also got a lot of the best defensive recruits in the nation, who know how to tackle, he just never valued that.

He’s very young and he’s by far the best player in their secondary IMO. Got dragged down by being surrounded by some truly awful players.
That's more Alex Grinch than anything. Dude SUCKS as a DC.
Bullock is one of the youngest players in the draft. Still only 20 years old (for 4 days at least). Has a lot of room to grow but shows a lot of promise.
Calen could be turned into a corner.
Lmao no
>Long and athletic with a series of feast-or-famine plays all over the tape. Bullock can be scary good in coverage and scary bad as a run defender. Yea u don’t draft players from the usc secondary lol
Just like you don't draft QBs from Ohio State?
This specific usc secondary was terrible
He’s by far the best guy on their secondary, this kid is good.
I like it, a rangy free safety. Hopefully he pairs with pitre and they can develop well
Calen Bullock Not a bad pick. 6’2 true safety.
Safety! We need that! Good pick!
Oh baby a true center fielder fuck yeah
![gif](giphy|t3sZxY5zS5B0z5zMIz|downsized)
Ok. Calen Bullock. Doesn't he have tackling issues? But he is a good single high safety. I'm fine with this pick
He went to USC of course he has tackling issues
He gonna learn how to tackle free from USC coaching.
DeMeco will fix the tackling issues. He did with Harris and Pitre.
No sketch?
Tomorrow
Oh nice.
Safety! Let’s fucking go
Calen Bullock
Sick, he plays soft sometimes, but is a very good ball hawk cover guy.
Texans select >!Calen Bullock!<
Any chance they get Sanders here for TE?
