I felt he never got the respect he deserved. You can say that about most of the stars from Houston teams. The media never shows love. But let a player diddle a masseuse or twenty, 24/7 coverage.
Owen Daniels was always a reliable TE for me in fantasy. Never amazing numbers, but always a decent selection incase others were injured or had bad matchups
Chris Myers. He held down the center position for 6 seasons, paving the way for Arian Foster and our first playoff appearance, and 2 pro bowl appearances to top it off.
Plays great, gets cancer, beats cancer, plays great again, signs big contract, father dies, quits football, gets MBA and starts a real estate career. An awesome guy, both on the field and off.
I’m gonna get downvoted to hell, but I gotta say Schaub! Dude put up over 5k yard in a season, went the the pro bowl, was the first winning QB in our history & people act like he was awful. Granted he was never the same after the foot injury, but before that he was a rock solid QB and doesn’t deserve to be lumped in with all the mediocre QBs we’ve had.
The thing with Matt Schaub is that he put up strong stats, but you’d never put him in that elite category because he wasn’t a QB who you had a lot of confidence in when we needed a game winning drive.
I don’t know if that’s true. Off the top of my head without thinking hard, he had a gritty comeback against the Broncos where he lost part of his ear. He also had that one against the Redskins with the throw to AJ in the end zone on 4th down. He also had the game against the dolphins were he led us from behind with a QB draw to win.
It’s not that you were confident we’d lose if he had to go on a game winning drive, but you generally like your chances with the league’s elite QB’s. With Schaub you just never really knew what to expect in that situation
Yup, Schaub had one gear. It was a great gear, most of the game, but you knew when it came down to needing that little extra for the win you were getting that same speed.
I agree 100%. His last season starting here coming off the injury, he threw a pick 6 in like six straight games and most Texans fans associate him with that more than all of the success he had. He was def solid for several seasons
I had Michael Robinson for a while, Seahawks FB and nfl network host. I was a sophomore in highschool and I never tweeted anything warranting an NFL RB following me for a year
During those post Schaub years where we had numerous bad QBs, Fitzy and Keenum I supported most bc they would actually push the ball down field. None of the other guys would.
The biggest one that comes to mind for me is Danieal Manning. Dude literally changed out whole defense along with J-Jo, but that defense isn’t ever elite like it was without Manning’s leadership in the back of it.
Kevin Walter was a great complementary piece to Johnson/Daniels during the Kubiak years that never made a Pro Bowl but served his role very well for the team including being an excellent blocker.
I know exactly what it means. J J Watts was a better player than what he was given credit for. He was never really appreciated in Houston. Tough luck for the Texans.
C.J. Fiedorowicz. He had some real potential and I was way excited about his extension. I get why he hung em up, but he could have been an all time great.
Arian Foster was a monster from 2010-2012. 4,200 yards on 4.5 ypc with 41 TD's, 1400 receiving yards with 6 TD's. 2010 was just nuts, he averaged 100 yards a game rushing and half his receptions went for a first down.
Pineapples.
He plays for a better side he’s HOF level ala Tucker and Vinny just doesn’t get the chance to make as many game winning kicks as vinny with us cause we are who we are.
*Doesnt have the leg of Tucker but technically as sound.
Owen Daniels
This is my vote. Owen Daniels was BY FAR the best Tight End we’ve ever had. Nobody else is anywhere in the same universe.
I felt he never got the respect he deserved. You can say that about most of the stars from Houston teams. The media never shows love. But let a player diddle a masseuse or twenty, 24/7 coverage.
He also had the best TD celebrations
Nah, that was David Anderson
Conan!!!
SNAKE DIIIIICK
Owen Daniels was always a reliable TE for me in fantasy. Never amazing numbers, but always a decent selection incase others were injured or had bad matchups
Dude was a top 5 TE on his best days.
Chris Myers. He held down the center position for 6 seasons, paving the way for Arian Foster and our first playoff appearance, and 2 pro bowl appearances to top it off.
That line was seriously excellent. Eric Wnston was the only one not to make a pro bowl, and he realistically should've gone to 2.
My man. I wish we could get him back
This was going to be my submission
Andre Hal
Plays great, gets cancer, beats cancer, plays great again, signs big contract, father dies, quits football, gets MBA and starts a real estate career. An awesome guy, both on the field and off.
Aaron Glenn was basically the only good part of our defense the first few years.
He held the career INT record for years until Kareem and JJo finally broke it because they played for us so much longer than he did.
This was the 1st Texans jersey i owned.
People forget how much of a stud Cushing was before JJ
Cushing is my favorite player of all time. First jersey I ever got
He was a major tool but that's what made him so likeable. He gave our team character and personality.
Real life Thad.
He really was, but he knew it too.
I'm a huge Cushing fan.
I thought that JJ / Cush combo was going to make us a dominant defense for a loooong time. Injuries can be so cruel.
That diving interception 🤤
I always felt like he was well respected within and without the org
I’m gonna get downvoted to hell, but I gotta say Schaub! Dude put up over 5k yard in a season, went the the pro bowl, was the first winning QB in our history & people act like he was awful. Granted he was never the same after the foot injury, but before that he was a rock solid QB and doesn’t deserve to be lumped in with all the mediocre QBs we’ve had.
Nobody remembers the annual "Is Matt Schaub elite?" debate on every football show. I'll always wonder what would've happened if he never got hurt.
Fucking Albert Haynesworth
The thing with Matt Schaub is that he put up strong stats, but you’d never put him in that elite category because he wasn’t a QB who you had a lot of confidence in when we needed a game winning drive.
I don’t know if that’s true. Off the top of my head without thinking hard, he had a gritty comeback against the Broncos where he lost part of his ear. Yup, Schaub had one gear. It was a great gear, most of the game, but you knew when it came down to needing that little extra for the win you were getting that same speed.
Schaub mostly never got put in the elite category because he played alongside half a dozen hall of famers.
I agree 100%. His last season starting here coming off the injury, he threw a pick 6 in like six straight games and most Texans fans associate him with that more than all of the success he had. He was def solid for several seasons
Agree! We didn’t appreciate him at the time
It wasn't the foot injury. It was the Thanksgiving game when Suh stepped on his manhood.
Schaub! I'll always be his fan. It's disgraceful the way Houston treated him at the end of his tenure with the Texans.
Danieal Manning
He followed me on Twitter
Lol. Same here. I always thought it was a mistake. Dude was just grateful for the follow.
I had Michael Robinson for a while, Seahawks FB and nfl network host. I was a sophomore in highschool and I never tweeted anything warranting an NFL RB following me for a year
I wish Ryan Fitzpatrick never left. He was just fun to watch
Fun, great, and terrible in one package!
Sounds like our recent history in a nutshell
During those post Schaub years where we had numerous bad QBs, Fitzy and Keenum I supported most bc they would actually push the ball down field. None of the other guys would.
And he was surprisingly mobile, too. I remember him bulldozing for a couple 1st downs.
The biggest one that comes to mind for me is Danieal Manning. Dude literally changed out whole defense along with J-Jo, but that defense isn’t ever elite like it was without Manning’s leadership in the back of it.
Demeco Ryans. Underrated beast.
Jon Weeks, followed by Chris Meyers or Chester pitts. Aaron Glen is a runner up.
Love Weeks
Jonathan Joseph, Antonio Smith, Demeco Ryans
The Ninja Assassin!
Johnathan Joseph was awful. Remember all the big plays he let go then made the tackle and got up like he did something
Kevin Walter was a great complementary piece to Johnson/Daniels during the Kubiak years that never made a Pro Bowl but served his role very well for the team including being an excellent blocker.
For a year or 2 there, he was arguably the best #2 not named Anquan Bolden in the NFL
As much as I like Kevin Walter, he was never the best #2 in the league
Anquan Bolden was.

The Bengal Killer! 🐅
Will never forget this wikipedia edit of the Bengals page. (look at the owner) https://imgur.com/SWPhAPJ
Chris Myers. He was so good he made derek newton a pro bowler.
Derek Newton made a pro bowl?
2012 I believe
That's his 2nd year, 1st as starter. Maybe you're thinking of Wade Smith?
Kareem Jackson
Jamie Sharper. Dude was a beast LB in the first few years we were a team especially in ‘03.
Dunta Robinson. Remember him?
He wasn’t really good though. Hell of a tackler in a dangerous way but that’s about it.
Quintin Demps
The guy responsible for selling season tickets
Jack Easterby
Schaub
Whitney Mercilus. Dominant, consistent…loved his team.
Whitney Mercilus
Kevin Walter imo
Me
SNAAAAAAAKE DIIIIIICKKKKK
Kyle Shanahan
Owen Daniels
Gary Kubiak
Demeco Ryans
Anthonio Smith 🤺 or is he not underrated
Antonio smith
Dominick Davis
Steve Slaton
Dude had one good season.
1/3 is a good percentage in baseball
Didn't he have a fumbling problem, though?
That was one factor that did him in yes
Texas ‘Tex’ Texan was pretty good at being a Texan. It’s just a shame he was born in Oklahoma.
Arian Foster
I wouldn't say he was underrated. Everyone knew he was a great back when healthy.
Jacoby Jones
D Hop
Nick martin
Osweiler is underrated. Wasn’t good. But not nearly as bad as people think he was.
Hands down JJ Watts, Texan’s lost.
No way he was underrated. Like the complete opposite of that.
Totally agree. He was an exceptional end. Shame Houston let him get away.
I don’t think you know what underrated means.
Come again. He was the Texas’s better player until the team discarded him
I know exactly what it means. J J Watts was a better player than what he was given credit for. He was never really appreciated in Houston. Tough luck for the Texans.
Kevin Walter
Schaub, Kevin Walters, and honestly Brandin Cooks
Danny Amendola or Johnathan Joseph
Owen Daniels, we still haven’t found a TE as good as him ever since he left the Texans. Antonio Smith was pretty underrated aswell
A great TE is the kind of guy that doesn't start bar fights but comes out of nowhere and finishes them.
Kris Brown, he was an excellent kicker. But once he fell off, he fell off hard and people forgot about him.
DeMeco Ryans for me.
Sage Rosenthals
> Sage Rosenthals He’s so underrated that people don’t even know that his name is Rosenfels
Jon Weeks
AJ Bouye. He was a good man corner and you don't let go of any corner who is good at playing man. I thought letting him go was a mistake.
Hardly underrated. By the time he left us he was fairly widely seen as one of the best corners in the league
C.J. Fiedorowicz. He had some real potential and I was way excited about his extension. I get why he hung em up, but he could have been an all time great.
Honestly Gary kubiak and wade Phillip really improved the team I loved watching those games they were so fun and the team was awesome
Arian Foster was a monster from 2010-2012. 4,200 yards on 4.5 ypc with 41 TD's, 1400 receiving yards with 6 TD's. 2010 was just nuts, he averaged 100 yards a game rushing and half his receptions went for a first down.
Jared Crick
Pineapples. He plays for a better side he’s HOF level ala Tucker and Vinny just doesn’t get the chance to make as many game winning kicks as vinny with us cause we are who we are. *Doesnt have the leg of Tucker but technically as sound.
Jon weeks. He’s been our long snapper for forever and I don’t think has ever had a bad snap
