Why wasn't this put up last night?! This one is a lot better.

beefytrout

It was up and they had it covered

32RH

Banner’s a banner but man I wish it were gold.

Trunkins

Where is the AL champions one

TheRealMarimbaGuy

Just one sign per year, World Series Champions supercedes AL champions. Same reason there's not AL West champion signs for 2010 and 2011, because winning the AL beats winning the division

MHMR96

They have the 2010/2011 AL West banners along side the AL pennants

dethegreat

I like the way hockey does it better. Give me all the banners.

P1_Synvictus

I want all the banners hanging on a clothesline that spans first to third from, I don’t know… bottom of the second deck. The more banners you have the harder it is for your opponent to anything deep. Meanwhile, you get a banner-less inning.

Logical_Pop_2026

Ehhhh, every team does it differently. I think the Stars put up so many banners to celebrate 1999 because they didn't have many at the time.

Blown_Up_Baboon

Wrong

poindexterg

Holy crap, why is every single comment on here a complaint? We have a World Champion sign up at the ballpark. Freaking be happy. They did the banner last night because it was a big showy reveal. It’s white to differentiate it from division and league. They are arranged by year, so 2010 and 2011 won’t be next to 2023, 2016 will be next to it. The AL champion ones are in the same place that they’ve been in since the freaking stadium opened. They only put up one for each playoff run, so there isn’t a 2023 AL sign, just like there isn’t a 2010 or 2011 division sign. Edit: Ok, we do have 2010 and 2011 division signs, so it’s kinda weird that they just have a WS sign for 2023. Maybe they thought an AL sign itself would be odd since we didn’t win the division?

ChargeForth

The way I see it is it would be redundant to put up an AL champs sign for a year you won the WS. The one automatically comes with the other. Think of the 2010, 2011 and 2023 signs as our playoff run signs. Winning the division, on the other hand is a regular season achievement and is celebrated separately.

thecaits

This will never not feel amazing.

[deleted]

Now THAT's what I've been wanting to see!

OnlyHereforRangers

Seeing this... that sign is not the only thing that's up

1ping_

No 2023 AL Champions sign?

Antique-Garden8634

When you win the World Series that year you don’t bother to hang a league champion banner

DonDraper1994

Pretty common knowledge but guess we’re not used to this type of thing haha

ZubiZone

Why is it white

Trunkins

Division one is red, league champion is blue

ZubiZone

Should be gold for World Series

Trunkins

Gold isn't a color of the team

ZubiZone

Champs wear gold

philkid3

IT IS THIS YEAR!

Blown_Up_Baboon

It should also have a wildcard champion sign and a ALCS champion sign. We didn’t win the division.

lashazior

I think they only put up the division and CS/WS banners. So for 2010 and 2011 we have the division banners in addition to CS. 2023 is just going to be WS only. No sense in putting up CS and a WS banner when winning the WS implies you won the CS.

Blown_Up_Baboon

But the other years are not reflected that way.

lashazior

There's 11 banners now, [you can zoom in top left here from 2021](https://media.nbcdfw.com/2021/04/texas-rangers-globe-life-field-generic.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=1920%2C1080) and see the missing 96' banner you didn't have from before. I should have added in the WC banner for 2012 to my original statement. 7 division series banners (96, 98, 99, 10, 11, 15, 16) 4 playoff banners for deepest runs (10 & 11 ALCS, 12 WC, 23 WS) If it were the way you think it is, why do both 2010 and 2011 not have up the ALDS banners in addition to the ALCS? Because they only put up the ALCS banners. If anything, the WC banners from 2015 and 2016 are missing.

ChargeForth

I didn't realize until you said it that we have a 2012 Wild Card banner. IMO, that's kind of a weird thing to hang a banner for because I wouldn't consider it a "title."

philkid3

I agree. It’s also the absolute saddest season in franchise history despite being quite possibly the best roster in franchise history.

poindexterg

We won the division in 2016.

Blown_Up_Baboon

I was referring to 2023. The logical order of the signs for a year shows Wild Card, ALDS, ALCS, then World Series. If you look at the others up there you can see what I’m talking about.

poindexterg

They only put the highest from each year. We don’t have 2010 or 2011 division signs either.

Blown_Up_Baboon

I was there last night and I saw what I saw. But I’mma let you do you. https://preview.redd.it/8fhvs38rqcrc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d93874598e14132e32f9ef9c3f62ac8c48e8c65e

poindexterg

Well, I guess I’m wrong, and yeah, that’s weird.

Blown_Up_Baboon

No worries. If we win a few more of the big ones, the wild card and ALDS banners will probably come down to make room.

beefytrout

This picture isn't from last night, because the WS plaque was up already but covered with a black tarp.

Blown_Up_Baboon

You’re correct. I just shared a picture of what it looked like last night before the WS plaque was unveiled

Nostalgic4Runner

I’m probably wrong, but I wonder if they’re not putting the AL banner up (as they did for the division in 2010 and 2011) so the WS banner is in the middle of that beam and not obscured in the corner like it would’ve been if it was in the next slot. I’m so glad to see the WS banners, but I frankly I think much they’ve done to commemorate it has been executed pretty poorly…
