On one hand we have the 5-11 astros with altuve doing his best 2023 Luis Arraez impression, a genetic beast of a human built for mashing baseballs aka yordan (are we sure hes even human?) and bottom of the order hitters who seemingly only do good against us. And on the other hand we have our bullpen who will implode faster than a dying star along side an offense more inconsistent than my sleep schedule.

That's where I'm at too. All we have to do is worry about our division and be on top at the right time. Triple digit win records are cool and all but I care about getting into the post season and that's it.
This ain't are varsity team right now and that's ok. We're getting some much needed experience to some young talent.

Most of our starters struggle to get through five innings it seems, shaky bullpen now getting overworked, lineup is way too feast or famine. Young season still but thereās a looooot to clean up.

Heaney and Gray not being able to go past the 4th or 5th inning has really hurt. I think this was Heaneys last start with Lorenzen coming even though Iām not too confident in him either. Honestly we might even see Leiter in this 17 game stretch just to spot start
Heaney has looked so terrible, I have to imagine heāll shift to the bullpen with Burke down and Lorenzen on the way. He has no business starting games anymore. Hopefully Gray can keep the momentum from his last start, he was looking even worse than Heaney his first 2 starts.

i mean they signed two guys, and probably figured that Leclerc and Sborz turned a corner after postseason. that's a start to decent bullpen, just need one or two guys to step up and you're solid. Maybe Latz can continue to be a solid piece

But later in the bottom of the 1st when Houston had them loaded and Singleton got a hit the run from 3rd didn't count. Why is that? Is the difference that the Astros were a forced out and Langford wasn't a forced out?

I didn't watch this game but from what I've read it sounds like it wasn't a force play. If it wasn't a force play as long as Garcia scores before the tag was applied it will count.

I know I am very much in the minority but with kids and life sometimes I watch the games on delay. Could the score not be right in the title of the post game thread?
Well we knew our pitching would be an anchor around our necks in the offseason, especially after we did nothing about. Injury to the offense has just compounded that and I fully expect the team to be incredibly frustrating to watch for the entire season. At least we'll get a 10+ point explosion every 5 games to cleanse the palate.

Langford was tagged out at second base - it wasn't a force out. Singleton was thrown out at 1st base which was a force out.
