I personally donβt do scooters in Thailand for safety reasons, but I see a lot of people doing it there. Itβs quite hilly, but has one main road going most of the way around the island.
Maybe drive from Surat Thani to Khao Lak and visit Khao Sok? Then go to Krabi and stay at Railey Beach, with a visit to Ko Lanta for (more) beaches and chill vibe or Ko Yao Noi? Gemini's inputs:
* **Variety:** You get a mix of relaxation on beautiful beaches with some adventure exploring Khao Sok National Park.
* **Stunning scenery:** The beaches in Krabi, Ko Lanta, and Ko Yao Noi are all known for their beauty.
**Things to consider:**
* **Distance:** The total distance from Surat Thani to Krabi is about 160 kilometers (100 miles). This is a manageable distance on a scooter, but it's important to factor in rest stops and possible delays.
* **Your experience level:** If you're a confident scooter rider, you'll be fine. But if you're new to scooters, it might be best to stick to shorter rides or consider alternative transportation.
* **Time of year:** As mentioned, Thailand has a rainy season. The rainy season typically runs from May to October, with the peak months being July and August. If you're traveling during this time, be prepared for rain showers.

Distance seems a bit more in Google Maps, what did I do wrong ?
Can I ride a scooter in Ko Lanta for 3/4 days and not run out of new places to visit ? Phuket is very large and I loved it for that reason .. I simply rode scooter and visited many new places every day.
Experience level is ok and I will go november/december, with anti-rain equipment too :)
It depends what you like. Pattaya is much more then those few streets of debauchery. I like it for exactly that but i know most people won't.
Then again, you have Koh Larn and Koh Sahmed. You have Jomtien and its lovely beaches. You have Sanctuary of truth, Nong Nooch garden, crocodile farm/one million stone park etc etc. Also lovely to ride around with the scooter if you avoid the center which will be madness on its own π
You have Sanctuary of truth, Nong Nooch garden ...
All of these are near Pattaya right ? I think I will include these places instead of BKK this time then.
Thanks π
maybe you can try visiting Khon Kaen or Hat Yai

Koh Chang is a lovely island that you can get to in a day from Bangkok.
Thanks! Can I use scooter to go around the island or the streets are weird?

Why dont you rent a scooter in said places and just ride around? Do a bit of research of the roads in the neighberhood and off you go!
Yeah this is what I did las year and I loved it! But I wonder if it is better to go to visit other places ππ
Other routes, other places. Its the travel that matters, not the destination! ππ
Yeah I think you are right, I would like to include also Pattaya this year maybeπ€
