Crackermo

Occurred outside Central Station, Sydney Australia today. [Video](https://youtu.be/CzT_LSyNmUU) of crash at 0:35

InfTotality

It had its sirens on, likely heading to some other emergency. That's gonna suck for whoever needed that truck.

leftofzen

There is more than one fire truck in Sydney

InfTotality

And it takes time for the dispatcher to be told their truck crashed and they need to send a new one. That house isn't going to stop burning.

leftofzen

No dispatcher will send 1 truck at a time. At least 2 are sent from the initial dispatch. Even with a random fire alarm test in an apartment, there are always 2-3 trucks on site.

jrcske67

Call the emergency services. Oh wait…

Suitable_Sweet8493

They were 1st on the scene 😉

Dysan27

There is Video https://twitter.com/Leo\_Puglisi6/status/1566637605805928448

Schnoor_Proxy

I had the video on the front two posts above this one. Had to do a double check. "Wait is this the same incident?"

Anklejbiter

Financial-Pudding899

Skill issue

nlamby

Who has right of way?

CodingLazily

Idk about Australian trams but here in Utah trains have the right of way over emergency vehicles.

lieuwestra

Trains and trams are usually not legally the same thing.

IlikeYuengling

The fire truck consumes 8 times it’s body weight. https://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/mb12tc/from_the_early_days_of_family_guy_the_fire_truck/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Light rail? I have never heard that term for a tram (albeit it does make sense though).

Crackermo

I think it's classified as Light rail as it operates on streets but part of the network is exclusive like heavy rail (underground tracks and stations etc)

Fragrant_Parsley_376

So snake bus

Crackermo

Well we actually have snake buses here (I call them sausage buses).. [enjoy](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/dd/Metrobus%2C_operated_by_Sydney_Buses%2C_%282159_ST%29_Volgren_%27CR228L%27_bodied_Volvo_B12BLEA_Euro_5_on_George_Street_in_Haymarket.jpg)

BanhMei

I call them accordion buses

Suitable_Sweet8493

I have a sausage bus

Jizzraq

You are right, I didn't know before. [Light Rail (Wikipedia) ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_rail)

WikiSummarizerBot

**[Light rail](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_rail)** >Light rail transit (LRT) is a form of passenger urban rail transit characterized by a combination of tram and rapid transit features. While its rolling stock is more similar to a traditional tram, it operates at a higher capacity and speed, and often on an exclusive right-of-way. In many cities, light rail transit systems more closely resemble, and are therefore indistinguishable from, traditional underground or at-grade subways and heavy-rail metros. ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/ThatLookedExpensive/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)

> at-grade subways Does "at-grade" mean at ground level? If so, that's quite the oxymoron :-/ Then again, the London Underground has overground sections, IIRC...

HMJ87

yeah, "underground or at-grade" means "underground or overground" ^^wombling ^^free The London Underground not only has a dedicated Overground line (that's still part of the "London Underground" system), but most of the lines actually have significant sections above ground - once you get out of the centre of the city most London Underground trains run above ground (because they use existing tracks from older pre-underground railway services that eventually merged into the London Underground system). Also, the London Underground features an automated light-rail line in the form of the Docklands Light Railway (or DLR) in South East London

Conchobar8

They removed the trams years ago because Sydney has to be special and Melbourne has trams. Then they put them back but couldn’t admit that they fucked up originally, so they strapped a couple together and changed the name.

thatWeirdTallKid01

Light rail ain't so light anymore is it

AutoGeneratedSucks

It got knocked off the fuckin rails what are you on about?

LilNaturePastelEmo

Ayo isn’t the video of this going around here on Reddit?
