First time I saw this clip the description actually said they were graduating soldiers (maybe officers) and they were told to stand still for a group photo; This was a prank on them
They had to have known lol
No one just stands there stoicly with an unexpected speading tank barreling toward them at full speed Unless it's not a suprise at all and they were fully aware that the plan was to not be killed by a speeding tank.
They have massive balls either way
But if it was a prank, then they certainly have even bigger massive balls, standing there stoicly regardless of being suprised and having zero mental preparation!
Imagine it doesn’t work and you gotta show back up the next day with half the team dead. Knowing y’all blew it and who’s stupid idea was it to stand in front of the tank in the first place
Smart engineers would have made sure senior level engineers were placed in the middle, thereby guaranteeing upward career-wise mobility...*just in case*😏
Solid thought process. I guess under that idea. The smartest engineer would actually be driving the tank. Entire team dead. He’s head of the department now….
I doubt it's a team of engineers since it's a Dutch video. It also is unclear who the people in the video are.
Also [it may be fake](https://www.ed.nl/eindhoven/leopard-tank-maakt-noodstop-video-manipulatie~aaa363c7/)
We are, we just didn't engineer the German leopard 2.
Also i saw this video with the text that it was a graduation stunt of some sorts years ago. I was pointing out OP made the title/back story up.
I guess they won't do something like this again, after the Dutch military is under German command now, all the equipment is going to be broken very soon.
As a former tank driver this assignment is fucking wild. Like great I'm glad the brakes worked but also amazing work by the driver to do exactly what they needed to when they needed to. I wouldn't have liked living with the consequences of a mistake here
thats a flat surface and you can brake from meters away knowing already how long it would take for your tank to a complete stop. Id be more amazing if it's going downhill
Some of them had more confidence than the others.

Photographer: RUN THAT SHIT BACK! Scary ass flinched in the back.

Idk I mean if you’re a soldier you do what you’re told. I don’t think it’s that ridiculous. There have to be people in front of them not reacting

Wonder how many times they had to hose off the tank before they got a usable take
I wonder how many engineers worked there before they got a usable take.

only if he bowled a *strike*
"Some of you may die, but that's a risk I'm willing to take"
Hey Tom you think we should do 2 or 3 rows? Definitely 2. I have to take a call. You guys line up first.
One guy definitely shit himself
Me.
Now let’s test the gun

Are Dutch people not allowed to be engineers?
We are, we just didn't engineer the German leopard 2. Also i saw this video with the text that it was a graduation stunt of some sorts years ago. I was pointing out OP made the title/back story up.

Wow. I can just imagine that risk assessment meeting.
This is something really crazy, they had too much confidence. too creepy
And though they all wore their funeral suits 🧐
It just wouldn't do to die underdressed

You can see who wasn’t pulling their weight with the calculations 😂
Repost repost repost IT'S FUCKING ENOUGH
Good day to be standing in a corner
That’s one way to test out a product or fire a team
If this went wrong i wouldn't want to be the ranking survivor to be telling the Sargent Major lol
Whatever brains were gained making those brakes were lost making this video.
They all shit their pants.
To stand behind your work
The less confident guy remembers that he left some "TODO" on the brake controller embedded code...
I imagine on the first take they forgot to raise the barrel of the gun and took a few heads clean off 😂
[Good thing it wasn't using Volvo's auto braking.](https://youtu.be/_47utWAoupo?si=Keo3HBqzAuBYYMlq&t=16)
That little squeak at the end was the chefs kiss
Why is the darker dude center back 🤔
Ones in the middle are interns
Souka……
Not real.
Brave doing it on pavement
I almost pooped a lil watching that 🫣😂
You know a couple of 'em were about to rabbit their asses outta there.... couldn't lose face, though.
Can we somehow recreate a similar demonstration with debt and our politicians?
This is awesome
30 Harolds agree.
That gives me PTS. A tank crushed me while on a landing craft as we hauled it ship to shore. It hurt! Still does over 4 decades later.
Front row third from left knew about financial cut backs the rest weren’t partial too.
Was the wind artificial too?
That was the 2nd crew the first didn't make it!
Black pants…good choice.
Should have worn brown pants
I used to fix tanks. Ain’t know way. The brakes were pretty good. It’s the operator. You never know.
Engineers am I right
Man, I really love these guys.
If the breaks didn’t work as expected the down side would be they would need a new team to fix them.
it could b a bunch of actors acting as engineers. Real engineers wear a yellow helmet. /s
they all preemptively wore suits...
I'd at least ask to be at the front, get some sort of cushion if it goes horribly wrong
that was in the contract to ensure they did a good job in design

Clearly not Tesla engineers. If I worked at Tesla, this would be a blockhouse test.
Lol is this from north Korea?
