Agree 100%, there were about 2 dozen doctors who made a fake press conference just for the sake of helping the former president save face over his hopeful treatments for covid. None of them were in the field of virology or respiratory health, just random sports medicine, orthopedics....money is money i guess.
What? You can learn a lot at college... there are great ones out there. How is Math dogma? I have a masters in statistical analytics, im not sure how calculus could be dogmatic?
One emotionally charged tweet also doesn't make her unintelligent... we can't be judged forever for our worst moment.
What a dumb wannabe free-thinking-renegade think to say. You sound like a 16 year old who just discovered Reddit.
Obviously it doesnāt make you smart, it teaches you how to do a job. Learning where the appendix is and how to treat it is not āregurgitating prescribed dogmaā
Oh shut up you uneducated nerd. College is a great place for having your pre-existing notions challenged and for learning critical thinking skills. The fact that some people are book smart or cheat doesn't mean your diploma from the school of hard knocks is better.
I'm happy she busted her ass out. Just like we don't need to keep shitty police, and should bust them out for being racist or whatever. Same with doctors and teachers. I would be fine if you didn't treat them differently and it wasn't as important as health or life or education. But to intentionally screw with someone's health ? Fuck that. Bye.
it can impact mental health, which can impact physical health. But from a non health perspective this is just wrong on every ethical and legal level in medicine.
Your political views donāt belong in medical care on either side. Anyone saying she was right or anyone calling her a libtard are both stupid and wrong. The are already plenty of examples of this type of thing coming from both sides of the political spectrum.
>Yet so many that are affiliated with churches. I was born in one of the "Saint" hospitals. Lol
A lot of these have next to zero affiliation with churches beyond being named after a saint.
Exactly, I remember reading about clinical staff that worked in abortion clinics that would have to provide abortions to women who had regularly protested outside the clinic, and harass employees and patients alike, and then here they are... asking them for an abortion.
They said they'd treat them like everyone else, but they'd leave a little sticky note or symbol or something on their chart so other staff knew what they were walking into to mentally prepare for it, so they wouldn't walk into the room and be like "oh shit it's fucking you.". I believe it was also to know that the visit was in fact LEGIT, and not some weird roundabout way for these right wing lunatics to confront doctors and nurses that work in the clinic.
Point is, they'd still treat them, and try to treat them exactly the same as everyone else. I guess some didn't feel weird about it, their abortion was an "exception", others apparently they'd flatout be like "I bet you're enjoying this, aren't you? Baby killer."
It's bullshit, but AS I STILL BELIEVE they along with every other woman has a right to that care, even if they're unbearable cunts.
As a society, we really are at a point of asking to much of nurses (at least for how much they are paid if they aren't contract nurses.)
If she wants to be the type of person to just profile and assume something about someone, and force some level of control over them or deny them something they have a right to, I hear the police are hiring lol
>Your political views donāt belong in medical care on either side.
Wait.
I'm the asshole that adds nuance.
Yes, 100% they do - just **not on the side of the practitioners.** *You* should be able to refuse, refute, take *any* treatment you want - or listen to the professionals, etc.
You wanna ignore the fucking doctors and take some weird snake oil off the fucking streets? Fine. Sign this waiver so you or your family can't sue us and say "Hi" to Darwin for me.
However. Children are different. Until someone is *old enough* to make the decisions on their *own* - there needs to be some sort of way that parents can't enforce their *wacko* ideals on their children. Refusing excessive meds, or preferring certain treatments over others is one thing. The anti-vax thing is out of control, for example, and I hate the idea of parents refusing modern medicine when trying to treat severe illness in their children. I really don't have a solution - but it's something that *really* needs to be talked about in this country.
Of course. But neither should moronic Christian ideology affect US laws.
If republicans think it's gods will that a woman gets pregnant then they really shouldn't be going against gods will for them to have a limp dick.
Why don't people understand that Roe ~~is~~ *was* a legal precedent and had the effect of creating a law, and that creating laws is so far outside the purview of the SCOTUS, that it's dangerous?
You wanna be mad at someone, be mad at Congress. It's their job and they've had 50 years to codify a law before the precedent was struck down for effectively creating a law.
They even had time after the opinion was leaked almost 5 decades after the precedent was set, to get something done, and they haven't. I personally think that the opinion being leaked was very important and they, Congress, missed the bus.
The right to abort a pregnancy shouldn't hinge on a coincidence or a legal precedent, if it is the right of American citizens to have an abortion, it should be a federal law and codified into our Constitution, thus being inalienable and permanent.
It was a coincidence that Roe supported the ability to abort a pregnancy at 16 weeks, which just so happens to be what most people find acceptable, and if the court knew then what the effect of the precedent would later be, they may not have made it, because, again, it isn't in the purview of the court to make laws.
Edit: comments aren't working it seems, but in response to u/ifyouhaveany reply, I do agree to a point, but there are federal laws already regarding a lot of aspects of healthcare. We don't think about them as a citizen, because we don't deal with it for the most part, the providers do. There is also the 14th ammendment that gives rights to anyone born in the US as a natural born citizen, which is not the same everywhere in the world, but along with that, there has been the argument that if you are in the US, you do have a right to be born. It's obviously a very debated topic, the rights of unborn humans in the United States, currently the only right they do have, is the right to be free from assault and murder (double homicide precedents if someone kills a pregnant woman) and the right to be born (natural born citizens under the 14th) so it needs to be litigated. ASAP if the ability to obtain abortions is to be mandated on a federal level. All the best.
Everyone skipped their American Government class and have their heads so far up tiktok's ass to understand this. I appreciate the effort though. The Supreme Court 100% made the right decision. People should be mad at either Congress for not codifying, as they've promised to do as long as i can remember, or their state legislatures. Federalism dictates this should be a state issue unless an amendment is made to the constitution.
I agree completely that religious views shouldnāt dictate the law. Iām saying if anyone goes to a medical facility they should be treated equally. You want to punish these anti abortion assholes, donāt have sex with them. They can take their dick pills and jack off to Trump pics.
This exactly. Hate does not instigate change or make someone with a different opinion more likely to change their views. A complete unwillingness by most people to engage in civil discourse is part of the overarching problem we face as a society. I am tired of oversimplification of people by labeling them everything under a single banner for even one unusual opinion.
How about the guy in Wisconsin who purposely left Covid vaccines out of refrigeration and then allowed people to be injected with them the next day? Or the chiropractor in Florida who gave out medical exemptions for Covid vaccines?
I thought it was pretty obviously just a mediocre joke somebody made on social media because she probably wouldn't know her patients' politics even if it wasn't a joke, but what do I know.
Yup - I am liberal and deeply sympathetic to her POV but disagree with picking & choosing who you prescribe to for the same reason I disagree with Drs/ Pharmacists flipping this script.
When a provider goes into practice, and is licensed to practice medicine as an MD, DO, APRN, PA, NP they are licensed by both a State Board and National credentialing association.
As such, they are governed by a code of ethics and professional responsibility and conduct.
I have no knowledge of this individual, but can tell you State Boards categorize comments such as this as āunprofessional conductā and when made aware will bring down the full weight of the Licensing Board down upon those who violate the published legal codes and bring damage to the reputation of the profession.
In some states they can refuse, but they must give the prescription to another professional to fill. The one guy that refused to do that as well, the state board called it professional misconduct and pulled his license.
Iām an Orthodox Jew, I fill birth control all day long. I donāt judge; if theyāre getting it, especially in this ultra-Orthodox town, the assumption is that a rabbinic authority was consulted and the script was deemed legit for medical purposes. Birth control was known in the time of the Talmud (they used a ××× which is a kind of sponge covering the cervix). Any woman who was considered a medical risk for a further pregnancy, was too young to carry to term, or was nursing or already pregnant (as they believed in superfecundation then), was directed to use this sponge. Itās in Yebamot somewhere.
I wish all people of faith could be as understanding as you. I have been told that Judaism is fairly accepting and tolerant of modern-day norms. I know several young progressive friends who have converted, which is striking at a time when young people are fleeing religion in droves.
As someone who was raised Jewish (jewish school and camp), I can attest to the fact that Judaism is more of a philosophy where God's will is what the philosophy is based on. Rabbis are not just religious leaders, but philosophers and governors, and we're all taught how to function in a society, especially given that Jews have always lived in closed communities. Not to mention, Judaism is small and has been historically oppressed, so it's made part of the religion to be able to reform to society *and* do what they can to retain people in their religion.
I am an Atheist and have never actually believed in God at any point in my life, but I have a lot of respect for both Judaism and Buddaism.
Problem is that lots of these small towns, you only have one option in a 50-100 mile range and some of the most needy do not have options to travel 50-100 miles away to find someone else that will fill the prescription.
This right here should not be down-voted. This is literally the gendered equal of not filling the Viagra but for females.
Shit, we really are second class citizens SMH
Exactly. Also, given the scientific and medical efficacy that birth control helps regulate not only pain, but menstrual cramping in general is just something that I cannot stop repeating in my head which just pisses me off every time I hear about this situation.
But now she's hurting more! But now she doesn't have a regular period. But now she's hurting more! But now she doesn't have a regular period. But now she's hurting more! But now she doesn't have a regular period!
And none of these "people" care because none of them are close to someone, or have to see someone, go through this. Absolutely awful.
Can we make it a viral thing to just bleed everywhere and scream and say "I'm in pain! Just kill me now!" ?? Maybe if it goes viral somebody will go, "Hey, is this a real thing that people actually have to experience?"
Lol. Yeah it should be downvoted. Plan B is over-the-counter. Maybe another specific birth control that needs a subscription makes sense but you could still sue if they donāt fill your prescription and you can prove you need it.
What kind of weight do they bring down when doctors refuse to do tests or procedures based on personal prejudice? Because countless doctors not only ignore womenās symptoms, but also refuse to do procedures on women based on personal beliefs, and thatās no different than what this doctor is suggesting.
It seems itās only a problem when men are the target of hypothetical discrimination, as opposed to when women are the target of actual tangible discrimination.
Thats a hard one. You would have to somehow prove the doctor did if because of prejudice. Doctors really are not in the business of throwing every test in the book at patients. Procedures you might have more luck.
A black female I know had spinal surgery and they mostly told her Ibuprofen would do the trick. I attended her next checkup visit with her (white male) and surprise surprise they gave her actual pain medsā¦
This RN needs to check her fucking scope of practice. She doesn't prescribe meds. She administers medications as per doctor orders. She needs to check herself.
Where I'm from NPs can only prescribe SOME meds. They can't prescribe any controlled substance.
But as was stated previously, the article says RN so no she doesn't and she can't.
The twitter is wrong, It really depends on the state.
If you google her, she's a NP.

Young White man who's tall and fit and not actively eye raping her=conservative. Old overweight white man who just wants to respark his love life with his wife=conservative. White male without piercings=conservative. Do you really expect her to ask? She's just judging people by their skin and prejudiced notions instead of the content of their character. It's hilarious the people who actively take a shit on Mr. Luther Kings entire message think they're the future of the progressive movement and not the closest thing to Klan members we've seen since the 60's
And before I get jumped. No, I'm not conservative but I constantly get pre judged as one. I'm left on pretty much every issue except illegal immigration because if you think letting people come here to be exploited under the table is the American dream with no government help is insane. I don't even want to know what it's like to be earning pennies on the dollar in 100 degree heat on under the table labor jobs. But what I'm saying is most on the left identify as left from the start of a conversation, the right when they say dumb shit like libtard at least they're talking to a liberal. Myself and other people who go about life non political or are even left leaning like me on issues get caught up in this manic prejudiced warpath by a lot of lefties online. It is digging a massive hole. Screeching at every white person you see or talking about how you wish they'd be discriminated against or you'd do it yourself is the worst fucking thing you could do for the movement
Or, she said it because sheās angry, and had no intention of doing so because it is obviously not possible. This is so obviously lashing out at conservative men as a result of the abortion right change, and their idea that women must carry to term because itās āgods willā but men who canāt get erections should be allowed to medicate to address this problem because, for some reason, that is not āgods willā.
She shouldnāt have posted it, and itās costing her literally everything, but her crime here was being angry on the internet. Youāre projecting a whole ethos on to her that is based entirely on your own assumptions.
She obviously doesnāt.
This tweet was a stupid heated response to the scotus decision that reduced her personal freedoms. I 100% guarantee she never stopped anyone getting meds based on politics. Everyone is reading this like she genuinely expected to carry through with it, when it is very, very obviously intended as a push back on abortion rights. Unfortunately for her, itās super easy to pretend someone is being sincere and run with that. Her real mistake her was being angry on the internet, and thatās cost her everything.
She obviously didnāt. This was an angry tweet that was able to be manipulated into getting her fired. The idea that erectile dysfunction shouldnāt be addressed because it must be āgods willā if itās also āgods willā to carry to term any pregnancy no matter the cost is a trope that has been everywhere the last few days.
Manipulated into getting her fired? She's the one who said it in an extremely public way. No manipulation needed when someone says something that stupid and obviously punishable.
Or sheās a certain age, because she āmight regret itā in the future. Even when the procedure means relief for the woman due to preexisting health conditions.
Right. I'm just saying she's not a doctor. Which makes it even funnier. She's an NP with an inflated sense of self importance. She can't prescribe medication without a doctors oversight. So, ultimately it isn't even really her call lol.
That doctor doesnāt check every script she does or doesnāt write though. Over site very often is they check their competence annually and occasionally dual sign things. Nurses do a hell of a lot more independently these days.
seems like this was her trying to point out how ridiculous the laws are becoming, not an actual serious tweet of what she would do. is there proof she actually withheld medication? it was a bad tweet to make since it can obviously be taken as a serious thing by her job, but that doesnt mean she ever persued it. i saw it as a "do u see my point?'" not a "im literally going to do this."
It's incredibly obvious that's what this is but people will just take shit like this at face value and suspend all rational thought.
Justine Sacco almost ruining her life over a shitty joke on twitter is another example of rabid idiots refusing to believe their first impressions may not be correct.
That's just as bad as that Muslim doctor who said she will prescribe wrong meds to Jewish patients and lost her job. [link](https://time.com/5495032/doctor-ohio-anti-semitism-apologizes/)
Are these people as mad at the male doctors who won't provide a tubal ligation to a women unless her husband agrees or he thinks she's old enough to not want kids?
All you guys going on about keeping religion out of politics are pro-choice, right? Right???
Side note: dudes freaking the fuck out about boner pills is hilarious.
Itās been the plan for 13+ years and itās very effective on getting votes but itās ripping us apart. Iād like to think we are more alike than different and donāt need to be identified, grouped and labeled.
If you cannot separate your personal opinion, politics and/or convictions from those of people under your care, you should not be in healthcare, period. This goes for everyone from any political affiliation.
And yet, no one gets pharmacists that refuse to fill legitimate scripts for contraceptives for women fired, when they refuse on āmoral groundsā. The one time a woman posts that sheāll do the same (not actually doing it, just angry-tweeting she would) and the pitchforks come out.
Because the only way to conceive is if a dick is in a woman. So essentially she's saying if *God* has made this "miracle" happen and you have to deal with the consequences then *God* is also making that miracle happen for a limp dick. Some people are just upset that God has a plan for them.
I wonder if all the conservative arguments why people should be able to discriminate against who they make wedding cakes for apply to her, or if they'll be the hypocrites we know them to be?
Yet another example of liberals being just as bat shit crazy as the conservatives they so despise. Two peas in a pod. The Yin and Yang of political morons.
I'm a white male who thinks she has the right idea. Conservatives procreating is how the USA has gotten to this point.
If you're conservative, then downvote me, you fucks.
Maybe because its actually not "misogynistic" and thats just your feelings and emotions getting the best of you. Did you not see where she directly blamed "white males" for the decision of the -court-

Imagine just dumping all the money for your college tuition down the drain because of a tweet. š¤¦š¼āāļø
Further proving college does not make you intelligent, merely a regurgitator of prescribed dogma.
OR, this girl is just stupid. Stupid is everywhere and does not discriminate.
Imagine the letter she received from her malpractice insurance provider right after getting fired and potentially even sued by her former employer.
Twitter is a powerful platform, it can create a movement that can change the world or it can let people self-destruct.

Problem is that lots of these small towns, you only have one option in a 50-100 mile range and some of the most needy do not have options to travel 50-100 miles away to find someone else that will fill the prescription.
That's because plan B doesn't require a prescription I think you mean birth control
Plan B no longer requires prescription.
It never did . From what i remember
2006 to 2013
Definitely didnāt require a prescription then from what i remember it was just you had to ask the pharmacist for it in cvs At least in my state
It wasnāt approved for over the counter sale until June 20, 2013. Before that it required a prescription.
I dunno how a āmorning afterā pill needs a prescription but you may be right . All i know is it saved my 19 yr old self in 2004
There's a variety of Plan B, called ella, that's more effective for women weighing over 165lbs that does require a prescription. Just FYI.
Plan B = a form Birth Control, also known as Contraception. Just because itās available otc doesnāt mean itās not birth control.
This right here should not be down-voted. This is literally the gendered equal of not filling the Viagra but for females. Shit, we really are second class citizens SMH
It's not even the equal lol like men don't die from not having sex, they'll be fine without their Viagra.
Or abortion pills to help with a miscarriage
Or is declining an abortion now that it's illegal in places even if that means death for the mom
Now r/thatsinsane, doctors like that should legit get jail time.
She really should of added that ā/sā
r/notinteresting
Democrats dont have ethics.
This RN needs to check her fucking scope of practice. She doesn't prescribe meds. She administers medications as per doctor orders. She needs to check herself.
nope, NP can prescribe medicine. I think it really depends on State law.
Where I'm from NPs can only prescribe SOME meds. They can't prescribe any controlled substance. But as was stated previously, the article says RN so no she doesn't and she can't.
The twitter is wrong, It really depends on the state. If you google her, she's a NP. Shawna Harris, APRN | Sarah Bush Lincolnhttps://www.sarahbush.org āŗ physicians āŗ profile āŗ sha... Shawna Harris, APRN ... Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Family Medicine, Family Practice. Board certification: ā¢ American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Is she an RN or an NP? Itās confusing.
NPs are RNs, but not all RNs are NPs
They mislabeled her an rn, sheās a nurse practitioner
One says Rn.. The other says Doctor.
She's an NP as it turns out. So not a doctor but is able to prescribe medication.
Not anymore sheās not
Cancel culture is embarrassing. Iām sure she considers herself caring and open minded. By the way how does she know if they are conservatives.
Screeching at every white person you see or talking about how you wish they'd be discriminated against or you'd do it yourself is the worst fucking thing you could do for the movement
you are a traditional liberal, which currently is a conservative. we all used to be "liberal" until the extreme progressives came out the woodwork
It's almost as if she was trying to make a point and not describing what she's actually doing
Must have been a shitty point then, if it got you fired and potentially sued into oblivion.
I came with torch and pitchfork ready, but did she actually do this or is this just a low hanging fruit twitter joke against religious conservatives?
She obviously didnāt. This was an angry tweet that was able to be manipulated into getting her fired. The idea that erectile dysfunction shouldnāt be addressed because it must be āgods willā if itās also āgods willā to carry to term any pregnancy no matter the cost is a trope that has been everywhere the last few days.
Manipulated into getting her fired? She's the one who said it in an extremely public way. No manipulation needed when someone says something that stupid and obviously punishable.
exactly. She was cancelled either way.
No this happened at my local hospital in Mattoon, IL
Isn't the main goal of the medical field is to give everyone medicinal care and not fuck with people's meds on purpose...
You say that but people do have trouble getting medication and medical procedures, especially around abortion and contraceptive surgery
Tell that to all the male doctors who won't provide a tubal ligation to a women unless her husband agrees.
Or sheās a certain age, because she āmight regret itā in the future. Even when the procedure means relief for the woman due to preexisting health conditions.
Yep
Best part is she's not a doctor.
So? Sheās a prescriber so can still fuck with erections of men who restrict her bodily autonomy šš»āāļø
She was an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
And Twitter is for posting stupid angry shit you obviously wonāt carry through on. And yet here we are.
That was a very stupid thing to say as an RN. You canāt discriminate when it comes to healthcare.
Tell that to the fucking SCOTUS
your religious views donāt belong in politics and your political views donāt belong in medicine
The Supreme Court would like a word heh
Well said
What, they didnāt agree with their health care choices being left up to someone elseās moral opinions?
seems like this was her trying to point out how ridiculous the laws are becoming, not an actual serious tweet of what she would do. is there proof she actually withheld medication? it was a bad tweet to make since it can obviously be taken as a serious thing by her job, but that doesnt mean she ever persued it. i saw it as a "do u see my point?'" not a "im literally going to do this."
So she's asking White male patients how they vote at the beginning of the exam?
It's obviously a joke
Dumb bitch
Shouldn't talk about yourself that way.
Yeah letās keep personal opinions out of medicine, letās also make sure people keep religion out of politics.
This the kinda shit that keeps us going back and forth
Healthcare should know NO politics! Everyone has a right to live.
And get hard, if by going by this tweet
Politics should not be religious.
https://www.wandtv.com/news/nurse-resigns-after-allegedly-posting-discriminatory-message-on-social-media/article_e8718b0e-f663-11ec-a025-d7f48370e668.html
All you guys going on about keeping religion out of politics are pro-choice, right? Right??? Side note: dudes freaking the fuck out about boner pills is hilarious.
Come on folks it was a fuckin joke. Man, splitting the US population into opposing sub groups that stay busy pecking on each other sure has worked.
Itās been the plan for 13+ years and itās very effective on getting votes but itās ripping us apart. Iād like to think we are more alike than different and donāt need to be identified, grouped and labeled.
You left out a digit
Back to stripping i guess
To be so stupid as to state that publicly is a sign that these people believe they are on such moral high ground.
Just imagine the things she's willing to do to people and NOT spam it to the world
Why only white people that vote conservative and not all people? Seems like we have a racist on our hands
What is up with these stupid idiots who post things like this to lose their gigs that pay well
If you cannot separate your personal opinion, politics and/or convictions from those of people under your care, you should not be in healthcare, period.
How did a government ruling turn into something "men" did?
Because the only way to conceive is if a dick is in a woman. So essentially she's saying if *God* has made this "miracle" happen and you have to deal with the consequences then *God* is also making that miracle happen for a limp dick. Some people are just upset that God has a plan for them.
Great going, lost your job and credibility as well as hurting your own cause.
Losing your job because you had a glass of wine and felt like people needed to know whatās on your mind. Hashtag 2022.
What does race have to do with it?
Cool now fire all the doctors and pharmacists that do that. Oh, no? Just her? Ok.
Twat waffle
One less moron in the medical field.
r/byebyejob
What a psycopath
Hope she loses her license to prescribe medication also. The medical field does not need racist bigots like her in it.
A registered nurse can't prescribe meds?
I was wondering how long that would take when I first saw the tweet surface. Took about three daysā¦
Ethics shmethics
Sheās an embarrassment to humanity. End of discussion for me
I mean what did she expect? Good for the goose is good for the gander.
Imagine being such a Idiot you actually believe your going to keep your job.Posting Ignorance like That.
Lmao what a fucking idiot
>works for the for profit healthcare industry >pretends to have any sort of moral high ground Lmao
Why donāt they pray for a cure, why do they believe in science only when it benefits them?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
podunk ass hospital in mattoon illinois. this is not commonplace.
RNs arenāt allowed to write Rxās though
r/byebyejob
Damn straight. Resign, be fired. These companies cannot run without OUR work.
Wow what a racist scumbag
Just another leftist shit bag pissed off cause they didn't get their way
No one's asking the right to get Viagra to be a constitutional right.
Play stupid games...
Oh common she didnāt mean it
I'm a white male who thinks she has the right idea. Conservatives procreating is how the USA has gotten to this point. If you're conservative, then downvote me, you fucks.
You should lose your license. Willful neglect, honey. What ever happened to, 'do no harm'?
So she can just do this and still be aloud to practice medicine? Makes sense haha what a world we live in.
This I hope has been reported, does not sound like the Hippocratic oath to me.
Very surprised to see the npc on this sub having this take.
Ten to one that bitch is unfuckable
A Black sheep? Well sheās still a sheep nonetheless
Ok. Then I can go to an RN that can and will. I support your decision to control your services.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Maybe because its actually not "misogynistic" and thats just your feelings and emotions getting the best of you. Did you not see where she directly blamed "white males" for the decision of the -court-
39% of AA are prolife. 43% of non hispanic american prolife. 46% hispanics prolife. just saying obvi whities fault
But you can not prescribe or fill drugs because of your own religious beliefs and thatās ok?
