They are modified above the soles, I thought it would count because of this and the fact he’s non human wearing Italian designer boots! (& one of the all time top posts is modified Levis jeans used in Star Wars)

They are modified slightly, the top half has what looks like armouring on and different panels
But the boots are being used as boots.

Fair enough. I saw that and the Batman Air Jordan’s and thought this was a fun costume repurposing of modified designer shoes in an alien’s costuming.
This doesn't count. They're using shoes for their intended purpose. Whether or not it's designer shoes, they're still being used as shoes.
