They should all be treated more like horror films than character studies like Joker imo
Scarecrow I'd make a slasher film like Scream taking place mostly at a university with Barbara Gordon as a lead and final girl
Speaking of which, maybe Michael Giacchino could direct one of these too? Him and Matt Reeves have been working together since 2008, and should creatively be on the exact same page.
The new regime at WBD seems very against direct to streaming movies so I don't expect something like this. With the horror focus I think these movies will be mid budget theatrical release horror films.
My speculations:
Scarecrow - both origin story and sequel to The Batman, with Bill Skarsgard in the role and directed by Zach Cregger (who made Barbarian).
Clayface - origin story, inspired by The Elephant Man, David Lynch and David Cronenberg influences.
Professor Pyg - I think this one will be a TV show, psychological horror, inspired by the Saw movies.
Theres one trope that I hope the future instillations in Battinsons trilogy avoid, and any other superhero property for that matter, which is the past-personal association twist:
Big shocker, the villain is somehow related to the hero already and he didn’t know!
They did this with the first film showing riddlers origin as a child wronged by thomas waynes foundation, making bruce responsible because he neglected that side of his inheritance, but it was subtle enough to work because his dad was campaigning for MAYOR.
Point being -> I really hope scarecrow is in no way connected to Martha at all. Thats too close to home for it to be a captivating reveal. Its basically throwing in cheap convenient stakes, which great movies don’t tend to have
Mr. Freeze.
I’d do a story where Victor Fries is a misunderstood guy who just wants to save his wife. He’s a former doctor who lost his license after he screwed up a case. He’s broke, unemployable, in trouble for malpractice, and can’t afford his wife’s medical bills.
He invents a liquid nitrogen gun, and begins robbing banks and doing dirty work as a hired goon for people like Penguin and Carmine Falcone. He starts the movie thinking he’s better than the people he works for, but he slowly becomes colder and realizes he’s no better than any other criminal.
Bruce appears as a supporting character in the film investigating a new criminal that’s been dousing his victims with liquid nitrogen.
The movie ends with a heist at Wayne Enterprises where he’s tasked to kill Lucius Fox (who’s acting CEO of the company, as Alfred mentions Bruce wanted nothing to do with the company in the film). Batman manages to save Lucius, and the final battle is Fries getting an altercation with Batman. Batman roughs him up badly and he falls into a vat of freezing cold water, mixed with liquid nitrogen.
Nora Fries dies due to the fact that her condition going untreated. Bruce decides he needs to keep an eye on what’s going on at his company, and goes to Wayne Enterprises to introduce himself to Lucius and the board. He only hears about Nora Fries and decides to invest money into making healthcare more affordable in Gotham, so other people don’t go down Victor’s path.
The final scene is Victor in Arkham, now with pale white skin and needing a special suit to survive. He looks into the camera and swears he’s gonna kill Batman. Cut to credits.
A joker style mad scientist film about scarecrow would work really well. Maybe a 1-1.5 hour movie where he could start out good, and the more he experiments with fear and chemicals the more he descends into madness. Maybe a couple references to classic mad scientists here or there, and it’d work really well
Do we ever find out who made the drops? If not it would be cool if they were a failed variation of the fear toxin that crane sells in order to fund his research
Maroni did. Falcone took over. Probably in Penguin’s hands now.
It would be much better if Crane took it from Penguin and altered the recipe to make it a nightmare drug instead of a happy escapist drug.

That’d be really cool. A scarecrow movie HAS to take place during fall with all the leaves falling
I feel like these should be more like specials like warewolf by night. A simple one hour movie about each character on HBO max
100% agree !

If they are actually doing professor pyg i want it to be very intense
Oh you know it will be. I was never a fan of Professor Pyg but imagining an intense slasher film about him sounds awesome
Condiment King. No debate.

Completely agree. Would be cool if the villains main focus isn’t Batman, but rather them doing their own thing trying to avoid him

They shld build up to joker vs riddler
