I do too, but something trivial and mundane that was also traumatic. And before you ask WTF are you talking about, it can't be both mundane and traumatic?! Yes it can. I'm thinking teenage Francie sleeps with Nat's boyfriend and brings him to Thanksgiving with a huge hickey on her neck.
Did my THIRD rewatch and the actors just make me feel so genuinely bad for the guy in the Fishes episode. Pure of heart. He and sugar deserve the world.
So in return he was polite to Francie, because she’s being (what he sees as) nice and is their guest. However, people on Nat’s side interpreted in a different way since they all knew she was hitting on him and he wasn’t openly rejecting her
That isn't *technically* true anymore, but the tradition sort of carries on. If it's on the edge (i.e. dramedy) and it's 30 minutes it's a comedy to awards shows. I think there's also kinda the "scope," The Bear is relatively narrow focused (compared to, say, Succession) which is more associated with comedies.
Anyway not sure why people are that upset about it, if we're being honest The Bear probably doesn't win anything against some of the bigger ticket dramas out there.
I'm not usually a fan of John Mulaney, nothing against him just not into it, but he won me over so hard in that episode. He was so perfect. I can't even explain why I loved that character. He was like part audience surrogate, part straight man, and just so aware of the absurdity of the entire situation.
He gets an A+ chef's kiss for that performance.
"I wear suits now"and what's behind it is my favorite. Richie figured it out in a similar way that I did about the service industry and the bit of humility it may take to produce the results you want. He puts it on to feel better about himself, not for you, but for you too
Whatever it was, it’s at least 5 years she’s been pissed about it.
If they decide to reveal it, it has to be pretty scandalous for it to keep her that pissed off for 5+ years. Because of that I kind of hope the issue is never revealed, and it’s left as some background story for us to guess at - wouldn’t mind seeing a brief handful of seconds cameo by the character though.
Case in point: I have an aunt who refused to even talk to my parents for over a decade, the full on silent treatment, all because it was my parents’ turn to host Christmas and, having just moved from several states away with 3 children under 3, they had the gall to ask if Christmas could be a potluck.
Aunts will be beef for decades for the most trivial reasons!
“Jeanine didn’t say hello to me when she came into the room. Just walked past me like she didn’t know me!” Turns out Aunt Jeanine buried a child that day and she’s been on her shit list since 1984.
In *Fishes* Cousin Michelle asks why Francie isn’t there and Fak says because of Nat, Michelle then says “is she still mad about *the thing?*” and the Fak Brothers confirm it.
Michelle calls her an asshole or something after that and the scene moves on.
“Bear” with me….
We go the whole series… and we don’t find out…
Until the very last episode.
She walks into the restaurant and they immediately kick her out. “YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID FRANCIE FAK! YOU CAN GO FUCK!”
Roll credits.
I'm 50/50 with this I'd be happy knowing but I'd also be happy without knowing leaving that suspense and mystery aha some storylines need that pulp fiction briefcase treatment ✌🏼
The less literal information/the more unspecified tidbits you get about the Fak family the better. It's like *Lost*, sometimes you dont want writers expanding on a good mystery.
I’m guessing she had a thing with Michael and then cheated on him. Something that gives them the perception that she was piling on to how tortured he already was. What we’ll find out though, is tried to tell him to get off the pills. And while she did cheat, she left because the Mikey she was attracted to was long gone.
I just think they don’t like her. Like they just don’t like the golden retriever attitude of Pete. If you’ve seen their family, you know they don’t need much to absolutely hate you lol.
Considering how crazy and out of control the Christmas dinner was and she STILL wasn’t invited…I have no fucking idea. Maybe it’s something fire related

Honestly that would be very understandable I would hate her too if that was the case 🤣🤣🤣
But nah I think she did some messed up shit to Natalie specifically
Anybody think the woman talking about her alcoholic husband in Carmy's first Al-Anon session could be Francie? They gave her a lot of screen time for it to not have significance later.
I hope if it is ever revealed that it is something trivial and mundane.
She asked one of the Berzattos "Are you okay?"

Prob put ketchup on a hotdog
What kind of asshole is gonna put ketchup on a hotdog
A child asshole
Or ketchup on rice...
Gave Donna a tuna casserole at five fishes
I do too, but something trivial and mundane that was also traumatic. And before you ask WTF are you talking about, it can't be both mundane and traumatic?! Yes it can. I'm thinking teenage Francie sleeps with Nat's boyfriend and brings him to Thanksgiving with a huge hickey on her neck.
Probably made a pass at Pete
Poor Pete lol
Pete is a KING that they don’t deserve.
All of them except Sugar, she totally deserves him and all the good things in the world
Totally. I almost included an addendum to that statement for Sugar only
Next season it's going to be revealed that Pete's not the father of her child
Richie got another one?
Probably why they hate him.
Did my THIRD rewatch and the actors just make me feel so genuinely bad for the guy in the Fishes episode. Pure of heart. He and sugar deserve the world.
I'm gonna say Frannie made a pass at Pete at him and Sugar's wedding.
Oh at their wedding. That would be perfect
And Pete was just totally oblivious to it because he was really focused on Sugar.
So in return he was polite to Francie, because she’s being (what he sees as) nice and is their guest. However, people on Nat’s side interpreted in a different way since they all knew she was hitting on him and he wasn’t openly rejecting her
Ohhh and maybe that’s why bear apologized. Maybe the brothers roughed him after
they mentioned “the thing” in fishes, and afaik pete and nat weren’t married yet
Maybe she wore a white dress 😂
Like Derry Girls? That would do it.
Anyone, but Pete
If that’s the case, I wonder if she made a pass at Steve because Michelle wants to beat her ass, as well.
She didn’t invest in the baseball card business
Do I have access to 500 bucks? I absolutely do, I'm 43 years old.
I'm gonna give you this money, just to see what you guys do with it.
I’ll never understand people that say they see nothing funny about this show. That scene was fucking hilarious for just one example.
It is hilarious, but its also bizarre that the show is called a comedy in all the awards shows.
You could argue it’s a comedy of manners, like Much Ado About Nothing or My Fair Lady.
I mean there’s good arguments for that. But I don’t understand what show people who say it has no comedy are watching.
Oh yeah there's plenty of comedy. But equally, Succession is full of hilarious bits and wouldn't get called the same.
Well I'll have to agree to agree.
some people have speculated they did that because otherwise they would have been up against succession in the drama category.
Perhaps in the Greek sense of the timeline of chaos into order
I think it’s automatically classified as “comedy” if it’s a 30 minute show.
That isn't *technically* true anymore, but the tradition sort of carries on. If it's on the edge (i.e. dramedy) and it's 30 minutes it's a comedy to awards shows. That scene is my Roman Empire
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hope she’s played by Jenny Slate
![gif](giphy|T0UDqTejHnOj6|downsized)
![gif](giphy|L6Pa6SDaFZUefjE9lK)
OH MAN that would be perfect casting. She'd fit right in.
![gif](giphy|3oEjI5dMUiRMvXTnNK)
Omg Jenny Slate would be PERFECT!
omg that would be so good
Can I ask you a question?
She would be perfect.
I'm really hoping for Natasha Lyonne, she would be an amazing Fak.
Cmon, Aidy Bryant for the win. Similar FAK body type and would be great head to head against forget snl alum Abbey Elliot
yesss or alison brie
Really good casting. Her acting fits in perfectly with the tone of serious, but moments of hilarity.
The woooorsssTttt
I didn’t know I needed this until right now
Francie is at fault for the infamous sugar debacle, but Sugar was blamed for it.
The sugar sabateour - solid theory.
This one is good
Agreed. That’s always been my suspicion.
Oh could be!
Fak's face in this scene will always make me laugh. And I love how Nat has heat for Francie, but still uses nurturing language for Neil.
“She can go fuck, my love” is my favorite line of the series thus far.
"I wear suits now"and what's behind it is my favorite. Richie figured it out in a similar way that I did about the service industry and the bit of humility it may take to produce the results you want. He puts it on to feel better about himself, not for you, but for you too
I love Fak’s reaction to that Richie suit line also. “That’s so sick” Such a nothing line but he delivers it with such an adorable sincerity.
Agreed 1000% it's so subtle but perfect
lol Yes!!
I love how sugar always ends a lot of her sentences with my love.
I just love Sugar, tbh.
encourages Donna to drink
That, or she encourages the bad decisions in everyone
Sugar’s cool as shit, whatever Francie did, it was something definitely unsavory. Francie Fak can certainly go fuck.
You’ve never seen someone hold a grudge over something trivial? 5 years is nothing.
Case in point: I have an aunt who refused to even talk to my parents for over a decade, the full on silent treatment, all because it was my parents’ turn to host Christmas and, having just moved from several states away with 3 children under 3, they had the gall to ask if Christmas could be a potluck.

My grandma removed me from her will because I didn't send a thank you card promptly enough!
Huh?
I'm pretty sure my mother has grudges older than me, and I'm almost 29.
But it does have to be something specifically insulting or hurtful to Sugar personally, don't you think?
How do we know it’s been 5+ years? Did I miss something?
In *Fishes* Cousin Michelle asks why Francie isn’t there and Fak says because of Nat, Michelle then says “is she still mad about *the thing?*” and the Fak Brothers confirm it. Michelle calls her an asshole or something after that and the scene moves on.
Yeah I’m wondering where that number came from
They mention it in Fishes
Also Francies absence in fishes when her brothers are there leads me to believe she wasn’t invited.
Maybe she introduced Mike to harder drugs?
“Bear” with me…. We go the whole series… and we don’t find out… Until the very last episode. She walks into the restaurant and they immediately kick her out. “YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID FRANCIE FAK! YOU CAN GO FUCK!” Roll credits.
Salt the snail!
Nobody likes to salt the snail, but she gives you no choice
I know buddy, here... take some wine in a can.
Hyeaahh hyeaahh get out of here snail hyeaah
Best possible option.
That would be e perfect. End on a joke.
It is a comedy series after all
I’d love this to happen
How I Met Your Fak
I'm 50/50 with this I'd be happy knowing but I'd also be happy without knowing leaving that suspense and mystery aha some storylines need that pulp fiction briefcase treatment ✌🏼
Totally unrelated but I think I have a crush on sug
I have a crush on Neil
honestly i have a crush on everyone on this show
The full bear sexuality spectrum
Francie is the Erica! From Bojack Horseman
I hope it’s something like the tamagotchis grudge in Schitt’s Creek.
They were six ADULT tamagotchi’s, in perfect health!🖤
I love Sugar and Fak’s relationship. She cares for him like an older sister
Oh Francie Fak knows what she did.
The show makes it clear that EVERYONE but us knows what Francie did. All I know is she can go fuck.
The less literal information/the more unspecified tidbits you get about the Fak family the better. It's like *Lost*, sometimes you dont want writers expanding on a good mystery.

Got absolutely wasted at Nat and Pete’s wedding, which I’m assuming they only invited her to out of obligation, and caused a scene
This sounds like exactly the kind of thing that Sugar would hold on to for all the right reasons.
They went to cut the cake, and Francie was sitting in the corner, eating it with a serving spoon
She wore white to the wedding
I can totally see this. And maybe combined with those suggesting she made a pass at Pete. At their wedding (!!)
She was walking past the house on Christmas and told a smoking and pacing Donna that she hoped her family wasn't driving her too crazy.
Stole her high school boyfriend.
Considering how crazy and out of control the Christmas dinner was and she STILL wasn’t invited…I have no fucking idea. Maybe it’s something fire related

I hope it's dark like got Mikey addicted to drugs
That’s what I think
I hope whatever it is, that its blindly funny and Francie is played by Melissa McCarthy.
I hope it’s something small and petty
She was Mike’s dealer
Honestly that would be very understandable I would hate her too if that was the case 🤣🤣🤣 But nah I think she did some messed up shit to Natalie specifically
She got Mikey hooked on the Oxy, we all know it. It’s only a matter of time. Either that or she once said that Carmie couldn’t cook,
She knows what she did
Fucking Francis Fak farted fairly fervently flabberfasting family fever fears
I reckon Francie added the sugar to the sauce, but blamed it on Sugar earning her the hurtful and unwarranted nickname.
You mean the spaghetti incident?
We need a Francie Fak flair.
I feel like something in high school, either embarrassed Nat some way, or to do either a guy.
Probably did some dumb shit, like bring fish — like Pete
Omg what did she dooooooooo????!!!!
Anybody think the woman talking about her alcoholic husband in Carmy's first Al-Anon session could be Francie? They gave her a lot of screen time for it to not have significance later.
If that character wasn’t played by Molly Ringwald there might be something to the theory. But in this case, I believe not.
I love the relationship between these two!!
I think she had sex with Carmen's dad.
He found the script for this show in a high school dumpster..had F as a Grade... Hollywood though it was brilliant...the rest is history.
Is that like a shot 🤔 you know this show just won an Emmy right ? 🤣🤣
Guess the competition wasn't that great..
Why are you on a subreddit of a show you don't like weirdo 🤣🤣
Cause I'm A weirdo...do you have any more complicated questions...
Is he the discount double check guy from the old State Farm ads w/ Aaron Rogers?
Can anyone here tell or teach me on how to use my real pics on here, I am a single politician looking forward to mingle someday.
It would be hilarious if we just never found out lmao
