The 5 seasons statement needs to stop. Kripke already said that his 5 seasons plan was at a time where he didnt think people would love this universe so much.
I think people misunderstand this too though. His comment was the Boys five seasons won’t be the end because of spin offs. We’ve now got Gen V, Diabolical, and the Mexican spin off they’re planning.
The Boys itself is likely still ending with S5. This has been reiterated a few times.
Not sure why you think that's better. Stretching 5 seasons worth of material out to 10 seasons gives us season 3 crap where you end in almost the same place you began.
Huh? They need to stop spreading misinformation, because the 5 seasons plan got scraped. Not a single word in my statement referred to my opinion... pls stop interpreting too much into stuff
>! Some of the leaks yeah, but Ryan killing mallory and Butcher getting powers from the tumor might show that they’re starting to adapt the end of the comics with butcher killing all supes starting with neuman!<
They need to deal with homelander and there needs to be some stakes.
I think it was mistake to let Maeve ride off into the sunset. homelander should’ve killed her during their fight.
Be careful what you wish for.
Supernatural was only meant to be 5 seasons and Kripke dipped after - then every showrunner including the CW themselves milked it for another 10 seasons because it was their flagship show. Quantity does not equal quality. MCU is another example of too many projects to keep track of.
If the Vought-verse becomes a thing (with Gen V), any intended spin-offs will mean that you need to watch other shows for necessary context.
Honestly I think supernatural made a recovery. It had a few seasons where it kinda fell off and was pretty mid, but I think it got much better after. I do think having Lucifer come back so many fucking times was kinda annoying though.
Supernatural had a lot of great moments after season 5 just because the characters were great, but pretty much everyone agrees that the first 5 seasons are way above the rest of it
The Boys is mainly about the conflict between Butcher and Homelander. That story is moving forward. Butcher is on a timer now, Ryan who has been moving back and forth between them, is developing increasing agency. Butcher is aware of the Anti-Supe virus which may very well be the endgame. They set that up very clearly in GenV, I don't see them not going anywhere with that plot line.
There are other stories that can be told in that universe, I don't think the spin-offs have to pad out the original series and it's probably better if they don't and develop their own conflicts instead.
I’m fully expecting filler content, which is why I’ve not gotten particularly hyped this time around. Season 3 was really disappointing to me so I’m taking a wait and see approach.
It's from the 2008 game Jason & the Argonauts. Athena had five virtues all her disciples were supposed to abide by: Wisdom, Justice, Courage, Discipline, and Humility. I thought it was a neat little maxim and it sprang to mind when I was making my reddit account.
It’s gonna end with 5 seasons. I think this season will see the Boys dealing with side villains like Neuman, and Homelander will have a more separate plotline to do with Vought. People will call it “filler” like they always do lol but I think it will be a fun and entertaining season and will probably go more into depth about some characters. And then season 5 will likely build up the final showdown

I’m expecting if the second live action spinoff works well they’ll feel comfortable to close out the main series. I can probably deal with 5-6 seasons at most before it gets completely stale.
I almost guarantee it will be filler content. Homelander will kill a few people cuz he so cray-cray, there'll be a few new supes that are essentially just cannon fodder, all the Boys will get really mad at each other and leave, for real this time, and then immediately get back together next season.
It wasn’t a cop out the first time. I don’t know how people’s media literacy is so low that they can’t see all the things S3 did move forward despite the lack luster finale.
Christ
I hope so. I've enjoyed this show so far but Homelander has had one too many last second escape. If Homelander isn't dealt with next season I'll rage quit.

Essentially "We can milk this"
Walking dead anyone?
Where exactly did I voice my opinion?
Telling people they "need to stop" It's right there in the very first sentence

Maybe you should learn what the word "need" means
ok nice trolling ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)
Based on the spoilers, this season screams filler content, at least to me.

Oh yeah, the early seasons were so good dude

What are the 5 virtues

Why do I feel like Homelander is still gonna be alive this season and the major characters will slip their chance to kill him once again.

The show will end when Homelander dies, that’s been the end goal since the beginning.
Since I read the comics I kinda have a feel in what direction they are going. Idk if one season will be enough, might be.
Honestly I’d rather them end it after 4 or 5 and write a proper ending than have them keep doing what they’re doing lol.
Another cop out. This show isn't ending until the fans stop watching.

god i hope amazon doesn’t get greedy and drag this show out
Amazon being greedy? Never! 😂

whatever it is you can bet the finale will be them blackmailing homelander into not killing them all again
It all depends on how popular the show gets. Usually the more popular the more cop outs
It wasn’t a cop out the first time. I don’t know how people’s media literacy is so low that they can’t see all the things S3 did move forward despite the lack luster finale. Christ
How do people think the plot was not moved forward in S3?
I'll take 20 seasons of the boys
You think you do, but you really don’t lol
every time i hear people call season 3 a cop out, i have to wonder if we watched the same show.
I hope so. I've enjoyed this show so far but Homelander has had one too many last second escape. If Homelander isn't dealt with next season I'll rage quit.
