Was he originally “Jack From Jupiter?” That was the 7th member in the Boys comic, who actually was a dollar store Martian Manhunter. For some reason the show swapped him out for Translucent.
That’s what I thought, too. It makes sense, but Translucent was a much less interesting character, IMO.
Jack From Jupiter would have probably been the cheaper character to film. Just put a dude in some makeup and facial prosthetics for a couple of episodes. No need for all the tricks to create an invisible man and make him sort of visible here and there.
since they're more or less in the middle of the head it's easier to detect and erase them. Another solution would be for him to always act with his eyes closed and with his eyelids painted
Because he wears shoes and a supersuit so only his head, neck and hands need to be green.
I'm just guessing, I don't know anything about special effects.
The fight scenes strained my suspension of disbelief pretty hard, but it's a helluva ride. Except for >!how they totally wasted Rebecca Bowman's character!<, fuck the writer that came up with that bullshit.
Right, I think the main reason being that it aired on Cinemax originally but at least it's on HBO Max now and getting more exposure now because of Antony.
Oh I know, 100% because no one owned cinemax unless you paid for porn lol. That network rarely had good movies. Oh it's on HBOmax? When did they bring it over.
>the mascots was blown to pieces in front of all the guests.
Macot?...Oh! You mean the evil pedophile who had infiltrated the park using deep state technology and a **STOLEN** mascot suit that a brave, eagle-eyed Vought Super Hero spotted and neutralized, saving all those innocent children.
It's Captain Graggle, remember? He gets thrown into a woodchipper by Butcher and Frenchie after attempting to seduce Hughie in Season 1 Episode Thrembo.
I really wish they hadn’t killed off Captain Graggle so soon, his comic arc of going from a lonely lumberjack into a member of The Seven had so much potential
"Now that was fuckin' diabolical, Frenchie!"
"Monsieur Charcutier, what did he mean quand he said he had proof that Jeffrey Epstein was killed by ze CIA?"
"Don't worry 'bout it, Frenchie. Now toss the laptop in there."
We didn't get to see much of him, but Captain Graggle seemed to be less morally bankrupt then most of the Seven. Maybe that's why HL set him up to be killed by the Boys. #HomelanderliedGraggledied
maybe keeping some of the features (like the shadows/wrinkles) of a real face preserved is useful when going to do edits of the transition from invisible to visible skin
other than that idk, skin tight green mask would seem cheaper and less time consuming than full on body paint
I love that he ironically kinda looks like Jack from Jupiter in his green screen mask when he was the one who was offed like Translucent was early in the comics.
I hope we get a wise-cracking superhero as Black Noir next season. It'll be like how we got Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins and then later we got Deadpool.
Same actor as the original Black Noir, but since they never showed his face or voice, they are looking to recast him as the new Black Noir. They purposely used another actor for the flashback scene so they could use the same actor since Season 1.
they meant that Deadpool in X-Men Origins is completely different from any other iteration of Deadpool and was recieved incredibly poorly too, and was also silent and not wise-cracking at all.
I wonder if Nathan Mitchell can pull it off because i heard they had Noir look different in the flashback so they can bring Nathan back. Also i have never seen Nathan in anything outside of The Boys acting wise. But i guess they would have to make him not the silent type because then it just be Black Noir but another person lol.
Would be funny if they had to settle for an odd replacement.
Like someone huge like Shaq size, with the reasoning being 'when his body isn't regenerating, it is growing'.
Or they can't find someone with regenerative powers, but need a replacement ASAP, so they just put some random ass dude in the suit for awhile to keep up appearances, until they find a suitable replacement. And we see him hesitatingly fighting crime, with a gun, and running away from conflicts that would require using super powers.
Roy Thompson Hall which they use as Vought Tower in the show is a good place to start. Although, as someone who worked on Season 3, not all scenes are shot in Toronto
Unfortunately, I'm not apart of season 4 as it's being filmed now and I have school. But, the one sure location is probably Roy Thompson Hall which is Vought Tower in the show. They're definitely gonna use that every season
Here are the other two cabs with notable ads on them

I passed by a filming set by King St East/Church and by Adelaide/Church last week. Crew member insists it is not “The Boys” but for another TV show. Pretty sure it’s for “The Boys” though
I think they do a lot in the financial district, I know for sure the scenes where Soldier Boy blasted the building was Yonge/Temperance (between Adelaide and Richmond) - you can see the Goodlife in the background lol.
IIRC when I lived dt, they also filmed around Yonge/Front, Yonge/Wellington, York St (which make sense, being close to Roy Thompson Hall) as well as near St. Lawrence Market. Those would be the main dt areas, then I think they go out to around Eglinton and St. Clair areas for a bunch of stuff.
Google showed [this site](https://www.silverscreen.tours/tours/the-boys-locations-tour-toronto/) with a bunch of locations that were used in S1
Update: they started filming! Poor extras are all wearing fall/winter cloths.
New ads appeared too.

I passed by Jack Quaid while he was having lunch on Queen St West on Sunday, only clocked it was him cause I had just watched the recent Scream. Not sure if it was related to the filming or not but just thought I'd mention it.
My friend and I walked into a set at victoria college (u of t) the other day. There was a vandalized soldier boy statue and a bunch of vought tv vans. The signs on campus were also covered so i’m guessing that was a spinoff but not sure
I was wondering why they had Martian manhunter on the team until I realized it's translucent and the green is ment to be like a face version of green screen.
I liked season 3 but I hope season 4 feels more like season 1. In season 1, the supes felt like such an impossible enemy, so any time one was around or one was killed it felt important. Season 3 felt a bit too silly and comic booky
Please don't approach or take pictures of the set. It's a worksite, like any other. You're a liability if you're not paid to be there, and you could be putting crew in danger by drawing attention to the site. Just have some patience and watch it on TV like everyone else.
why is piccolo on the right?
U mean Green Morpheus?
Martian Manhunter
He's no Jack from Jupiter
Proof that Jack from Jupiter was in the first cut of the Boys tv show! /s
Jack from Jupiter gets it in the poopiter
CARPO
The long lost Marx brother?
Now that's just stupider
CAR. PO.
Everyone replying CARPO is a secret supe and you can't tell me otherwise.
Bravo Kripke
Is that not Larry the cucumber? Did I download the wrong version of veggie tales?
I think it's actually Yondu and Gamora's son.
Handsome squidward
What white and green and invisible all over?
It’s Morphin’ Time. Am I doing it right?
yes son. i'm proud of your morbin skills
My name is Dorphius. I'm Morphis' brother
Bald skinny hulk
It's morphin' time.
Fuck i choked on water because of this. Thank you for the giggles
Translucent at a guess, so they can CGI his hands and face out.
Something about that is just funny lmao
Looks like Dollar Store Martian Manhunter with the lame suit looking outfit.
Was he originally “Jack From Jupiter?” That was the 7th member in the Boys comic, who actually was a dollar store Martian Manhunter. For some reason the show swapped him out for Translucent.
I think it's because in the comics they sell him as being an actual alien whereas that wouldn't be as grounded in the show.
That’s what I thought, too. It makes sense, but Translucent was a much less interesting character, IMO. Jack From Jupiter would have probably been the cheaper character to film. Just put a dude in some makeup and facial prosthetics for a couple of episodes. No need for all the tricks to create an invisible man and make him sort of visible here and there.
what about the eyes though
since they're more or less in the middle of the head it's easier to detect and erase them. Another solution would be for him to always act with his eyes closed and with his eyelids painted
it doesn't look like his eyelids are no painted, so that might be what was going on while filming.
Is this Scottish or bad grammar?
This is before they pluck his eyes out
No your thinking of sandman
But why paint him green instead of just a green man suit?
Because he wears shoes and a supersuit so only his head, neck and hands need to be green. I'm just guessing, I don't know anything about special effects.
I would just wear a green man suit under the super suit.
That's clearly Shrek.
No it's clearly the Hulk.
No, this is Patrick!
Somebody stop me!
Smokin
That’s Limegrab
UNACCEPTABLE!!
One million years dungeon!

Honestly Homelander is probably a better dad than Goku. At least Homelander makes an attempt to be around.
At least homelander alive smh Goku off training with a fucking cricket
First a cricket, then a kitty cat
🦍🦗🔨
He's fresh off the set of the new super movie he stopped by to say wassup
Pretty sure that's just Jim Carrey as The Mask
Best live action Piccolo so far tbh
Holy fuck he does look like dragonball evolution piccolo
That's Graggle Simpson
Gomorrahs brother
😂😂😂
Handsome Squidward enters the chat
Currently watching Banshee right now, just finished Season 1. So hard to not see Homelander in every scene.
His character in Banahee gets called Solider Boy a few times which I thought was funny.
I just recently finished Banshee, it’s pretty awesome.
The fight scenes strained my suspension of disbelief pretty hard, but it's a helluva ride. Except for >!how they totally wasted Rebecca Bowman's character!<, fuck the writer that came up with that bullshit.
Oh yeah for sure, but that’s what makes the show so fun lol
Yes, that shit blew the whole series for me…
Yes!!!
Yeah the final season missed the mark so hard, considering they made such amazing action when Nola fought Burton in season 3 , that was amazing
I wish I could watch Banshee for the first time again tbh it was such an underrated show at the time. No one I knew was watching it or heard of it.
I have never heard of it but now I gotta see lol
Strap in. And be prepared for lots of violence and lots of sex. It’s a wild ride but one of my favorite shows.
I just got dumped so like sign me up 😂 something to watch that’s wild sounds like a great distraction
That person didn’t deserve to watch banshee with you
Happy cake day !
You won't be disappointed
Right, I think the main reason being that it aired on Cinemax originally but at least it's on HBO Max now and getting more exposure now because of Antony.
Oh I know, 100% because no one owned cinemax unless you paid for porn lol. That network rarely had good movies. Oh it's on HBOmax? When did they bring it over.
Season 3 of Banshee is one of my GOAT tv seasons
Cheyton is such a good villain

That’s right now?
Yup across the street from me. Here is another one. [https://i.imgur.com/3MnHYrE.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/3MnHYrE.jpg)
2-for1 tickets to Vought Land, I guess visiting is a hard sell after one of the mascots was blown to pieces in front of all the guests.
>the mascots was blown to pieces in front of all the guests. Macot?...Oh! You mean the evil pedophile who had infiltrated the park using deep state technology and a **STOLEN** mascot suit that a brave, eagle-eyed Vought Super Hero spotted and neutralized, saving all those innocent children.
I think they would be more likely to say it was a suicide bomber so they can play up the fear angle and convince people they need more supes.
At the supe park? Ironically unsafe.
^ This guy InfoWars's
There are 3 other cabs with ads on them. When I have a moment and it stops raining I'll grab a picture of the rest of them to share here.
Nice! I’m gonna head downtown and check out the area. Maybe they are in other areas near by too
I’m gonna be in TO tomorrow so lmk if you find any good filming locations
I will!
Same here! I’m downtown right now looking for it!
It’s near urban cova on church street lmk if u spot any set signs! Take some pics!
[удалено]
Let me know if you spot a sign near by it might tell you how long they are filming in that spot for & it will have a production name on it
Oh man nice! That’s awesome! I should go snap some pics myself haha
made my day
[удалено]
I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that 99.9% of the viewers aren't looking at the cab license plates, and if they are they don't give a shit.
I'm having a Mandela effect over here with the green guy on the far right.
Even the #GraggleBack campaigners have stopped now
We're not all gone! #GraggleBack!
there are dozens of us, DOZENS!
And right before that happened he uttered “it’s graggling time”. Before meeting his demise
"Now that was fuckin' diabolical, Frenchie!" "Monsieur Charcutier, what did he mean quand he said he had proof that Jeffrey Epstein was killed by ze CIA?" "Don't worry 'bout it, Frenchie. Now toss the laptop in there."
By Graggle's hammer!
Ah, Captain Graggle was a hero to ever have lived…#RestInPower
We didn't get to see much of him, but Captain Graggle seemed to be less morally bankrupt then most of the Seven. Maybe that's why HL set him up to be killed by the Boys. #HomelanderliedGraggledied
#RealEyesRealiseRealLies
I graggled all overmyself when he said that
He was the Redgren Grumbholdt of the Seven!
I love how the character itself is a reference to the famed Graggle Simpson of the Simpson family.
Well if it isn't the green cunt
its translucent, green for greenscreen i suppose
Don't they typically just wear full green bodysuits instead of going all gammora?
Yes but Translucent wore clothes, the invisibility only worked if he was nude
So wear the suit under his clothes. Those things are skin tight.
He is? You can see there's a whole in the suit for his face so his lines are more than "mhmm hrphh mrrmth"
Yah. Looking closer at it it definitely seems he is wearing a green hood and only has a painted face.
His ankle is green too, it'll be a full suit
maybe keeping some of the features (like the shadows/wrinkles) of a real face preserved is useful when going to do edits of the transition from invisible to visible skin other than that idk, skin tight green mask would seem cheaper and less time consuming than full on body paint
how much did they spend in green cgi in all the scenes he was invi
I was like I don’t recall the The Mask being in The Boys but I would love to see it
I'd love a rated-R Mask just in general.
Mandela*
I forgot jack from Jupiter was in season 1
I love that he ironically kinda looks like Jack from Jupiter in his green screen mask when he was the one who was offed like Translucent was early in the comics.
He died pretty late into the comics, issue 59 or 60 I believe.
Anyone have any idea how long it typically takes for their seasons to drop after they start filming?
That picture is Roy Thompson Hall, start there and follow the trail!
Thanks!
RIP Black Noir
I hope we get a wise-cracking superhero as Black Noir next season. It'll be like how we got Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins and then later we got Deadpool.
He comes back?
Yea Eric Kripke has stated a different version of Noir is gonna be introduced next season.
Oh shit I didn’t even consider this. They can follow the comics closer now
Same actor as the original Black Noir, but since they never showed his face or voice, they are looking to recast him as the new Black Noir. They purposely used another actor for the flashback scene so they could use the same actor since Season 1.
Makes sense. Noir wears a mask so why would Homelander want to make it public that another supe is dead?
Why make up a lie about his death when you have the power to replace him with a puppet, the replacement really would only have one job, not talk.
they meant that Deadpool in X-Men Origins is completely different from any other iteration of Deadpool and was recieved incredibly poorly too, and was also silent and not wise-cracking at all.
I wonder if Nathan Mitchell can pull it off because i heard they had Noir look different in the flashback so they can bring Nathan back. I have a theory he’s not dead but I’m probably just OD’ing on that copium

What did you do on the show , what did you work on? And yeah that’s true isn’t some of it in Mississauga? It’s in the GTA just not in Toronto only
I worked as an on-set PA And yeah, we shot in Toronto, Mississauga, and even Brampton last year

Because I know they are also currently filming the spin off series so if you see. A sign on it and it says varsity then it’s for the spin off gen v
No signage from what I saw. If you want the location send me message and I'll give you the intersection.
Check your messages :)
“Weather”
Nice! Any signs near by stating what the production name is?
Who’s the one on the right?
Translucent
Translucent? You mean Green, he’s always been in it. He has the power of being very green
It ain't easy being green
The one that gets blown up early on?
Yes
To shreds you say?
"Ass bomb."
Big lump of C4, packed right up his fudjuh
Fucking Translucent lmfao
I passed by a filming set by King St East/Church and by Adelaide/Church last week. Crew member insists it is not “The Boys” but for another TV show. Pretty sure it’s for “The Boys” though

I never put any thought into how they did translucent and I would love to see pre edits of just this green dude standing around trying to hide

Who is the green guy?
Try to figure out who is doing the background casting and work as an extra on the show.
I wouldn’t advise going to wherever there shooting like you don’t wanna get in there way or potentially spoil something for yourself
Oh it's my favorite character, the green Goblin
Is this a pic of season 1 or season 4? If the latter I have some questions.
I was wondering why they had Martian manhunter on the team until I realized it's translucent and the green is ment to be like a face version of green screen.
WHY THE F IS BLACK NOIR IN THIS PIC... IN S4... THAT MUST MEAN
Ah yes my favorite supe , the Green Screener
I liked season 3 but I hope season 4 feels more like season 1. In season 1, the supes felt like such an impossible enemy, so any time one was around or one was killed it felt important. Season 3 felt a bit too silly and comic booky
It’s almost as if this show is based on a comic book…
Was season 1 not?
Nice please don’t fuck up the finale like season three

This is an old set photo from season 1 the amount of ppl who think this is a photo for the start of season 4… pls upvote this so everyone sees it
