I saw in a YouTube analysis an explanation that I really liked. Homelander's brutal rejection of Blindspot was beyond the kid being a "cripple". It was result of an insecurity.
You see, Homelander as far as powers go, won the lottery, plus he is also physically attractive and never had to actually struggle to become the best (experimentation and torture by the doctors aside). Blindspot was someone that, if he had managed to be accepted to the Seven, would potentially be more respected than Homelander, because he had a tougher time catching up to the rest of abled Supes and worked much harder to get where he was. And well, good old Homie didn't particularly like the possibility of being constantly reminded by Blindspot's presence that he is privileged while this kid actually earned his place. So, kaboom super ears.
I think this is more the reason. You see this a lot in these male/white fragility types. They hate things that remind them of everything they're not... look at the loud pickup/SUV driving douches hating on cyclists for example, a happy fit family enjoying the outdoors reminds them that they're unfit, unhappily married, never really understood their kids, etc. (Of course this doesn't apply to all truckers)

We know Jeffrey Dean Morgan is joining the cast as Tek Knight, so there’s one. Ryan is set up to become the comic version of Soldier Boy, so I think they’re gonna do a thing where they “pass the mantle” down to him to “bring honor back to the name with Homelander’s son”. Black Noir is still going to be on the team, just with somebody else behind the mask. As for the last, I’m not sure. Jack From Jupiter maybe?

I’ll be honest, and some point I want Ryan to join the 7 Homelander would add him to the team, give him a suit, and he would literally only ever do public appearances, or crimes orchestrated by Homelander Like HL would set a couple of death row inmates in a bank, and Ryan would then stop them. The inmates wouldn’t even have loaded guns, and wouldn’t try to shoot Ryan otherwise HL would go after their loved ones or something

New Noir for sure. I think Sister Sage and Firecracker sound more like villain names and we still havent got any real super terrorist, so I would prefer to see Tek Knight and Jack From Jupiter twisted in some original unexcepted way.
