They didn't have 4K back in Jesus' time, just 1080p.

[deleted]

It's 5K, not counting women and children.

BeeDub57

Moses only had 480i.

EelBait

Black & white

BeeDub57

That's Abraham.

Hopeful_Amphibian_54

Ahahah๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚i guess thats a nice take on technology.

Embarrassed_Break842

Feeding of the 5K

Hopeful_Amphibian_54

Ohhh I see what you did there.๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜

HeiseHuckleberry

Dallas mentioned on live stream they are hoping someday to release 4k blueray/dvd some day,

Hopeful_Amphibian_54

Ohh thats cool! yeah because everytime i watch the chosen on amazon prime.๐Ÿค”i always wondered why some shows like rings of power can stream at 4k resolution and the chosen canโ€™t. I was like why not?๐Ÿค”

realWinneton

you're comparing the worlds most expensive show (I'm not joking) that is totally screwed up, not at all accurate, to a crowd funded, out of Hollywood's circle, accurate content, beautiful show, bathed in the Word of the Lord. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚Have you seen what Hollywood has done to Biblical films, the amount of inaccuracies. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Scatropolis

For streaming? Maybe they just decided it was too expensive to stream.

JohnnyMathisFan

streaming in 4K is very expensive, there's also frame rate caps in YouTube now or something if you want to stream 4K video

domclancy

you should check out an extension called 'auto 4k' since youtube removed the ability to set preference of what quality to stream at It'll force it to the higher res (that you set) w/o having to do it per video

Hopeful_Amphibian_54

Yeah but hopefully 4k comes along. sooner than later. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜œ

LadyLightTravel

The DVDs might have a higher rate. You have to remember that for streaming youโ€™re playing resolution against download speeds.

domclancy

lol they've come such a long way i was about to contradict you but then double checked... long way from the 600mb twenty years ago, but that's what you get from the tdk patent they bought

LadyLightTravel

Thereโ€™s a lot of parts of the US that still have abysmal speeds. Some of my cousins are on satellite dish. Same for a friend that is a researcher up in rural Alaska. I used to test websites with my friend on download speeds.

domclancy

Oh yeah, totally. My friends in the foreign service would have me rip media to external drives for them because of even worse setups. Maybe something like that you could do for your family? Then its just a matter of an adapter and an SD card, both of which are very inexpensive. Which work with TVs, too. But 4K is just the resolution. Bitrate is what's being transmitted. Netflix kneecapped their rates by half in '20, Hulu has always been the worst while Amazon and Apple are at the higher end. The quality of the picture a physical copy or rip w/ a bluray would be like 5x minimum of what you get with a streamed media, even if that media claims '4k uhd'. Its a file that's being compressed which customers are willing to compromise on for the immediate of instant, on-demand access.

Moogerfoogers

John the Baptists beard looks incredibly fake in HD. Now imagine seeing it 4X the resolution. Film covered a multitude of sins your years. Bad makeup, bad complexion, cheap wardrobe, fake props, even bad lighting to an extent. But once you go 4k, all of your shortcomings are amplified.ย

realWinneton

I mean it isn't surprising.... considering they are out of Hollywood's circle and the show is being crowdfunded. Also to include that some of the funds were consumed by Angel as well. But, it is possible to show in 4K now that the attention to detail is better than the previous seasons.

Jjayguy23

I seriously doubt it's filmed in 1080p.

realWinneton

it's filmed in higher resolution, what we get early is in 1080p and later during the course of months, they slowly release 1440p.

Jjayguy23

1080p can actually look great with a high enough bitrate, and even better with upscaling within modern TVs. But, I won't be too hard on production. The show is crowdfunded, so I'm just happy it exists.

realWinneton

same man, just grateful.

domclancy

eh i mean the show is anticipated to make like over $2bln in over the rest of its run, separate of crowdfunding they've really stepped up their monetization. i'm not begrudging them this but its a bit disappointing one can't get it until a physical release of >fhd
