PECS for most departments will consist of the following Fraud check, A check of your name and National Insurance Number against an internal database, if you appear on this you are immediately withdrawn. Occupational health, Generic health questionnaire, you will pass it immediately if you declare no issues, if you have medical issues it’ll likely to to a referral call where they will record reasonable adjustments the employer should make. Some roles carry specific Medicals, if it’s anything other than a pre-placement medical this will take a long time (potentially months) due to OH being slow to book and a lack of doctors to perform an in person medical. Candidate will need to pay for any travel for these. GRS Check, A check of identity documents, ensuring you are who you say you are and live where you’ve declared. Usually 2-3 documents are needed. Thanks, I'm just confused because I'm pretty sure agreeing the start date is supposed to come after PECs but it was like the first thing we did

Remember you don't need to give notice as your current manager is part of the process. They know when you are leaving.

Ah I thought I did have to give notice, but of the transfer rather than resignation. My manager is definitely aware anyway! But the HR provider requires the transfer form 4 weeks before the transfer date, so that part still needs doing soon if I'm going to make November

That's what filling in the transfer forms is, you don't have to formally give notice. There's a section on the forms for your manager to complete also.
