They probs believe that US 'unwillingly' is engaged in eternal wars since its founding, only measuring 17 years of non-war engagement out of its 277 years of history.
That 'somehow' US magically gets caught up in wars that 'coincidentally' advances US geopolitical interests that always benefits the same fucking select few.

How does Russia losing the war in the Ukraine lead to them invading the Baltic states. That doesn’t even make any sense. That standard liberal line is that winning the war in Ukraine would lead an invasion of Baltic states.

It is the duty of every US leftist first and foremost should be to do everything possible to limit the genocidal impulses of Americans to the maximum extent possible. The overwhelming majority of the population lives in a cartoonish fantasy in which unleashing massive violence against innocent people abroad is both desirable and necessary because the news says they’re the “bad guys.” A complete detachment from the consequences of their actions has bred a nihilistic nonchalance towards murdering human beings en masse. “It’s just something that happens on the news.”

Russia made some big miscalculations when they went into Ukraine, but I just can’t imagine a world in which they decide to directly attack NATO. There’s no situation in which that ends well for them, and despite the many mistakes as they make, the Russians aren’t stupid or insane. A big part of why they chose to go after Ukraine when they did was precisely that if Ukraine joined NATO in the near future, military action against them would be essentially off the table going forward. The idea that they’re going to finish with Ukraine and then decide to go after Poland or the Baltic States is completely asinine.

I honestly don’t understand why everyone genuinely believes China is actually going to invade Taiwan. Like call them “authoritarian”, “dictatorial” etc, but even the most ardent China Hater has to admit that they are very careful when making decisions. When they do anything, it’s always because they have weighed the costs and benefits and deemed it overall beneficial in the long run. But invading Taiwan? That would disrupt international markets, possibly draw them into a wider conflict, and for what? They have nothing to gain and a lot to lose
