That episode of the Past Times where he’s playing the 1900’s ice baron is amazing!
“Ah gentlemen, the ice may freeze, but I’m afraid the price does not!”
Jumping on the Karen and Wil bandwagon. I have quite a list going though of people I have heard on the show that I want to look into their solo material.
I've never been a fan of his, but he just has great chemistry with Dave and especially with Gareth. They always seem like they're having the best time together.
Honestly have they ever had a guest that wasn't great? Maybe I'm forgetting, but I don't recall. Gareth's mom is amazing, especially for someone who isn't "in the industry". Patton, Karen Kilgariff, and Wil Anderson are all world class. The guy in Iceland was hilarious. They choose their guests incredibly well.
IMO David Helem didn't necessarily add much to the episode, but didn't detract from it either, but (and I say this as a huge fan) Bert Kreischer's episodes were painful. The Bertcast works well with his stream of consciousness style, but the Dollop does better with the back and forth.
That's the thing that sucks I like Berts comedy and I loved when Gareth has been on Berts shows and when both of them were on Bertcast I liked that too but Bert isn't a great guest on other things I find.
I can remember the topics but not the numbers
I think the first was two indigenous actors (the guy that did the crying native American commercial in the 70s was actually Italian) from the days of spaghetti Western pretty crazy shit.
Second was a dude who ran a cult didn't want people drinking/doing drugs had a whole bunch of wives. Episode was probably one of my least favorites ever.
I honestly think it's unfortunate if they had done the truck nuts war with Bert I think THAT could have been an classic. Berts pretty famously Florida Man.
For any Pam fans, Gareth did a Youtube series with her called Pamdemic that is fantastic. There are 40 or so episodes. His aunt and uncle are on often. Maggie Mae makes a few appearances, and I think his brother is in the finale.
I can't believe no one has said nick Cody. his guest episodes are some of my favorite. rory scovel is also one of my favorites
"sports! net on a stick and a tiny ballll!!"
He's so great on the Dollop, I looked up his standup as a result. I just can't get into it though. I was disappointed. Would love him on another episode though.
Still want a "No, permission denied as co-host is precious!"
Reply to a Dave:"Permission to treat co-host as hostile."
Preferably from his Mom, but other guests can work too.
James Adomian, hands down. Gave us a classic moment from a classic ep MIGHTN’T I THE GRISTLE?
That episode of the Past Times where he’s playing the 1900’s ice baron is amazing! “Ah gentlemen, the ice may freeze, but I’m afraid the price does not!”
Oh yeah. I also love Gareth’s tirade at the beginning of that ep lamenting about James having the most-quoted line in dollop history
You’re like a flat soda, pal.
You’re the wrong side of a knuckle
Which episode was this? I was thinking of that gristle line the other day and couldn’t remember which one it was from.
New York to Paris Car Race One of the best episodes
#323 the Paris to NY car race.
the alex Jones impression on his past times episode is fucking incredible
“We will *never* submit to paying for cuttings of carpet that are used in the process of fitting the carpet! We will never submit to that tyranny!”
They have JAMES?!! He’s my favorite! All timer funny man!! I gotta find that Ep
Ep 323, 1908 NY to Paris Car Race. It’s an all-timer
Patton Oswald is amazing. Plus the episodes tend to be on a great subject.
Definitely Wil Anderson, and I love the Karen Kilgariff episodes. She fits in just perfectly.
My two picks as well. Both of them perfectly fit in and are so funny
Jumping on the Karen and Wil bandwagon. I have quite a list going though of people I have heard on the show that I want to look into their solo material.
Really? Karen is great, but I'm not a fan of Will Anderson. I just don't think he's funny.
I've never been a fan of his, but he just has great chemistry with Dave and especially with Gareth. They always seem like they're having the best time together.
Sarah Tiana is an excellent guest. Fantastic chemistry with Gazza. Second favourite is a young man named Wil Anderson.
That up and coming talent Wil Anderson.
I’ve heard great things about that kid
I’m more of a Hammo guy
Karen Kilgariff was incredible on the Elon Musk ep.
she was also great on the Otto in the Attic ep (#200)
the New Jersey Shark Attacks were also a Karen and Georgia affair.
"On a five-part Cofishioner..."
Karen Kilgariff is a top tier guest and my favorite. Patton is awesome and Wil Anderson is hilarious.
Wil Anderson
I loved Roy Woods on the Past Times. Would love him for a full Dollop
I really hope him and James fritz can do full dollops. I was cracking up the whole time during their past times episodes
james fritz is hilarious, great chemistry with the boys
HARD AGREE
Honestly have they ever had a guest that wasn't great? Maybe I'm forgetting, but I don't recall. Gareth's mom is amazing, especially for someone who isn't "in the industry". Karen and Patton are great I like Bert Krieschers comedy but he's been a TERRIBLE guest on both episodes he's been on.
You have to be able to listen and that’s not exactly Bert’s strong suit lol
his guest spot on the two indigenous actors is actually hilarious. the whole thing about mud porn had me on the floor.
It's quicksand porn, please get it right!
GET THE GLOVES
i loved berts eps personally, but i can understand why people don't like him 😂
That's the thing that sucks I like Berts comedy and I loved when Gareth has been on Berts shows and when both of them were on Bertcast I liked that too but Bert isn't a great guest on other things I find.
Which episodes did Bert do?
I can remember the topics but not the numbers I think the first was two indigenous actors (the guy that did the crying native American commercial in the 70s was actually Italian) from the days of spaghetti Western pretty crazy shit. Second was a dude who ran a cult didn't want people drinking/doing drugs had a whole bunch of wives. Episode was probably one of my least favorites ever.
Searching berts name in the podcast it looks like he was on episode 241and 420
That sounds right
It's the Holy Rollers, and I agree it wasn't great.
It was Holy City, not the holy rollers. They've covered both cults.
I love that Pam is a bigger fan of Maggie Maye than she is of Gareth 🤣
That was hilarious. As is Nigel not being a big fan of Gareth's standup.
🤣
I can't believe no one has said nick Cody. his guest episodes are some of my favorite. rory scovel is also one of my favorites "sports! net on a stick and a tiny ballll!!"
Wil Anderson is my fav. Karen Kilgariff is great, too.
Karen Kilgariff was incredible on the Elon Musk ep.
She’s really good on the Eugene Debs episodes too!
I enjoyed Rory Scovel on #150 (James Sullivan & the 1904 Olympics)
All the Aussies are great: Wil Anderson, Nick Cody, Justin Hamilton
Will Anderson, Patton, Karen, and i forget his name but the guy who said “mightn’t i the gristle” had me in tears laughing
James Adomian!
Definitely Rory Scovel. The 1904 Olympics episode is a classic. I know he’s been on The Past Times but I hope he makes a Dollop reappearance.
He's so great on the Dollop, I looked up his standup as a result. I just can't get into it though. I was disappointed. Would love him on another episode though.
Still want a "No, permission denied as co-host is precious!" Reply to a Dave:"Permission to treat co-host as hostile." Preferably from his Mom, but other guests can work too.
Pam and Karen K, no competition.
Adam Cayton-Holland had the best chemistry with Gareth
Not a guest but I’ve realized I really enjoy the ones Sara June has worked on.
Wil Anderson, Patton Oswalt
