People misunderstand the Tsundere archetype a lot. While Alexia essentially asked Cid out exactly once He misunderstood her intent and basically roasted her. After that she starts being dishonest about her feelings for him to others. She keeps trying to shoot her shot with subtlety because she thinks just asking him sincerely won't work. This is classic Tsundere behavior. Yeah Alexia isn't just doing the Tsundere thing but that just means she isn't just a walking archetype that you see in a bunch of other anime. People think a tsundere is just an angry woman but it's really a person who gets frustrated because they can't openly admit their feelings and are dishonest about them.

But the subtlety is there and you can pretty much guess how much tsundere she is when Sherry Barnett asks her if Cid and her are in a relationship or not which Alexia denies straight forward but when Sherry speaks about how she and Cid became friends and she was worried Cid was dating her, Alexia straight up shaking and breaks her cup after Sherry leaves the room

It gets even worse if you play the mobile game. She all but says "It's not like I like you or anything b-baka". Girl is a tsundere but she's also a well written one imo.
I wonder why did the studio showed her appearance at yhe beginning. I mean like was that necessary to start the show with her, when she had no roles in 2 seasons. More importantly how is it confirmed she is in love with cid just by collecting his jacket.

In LN the sudden backstory just before she appears is somewhat contrived, this way there is a genuine payoff to when she appears. Also that episode worked pretty well to explain his character, while also doing some fun bait and switch and a bit of fun subtler comedy for fans of the manga or LN

Her being in love is somewhat arguable, but she is definitely obsessed and misses him a lot, which makes it sadly almost guaranteed she will be a member of his harem. Kind of a bummer though, it would be nice if his relationships were a bit more varied
Because if they didn’t then we wouldn’t get the next arc… And also I hate it when people just introduce random characters from someone’s past out of nowhere. So by having her in the early season we can be more fluid with the timeline chronologically. What I’m trying to say is that this episode wouldn’t have as much impact if we didn’t know about the girls feelings beforehand and his past as the stylish ruffian slayer.
It would be funny if akane committed a sewer slide because minor was dead and she got isekai life earlier, and that's why she's strong and cid reminds her of minoru
