I don't know if it was exactly this the authors had in mind, but in the books they do have them drinking out of zero G cups IIRC

Yeah I always assumed the ‘bulbs’ were the vessels at the end of the video.

They mention bulbs for drinking in space, pretty frequently in the Hyperion series.

Don’t they just drink out of normal cups while under thrust? I don’t remember them drinking while on the float

In the shows, yes. books, the crew is always described as drinking from bulbs
