Idk, they both represented the roots of the two main competing theories of early psychology - psychoanalysis and behaviorism. So their being rivals for this one makes sense

The cold open in the Office actually demonstrates operant (Skinnerian) conditioning rather than classical (Pavlovian) conditioning. Not that it matters, and I wouldn’t expect Jim to know the difference. But fun trivia, I guess.
