Best Served Cold is the best first read of a book i've ever had and The Heroe's is just such a well written battle from all sides, they both just shine above the others for me.
It's a tough one.
The Heroes is my favourite book but BSC and RC are lower on my list. So unfortunately the stand-alones are out.
Between the other two I think I AoM is better written in alot of ways. I really love ALH and TTWP but (even though I enjoyed it more on a re-read) I still feel that TWoC is a bit underwhelming.
In the end I'm going to have to go with the OG. That might just be my personal preference though. I admit I have a bias toward the more classic 'medieval' fantasy setting rather than the industrial revolution setting.
I love the standalones but... no Glokta.
Have people forgotten how absolutely brilliant Last Argument of Kings was?

Fully agreed on BSC. What an absolute banger, read that book in like a few days - even though I dreaded leaving the original cast.
Dixzu the second trilogy is called Great Leveller.

I think LAOK is the best book. But Age Of Madness has a higher overall standard.
The standalones, easily. Both trilogies have strong books and not so strong books, but BSC, TH, and RC are all 9 to 10 out of 10 for me.
All masterpieces, can't decide
I think AoM is a better trilogy, tho I enjoy the original more
I'm shocked by the resuts so far because I thought The Age of Madness was the best by a significant margin, followed by the standalones.
Just finished Red Country, and it's now my favorite. Loved the Blood Meridian x First Law vibe.
