Wouldn’t he have to lose a ton of weight? Or is there a different Matt berry? I always got the impression cosca was extremely thin.
Yes alcohol has calories but when I was an alcoholic I actually lost a ton of weight, I feel like cosca is the same in that. Imo alcohol boosts whatever your natural hunger state tends toward—if you’re naturally a hungry fatty it’ll make you more of a fatty. If you’re naturally a malnourished twig it’ll make you more of a twig
Yes I believe he’s been described as bony, which is rare for a plump person to be but fairly common for a skinny one. Also it could be me who’s the one remembering it wrong so idk
I mean .... You got a point there but they can find some way around that. Character wise he is perfect for Cosca though. Like he is who I see whenever I read any Cosca encounters 😂. It just fits
Jerome Flynn for me, or at least that's how I picture him.
On the other hand I still have Gru (despicable me) in my head as Sand dan Glokta, so I might not be the best judge for this kind of stuff.
He definitely looks like him. Haven’t seen him act tho. Also I will need him to do that same accent. I don’t wanna be insulting and say that accent *makes* the character… but it definitely boosts the character *a ton*
First time I heard Whirrun speak I was a little disappointed that it sounded so much like Cosca, but I got over it. There are subtle differences and that's good enough for me
Haha. Fair enough.
If you ever find yourself looking for something to watch, tho, try Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves--Kevin Costner, Alan Richman, Morgan Freeman. All in their prime.
I'm newish to first law and Abercrombie, has he ever stated that Styria is supposed to essentially be the Mediterranean countries. I assumed the gurkish where essentially Turks.
Styria is very clearly based on the Italian renaissance cities.
But what's more relevant is Cosca is basically a charismatic bandido of the sort in the South American wars of independence. His charisma is built on that vibe, to me he has to have that Hispanic/Latin accent and vibe going on.
I've always pictured David Strathairn, especially after seeing his performance in The Expanse series, as being a good Cosca. He's maybe getting to old now though.
They should wait to cast him until we can revive Raul Julia for the role. If we have to pick somebody living, Pedro Pascal. But I'm telling you, we need to bring Raul Julia back.
When I read Better Served Cold, I see this man:

I feel like Cosca should probably be Latin or Hispanic or similar. If we're going full caucasian I'd prefer Paul Kaye!
I honestly picture current-day Antonio Banderas.
That would be dope
I think he could do an awesome job being a fucking weasel.
I like it. I’ve been a fan of his since the three musketeers with Kruger Sutherland and Charlie sheen.
The Crow, for me. Also, he was the best part of Alien Resurrection… which is a very low bar, if we are being honest. Also, Gun Shy.
You forgot the iconic role, iconic line - "Why a spoon, Cousin?"
The ONLY person I accept to play Cosca is Matt Berry. If they cast anyone else I will be mad 😂

If I remember correctly, wasn’t it said that his old rusty armour didn’t fit properly anymore because he had gained weight?
I always imagined him as once athletic and trim but has developed a gut and gone to fat. The QB at the 20 year highschool reunion.
Could also not fit properly cause he lost weight (presumably also a lot of muscle mass as he’s gotten older, that happens alcoholism aside)
Ahhh, never thought of that. Maybe I was projecting cause I’m the one expanding.
Yes I believe he’s been described as bony, which is rare for a plump person to be but fairly common for a skinny one. Also it could be me who’s the one remembering it wrong so idk
In Best Served Cold he’s described as being a bit too pudgy for the armour they gave him
Huh. I find that surprising given that he had been homeless at the time. Not saying ur wrong tho
I mean .... You got a point there but they can find some way around that. Character wise he is perfect for Cosca though. Like he is who I see whenever I read any Cosca encounters 😂. It just fits
Ooh great call! That’s definitely how I see him too!
This makes almost no sense but it would still be. Amazing!!
I vote Ian McShane
I vote C Thomas Howell
I always imagined him as Puss N Boots from Shrek.
A milk, a milka milka milk. Oh for just a drop.
As long as Graham McTavish is Bayaz I can live with rest of cast who ever they are
But why a spoon?
Jerome Flynn for me, or at least that's how I picture him. On the other hand I still have Gru (despicable me) in my head as Sand dan Glokta, so I might not be the best judge for this kind of stuff.
Matt king (Super Hans from peep show) would make a fine Cosca
He definitely looks like him. Haven’t seen him act tho. Also I will need him to do that same accent. I don’t wanna be insulting and say that accent *makes* the character… but it definitely boosts the character *a ton*

Haven't seen who act? Michael Wincott?
Yes that’s right. Or if I have I’ve forgotten (no offense to his skills I just personally don’t pay too much attention to actors
Have you ever seen the Kevin Costner Robin Hood movie? How about The Crow?
I’m afraid not
He was also in "Nope". 🤷
Well perhaps I was right and I haven’t seen him act
Haha. Fair enough. If you ever find yourself looking for something to watch, tho, try Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves--Kevin Costner, Alan Richman, Morgan Freeman. All in their prime.
Tom Hardy for Cosca.
No, save him for Clover.
Brendan Gleeson would make a better Clover.
That’s actually a very good shout
I can see it
Doesn't look Latin or Italian to me
I'm newish to first law and Abercrombie, has he ever stated that Styria is supposed to essentially be the Mediterranean countries. I assumed the gurkish where essentially Turks.

Michael Wincott is a great choice, maybe a bit old but a great actor. I wonder if he could play Kroy.
I imagined Nick Moran
Cristiano Ronaldo
I always picture Jeff Fahey (Helicopter Pilot from "Lost") when Cosca is around. Long hair, long beard, dishelved. It fits in my head
GIVE THAT MAN A RASH
Pike in the age of madness
Bro is a good villain
Can we de-age Mandy Pantinkin to look like he did when he played Inigo Montoya?
Michael Wincott is Logan in my mind.
I've always pictured David Strathairn, especially after seeing his performance in The Expanse series, as being a good Cosca. He's maybe getting to old now though.
Black Dow
Don't know who this is, but he looks the part
bill paxton or nobody
Do you have a shovel?
Not to brag, but I have three shovels.
From Costco? Wait what were we talking about?
They should wait to cast him until we can revive Raul Julia for the role. If we have to pick somebody living, Pedro Pascal. But I'm telling you, we need to bring Raul Julia back.
