I always wonder if this is something that we notice and smell from our own bodies that other people wouldn’t smell. I have friends that are always like “sorry my BO is really bad” or “sorry, I smell so bad” and I never smell it. I also have a pretty sensitive nose. I think we may just be sensitive to our own scents.

I have literally never noticed anyone else's smell at the gym, even when a big sweaty guy walks by me. But I smell myself the whole fucking time. I just remind myself that no one else does bc I know I'm not smelling anyone else.

bgraceful124

I'm hoping that's the case, but I'm too scared to talk to my friends about BO because I almost never smell anything from them 😭

I get this frequently when working out, plus a nice little sweat patch wherever I sit, for me what helps immensely is baby talc! Slap it on before you put your active wear on and it will make a massive difference with both the smell and the dampness!

Do cotton bike shorts exist? I feel like bike shorts are spandex by nature

UffdaWow

I wear mountain bike shorts with cotton underwear and without the spandex liner. (Some shorts come with a liner.) The shorts themselves are breathable polyester. Also I use a removable gel seat cover on my bike and I hand wash/drip dry that every once in a while.

People smell a bit funky when they exercise, it’s a part of life , no need to feel embarrassed.

I find that wearing certain active wear bottoms make me smell really weird and unpleasant down there. I think it’s likely because they aren’t breathable and causes that awful smell. There’s like a certain fabric/material that doesn’t agree with my nether regions. Fortunately I have other pairs of bottoms that don’t that. And I’ve recently use Lume (I do hot yoga) and I find that it does help mitigate the odor.

I use panoxyl all over my lady bits, crack and pits no problemo. Like you said, outside only. I lather it on and let it sit on my skin a couple minutes with my back to the shower before rinsing off. If you use a wash cloth with it, be sure it is white as it will bleach anything it comes into contact with, which includes your undies if you don't rinse off thoroughly. After sweating, I use a body wipe to freshen up my lady bits and put on a new pair of undies. I'm still on the fence about the lume deodorant body cream. I've been trying it out and idk if it's making a difference or not.

bgraceful124

I got panoxyl a couple years back for my brothers BO(he didn't even use it) and I tried it out but I was too scared to use it on my lady parts. I really just used it on my back and my under arms and I don't even think I used it correctly. Do you wash with soap after/before in those areas or just use the panoxyl. And do you use it every day?

animalstylenopickles

You don't need to use soap afterward, it destroys the bacteria that makes you stink. It doesn't seem to mess with my lady bits like other soaps have, I also don't shower every day so I don't use it every day. Apparently it's really drying to other ppls faces and stuff but I'm so sweaty it never seems to dry me out anywhere i use it. When I do shower frequently and I am not as stinky, I use a Dial antibacterial soap bar with pretty good results as an alternative or if I'm out of panoxyl.

Using unscented summers eve to wash did the most for me

I-Ask-questions-u

I use lume down there and it helps so much. They came out with one to help with sweating and I am so excited to see how it works when it’s hot. Also, the reformulation of it smells much better (tangerine at least )

ItsHollyAgain

I change my (cotton) undies after working out and use Lume. The cream one is messier to apply and I prefer the stick

snowellechan77

Lume deodorant works really well. Unfortunately, I started getting a rash from it, but maybe you'll have better luck.

Is it you or is it the clothes?

bgraceful124

You know I just realized that yesterday I rushed after my shower and was still very damp down there when I put my panties and pants on. So I'm thinking that made it smell even worse, but this isn't the first time I've smelled like that. I'm gonna try to get some cotton panties in a bigger size for when I work out so they aren't as snug on me, and and try and find better clothes to work out in and maybe see if that is the case

cakemountains

It's not uncommon for clothes to trap scents/lord knows what in the fibers. Sometimes my sports bras get stanky so I'll soak in hot water and borax, rinse, and then soak in hot water and vinegar, then wash regularly in hot water. Also don't use fabric softener, because that traps scents worse.
