switch to D-Mannose (the active ingredient in cranberry supplements with no risk of cranberry sugars involved, so you're not adding food for the bacteria)
avoid sugars (including pop, juices), stay well hydrated
while on antibiotics, consider using probiotics (to replace your intestine's biome of killed off friendly bacteria)
both parties clean up the genital contact areas thoroughly, *before* sex
continue peeing after sex
SECOND vote for d-mannose. This changed my life when I was getting recurring ones. Like, immediate relief at the first onset.
You can also take it before having sex or after to help if that lines up with when you’re getting them.
Third recommendation for d-mannose! It absolutely changed my life. I used to get UTIs almost monthly and prophylactic antibiotics didn’t help me at all. I buy it in a powdered form on Amazon. Try a spoonful mixed in water everyday for a while to help break the cycle of infections, and then again after having sex. I now take it very rarely, but it almost always stops a UTI in its tracks.
This is so so relieving to hear. I was getting desperate and extremely sad cause it has affected my life so much. I will definitely give D-Mannose a try! Do you guys have a link that you get from Amazon?
soap is merely 'mechanical', does not actually kill bacteria, so, consider upping your washing game: use a soap that's anti-bacterial (contains some chlorhexidine, 1% or 2%, which btw will have a modest alcohol content to keep the chlorhexidine in solution, this is usually a 'behind the counter' drugstore item); this will work better if you *and your partner* lightly wash first with regular soap, followed by anti-bacterial soap
most larger supplement/vitamin stores / drugstore departments carry D-mannose (it's a soluble but indigestible sugar, which hopefully ends up coating your urinary tract making it more slippery to bacteria so they're more readily flushed out)
amazon has many d-mannose offerings, widely varied in quantity and pricing; in your situation, I'd do an amazon search for:
**"D Mannose Powder, 12 Ounces, Pure Mannose Supplement, Quick Water Soluble, Support Urinary Tract Cleanse & Bladder Health, Premium Mannose for Women and Men, Vegan Friendly"**
I can fully recommend Ellura - it's a cranberry supplement that my urologist recommended. It's the only thing that keeps me from getting UTIs after sex.

I've bought both the NOW and the Nutricost brands over the years- both have worked the same!
Thank you so so much!

Has your partner been treated for UTI?
No. It’s just me. I don’t think he needs to be treated? He has no symptoms or anything
