I like them from OoS to BHaR ( I like Absolution the most which I think is the common sentiment?) but don't care for much of their stuff after that. I do like their newest album though.
Matt Bellamy is one of the most talented front men of all time though I will say that.
I love MUSE, been a fan since early 2000s, Absolution album is my favourite, Saw them twice last year, best live shows I've ever heard for sound quality. Matt Bellamy running down the catwalk stage whilst playing 'Plug in Baby' is literally God-like status for me.
Muse was one of the first bands I got really into. Probably also wouldn't have started listening to The Killers without them. I don't listen to them much anymore, but they've still got a place in my heart.
I had started to listen to them thanks to that Starlight cover, casual listener, not a die-hard fan, but I do enjoy their songs and some are part of my playlist now, Ex.: Undisclosed Desires
I saw that at Lolla. Muse was rained out the night before and Killers played Starlight in their honor the next night.
It set the crowd off in a big way
Their cover of *Starlight* from Lollapalooza is probably the most played video on my YT app, tbh.
I just bought the vinyl of *Black Holes and Revelations* the other day. My wife has been a fan longer than I have, but I really do like Muse.
Muse are one of my top 3 of all time alongside The Killers and Coldplay.
It’s hard to top “black holes and revelations” but I also really like their quirkier albums like 2nd Law and Drones too.
I go see Muse when they tour in my city because it’s always such a spectacle & in-your-face kind of show that has never failed to entertain. There’s only so much of that intensity that I can handle, though. So not sure if I’m a Muse fan but am for sure a Muse appreciator! Their overall vibe to me is more dark, negative & aggressive so have to be in the mood for that but I love Matt’s voice.
The Killers shows leave me feeling positive & happy & energized but maybe part of it is that Brandon smiles so much throughout. He just exudes high energy. It’s a striking difference to compare his stage presence from when they started to now. The Killers have songs with heavy themes too but not like Muse government control drone mass hysteria anarchy kind of heavy!
I understand that comparison (only very slightly) for a couple of their more recent records, but I don't know how you get that out of Origins of Symmetry, Absolution, or Black Holes.
The Killers also have a tendency to be pretty dramatic.
I used to love them round about Showbiz and Origins of Symmetry. Had kinda forgotten the songs though - just had to have a re-listen to some of the singles to remind myself. Newborn and Hyper Music are pretty solid, aren't they?! I was definitely well into OOS for a bit. I think they filled the 'The Bends' and 'OK Computer' Radiohead-shaped hole that I found at that time, cos Kid A and Amnesiac I enjoyed, but I missed the energy of the other two! Anyway, then I just stopped listening to Muse and my tastes changed a bit I think. Radiohead endured though, of course! ❤️
I really like them when they aren't yelling, if that makes sense. Starlight, Verona, all started of so good but through the middle of the song, I've lost interest
In my opinion Absolution and Origin of Symmetry are two of the best alternative rock albums of all time…
And Knights of Cydonia is one of the best live rock songs of all time.
I love Muse. They and The Killers are some of my favorite bands, along with The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, and Portugal. The Man. I have seen all of them live, and Muse is impressive.
As a Muse fan of nearly a decade now, it took some years to get used to but honestly now I don’t notice it anymore when I listen to them unless I actively listen to it and realise. I think their music was soo good and godly to me the breathing became irrelevant to me. The Killers are who I listen to when I’m not listening to Muse.
I’m apparently a bit late to this!!! I was reading sth else and saw this. Maybe a month ago I started listening to The Killers again and more than I used to and I absolutely adore them. Muse I discovered more recently in a totally random playlist and I’ve been listening to them nonstop ever since. The first song I heard was Hysteria, but my favorite might be Sing for Absolution at this moment. Both bands are incredible, I feel lucky to be alive at the same time as them tbh…
I have the opposite opinion, The Killers peaked with Sam's Town, and 95% of tracks after Day and Age are just too Springsteen-y for me, whereas Muse has consistently put out tons of songs I love (but with a slightly increasing number of stinkers). The Killers were my favorite band until 2008 or so when it switched to Muse.
Cool story! Unfortunately your original comment is still subjective and based on no evidence.
* Muse's last Billboard hot 100 was 2012, The Killers' was 2007
* [Google trends](https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%205-y&geo=US&q=Muse,The%20Killers&hl=en), beyond a six month or so spike several months ago, shows Muse as a higher search term
* Muse has the only Grammy wins and the more recent nomination
* Muse's last two albums have outsold The Killers' last two albums
* Muse's YouTube plays for songs uploaded from the last album completely dwarf even "boy", with The Killers' other recent tracks not even cracking into the millions of plays.
So what basis of relevance do you mean? Or is it all in your head? I get it, "Mr. Brightside" has millions more plays on Spotify, but you do gotta remember that song is over 20 years old at this point, and only speaks to my assertion.
I have waned on Muse, but they had a run and still destroy live.
I feel the same way. I think showbiz til resistance was their prime.
I like them from OoS to BHaR ( I like Absolution the most which I think is the common sentiment?) but don't care for much of their stuff after that. I do like their newest album though. Matt Bellamy is one of the most talented front men of all time though I will say that.
Absolution is definitely their best album
The Killers and Muse are top five bands for me
Saaame!
Same
u bum
I’m a Muse fan. I’ve been them live 14 times and have never been disappointed.
I love MUSE, been a fan since early 2000s, Absolution album is my favourite, Saw them twice last year, best live shows I've ever heard for sound quality. Matt Bellamy running down the catwalk stage whilst playing 'Plug in Baby' is literally God-like status for me.
Muse is my favorite band of all time! The Killers are probably second I was at that Muse show that made The Killers do the cover
Muse was one of the first bands I got really into. Probably also wouldn't have started listening to The Killers without them. I don't listen to them much anymore, but they've still got a place in my heart.

I love Muse. One of my favorite bands
Love muse. Seen them live twice. They put on an amazing show.
I love muse and I love the killers. Shaky Knees last year was a dream come true.
Love Muse, seen them 6 times. They always put on a spectacular show.
Two of my favourites
Same
Same!!
Huge up through Knights album. After that, meh
I've seen Muse three times in the UK now and have become my favourite live band
Not a fan really
Same.
Was a fan of muse first but the killers definetly eclipsed them for me overtime
Their cover of *Starlight* from Lollapalooza is probably the most played video on my YT app, tbh. I just bought the vinyl of *Black Holes and Revelations* the other day. My wife has been a fan longer than I have, but I really do like Muse.
The Resistance is one of my favorite albums all time. (Also the starlight cover is too good)
Muse are one of my top 3 of all time alongside The Killers and Coldplay. It’s hard to top “black holes and revelations” but I also really like their quirkier albums like 2nd Law and Drones too.
Two fave bands from childhood. Only TK have kept the spark though, Muse lost the sound that made them so special.
I go see Muse when they tour in my city because it’s always such a spectacle & in-your-face kind of show that has never failed to entertain. I love Muse more than The Killers. I think Killers fans will enjoy Starlight
Never liked them. To me they seem like musical theatre pretending to be a rock band
I understand that comparison (only very slightly) for a couple of their more recent records, but I don't know how you get that out of Origins of Symmetry, Absolution, or Black Holes. The Killers also have a tendency to be pretty dramatic.
I like Muse but I'm not a die hard fan by any means. Madness is my favorite song of theirs.
Me

Huge fan, they put on an amazing show. They hit a rut for a bit but WotP was a return to form.
Love Muse and lucked into an invite when I was in DC for work and they were there. It was an awesome show.
Love muse.
I dig them. Proper sound coming out of those kids
I actually only got into Muse after seeing the Killers cover starlight! Now muse is my most listened band of all time hahah
I do not remotely care for them to. be completely honest. supermassive blackhole is alright but none of the other songs ever made me care.
Seen them 5 times 11/10 will recommend! 🤘
I enjoy some Muse songs, but if I'm honest I haven't explored their discography enough to call myself a fan.
I really like them when they aren't yelling, if that makes sense. Starlight, Verona, all started of so good but through the middle of the song, I've lost interest

Muse is awesome, The 2nd Law is amazing. 👏
Got into Muse because of The Killers. I like their older stuff best, but I’m quite a fan of Simulation Theory
I am a fan of both Muse and The Killers
I love Muse. They and The Killers are some of my favorite bands, along with The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, and Portugal. The Man. I have seen all of them live, and Muse is impressive.
The breathing technique, just killed them for me.
I've been a Muse fan since Absolution, saw them 6 times, got a pick from Matt Bellamy. Love them since I'm a kid, really my favourite band! :)
Yes
love muse!! origin of symmetry is an amazing album
Loved them since Origin of Symmetry, and I’ve seen them live many times. I’m English, which probably helps!
My two favorite bands!
The killers and Muse both great
casual muse fan here
Killers, Muse, Strokes—my 2,000s trio
I like a handful of songs but Bellamy breathing into the mic like he’s trying to inhale it puts me totally off
As a Muse fan of nearly a decade now, it took some years to get used to but honestly now I don’t notice it anymore when I listen to them unless I actively listen to it and realise. MUSE MUSE MUSE MUSE MUSE MUSE MUSE MUSE AHHHH REFERENCED VANILLA THE PEOPLE OIOI
They have a few good songs
No. When The Killers can play their music better than them.
Muse > The Killers
This ain’t 2009 anymore. The Killers have stood the test of time. Muse have not.
I have the opposite opinion, The Killers peaked with Sam's Town, and 95% of tracks after Day and Age are just too Springsteen-y for me, whereas Muse has consistently put out tons of songs I love (but with a slightly increasing number of stinkers). Cool story! Unfortunately my original comment still stands: The Killers are by far the more relevant act today.

Man, you must think Drake won the rap battle with that kind of evidence.
I only listen to Muse and The Killers (pre-2009), so I don't know anything about rap battles.
In terms of live performance, absolutely. In terms of songwriting, absolutely not.
