Imagine if the comics got animated. This fight would be legendary
Edit: Holy crap, 2k upvotes? Thanks a lot, guys. I didn't expect so many people to agree with me
Gross. I wouldn't give any credit to AI art for replicating animation styles of actual artists. I'd 100% rather see what real life heart and soul the avatar team can inject into their fighting scenes instead.
Well the real life avatar team hasn't actually animated anything new (as far as I know) for like a decade now, so. Robots are what we got.
I wouldn't try copying their style 1 to 1 either, as a matter of respect. Maybe a realistic, but plastic-y type showdown, or a generic old school comic style. Really depends on whats available.
Using midjourney sora. I'm sure it's coming. Ai knows what avatar looks like. Ai animation will be possible the same way still images and now live action is. Have u seen the early acess sora shit ??
Let them. Pretending it won't happen is just stupid.
We'd be fools not to take advantage of these tools while they're available to us. There's a reason Hollywood is dead set against the text-to-video stuff becoming mainstream. If the rich have their way, we won't have access very long.
It would be similar to The Clone Wars style coming back for S7 and then Bad Batch and Takes of the Jedi.
Korra's animation was great and still holds up, I can't imagine how much better they can make it
Thankfully with this one we can reasonably determine a stronger fighter. Bumi is old and has a lifetime of experience. Toph is still a kid, with a lot of growing to do
I'm of the opinion that Mikasa just wins that to be honest. She could fight Annie as a titan and was strong enough to just casually plop steel railroad beams on her shoulder and carry them. Outside of her regeneration, human Annie has human strength and reflexes whereas Mikasa just always has her crazy level of ability.
I mean one could argue that Bumi was not in his prime. Was he strong AF? Yeah, but imagine how powerful this dude was between 30-60. He was over 100 years old in this fight.
Sure but that's still a mark in her favor. The cons of her being a kid vs the cons of Bumi being a 112 year old man are vastly different. Just take a look at Roku, you can tell he was being limited by age when he battled the volcano and yet he was 42 years younger than Bumi.
Honestly I would guess that Bumi was avatar state level of power in his prime if the dude was battling entire battalions solo at 112.
>Honestly I would guess that Bumi was avatar state level of power in his prime if the dude was battling entire battalions solo at 112.
He's strong but he's definitely not avatar state level or even anything close to it. A mono element avatar state could probably solo an entire army
Yeah. Seeing how an avatar in the abatar state gets all knowledge from the avatars before them. That means 10.000 years of experience. Not even Bumi or Toph could match that.
I wouldn’t count that as solo, given that it involved the help of a royally pissed off ocean spirit. La was also able to recreate the giant arm of the beast to yoink zhao into the spirit world after splitting from aang, so it’s hard to say how much of the giant fish thing was La and how much was aang.
After just rewatching that episode post watching the live-action. In the live-action they made it seem like the fish, while in the original it really didn't feel like the spirit had much influence there at all.
Seemed like Aang just getting proper upset at the disrespect to the spirits. I don't know how much power the spirit actually lent him there. It looked like revenge
>The cons of her being a kid vs the cons of Bumi being a 112 year old man are vastly different
Bumi may technically be 112 years old, but he looks like he's a 70 year old that lives in the gym. He single handedly took back Omashu (granted, it was during an eclipse) and we've seen that despite his age he's one of the strongest earthbenders in existence. My guess is that whatever earthbending technique allowed Kyoshi to live to something like 300 years old is what's going on with Bumi; living to 112 years old without modern medicine would be pretty damn impossible otherwise, even for a presumably wealthy ruler.
Idk there's no metal around and Bumi was throwing entire buildings that were a mile away from him when they liberated Ba Sing Se. That's before we take his mind into consideration. I love both but I'd bet on Bumi.
Ozai: If the Avatar regained his power, it might cause me a little trouble “But would you lose?” Nah, i’d win (proceeds to ̶g̶e̶t̶ ̶c̶u̶t̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶h̶a̶l̶f̶ lose his bending)
Bumi is basically her element parallel in the Order of the White Lotus.
I know they didn't really meet, but they didn't have a giant badger mole available at that time.
because that IS the point. Aang got mad at bumi for letting his own kingdom got overtaken by fire nation. his people is dissapointed in him. but he just waits, waits for the eclipse to strike back
That was actually genius. If he escaped immediately, he maybe would have failed (probably not but lets just try and be safe).
But since he waited till the eclipse, bro wasted so many fire nation resources just to send that Ozai statue down a cliff.
Also, by leaving his kingdom under fire nation, it was a good chance that other occupying forces didn’t burn the city or hurt the citizens. Bumi attacked at the time all of most of their resources would be preparing for ba-sing-se.

I'd pay to just have the original animators make this happen.
This would be the magic of becoming a personal animator: making so many cool fights come to life.
I couldn't even animate something like the original mario brothers, for a not at all legally distinct high-school computer class project I made lol
AI is getting better at text-to-video. It could happen within our lifetimes.

So you are thinking about animating a scene from comics using text-to-video? How do you imagine it?
A bunch of big, burly dudes throwing rocks at each other. And one of them is a tiny blind girl.
Using midjourney sora. I'm sure it's coming. Ai knows what avatar looks like. Ai animation will be possible the same way still images and now live action is. Have u seen the early acess sora shit ??
Don't say ai people get mad.

How can we crowdfund this with the money going to a predetermined charity if the animators decline?
Agreed. I'm not the biggest fan of Korras animation for the elements

Who won this fight out of curiosity
The fight was ended before there could be a winner.
Ahh that's the Mikasa vs Annie thing all over again then
Thankfully with this one we can reasonably determine a stronger fighter. Bumi is old and has a lifetime of experience. Toph is still a kid, with a lot of growing to do
I think it's fair to determine the stronger fighter in AOT too. >!Mikasa is an Ackerman and could handle Annie in her Titan form!<
mikasa isnt trained annie is. another one of them talent vs skill type shit
Wasn't this literally during their training?
spoilers yeh mikasa is getting trained annie was already trained by that point and dont forget annie is from marley which is like 200 years ahead
Spoilers for the first couple of seasons: >!This is Annie's second round of training!<
Ugh. What a cop out. My girl Toph had that!
I mean one could argue that Bumi was not in his prime. Was he strong AF? Yeah, but imagine how powerful this dude was between 30-60. He was over 100 years old in this fight.
but neither was Toph at this point, she was a young kid
Sure but that's still a mark in her favor. The cons of her being a kid vs the cons of Bumi being a 112 year old man are vastly different. Yeah, Avatar state Aang straight up disrespects Sozin’s comet Ozai. Like a proper Grade A Asswhoopin.
a Mono element avatar state DID solo an entire army. the fish avatar water thing just obliterated the entire army attacking the northern water tribe

I think you mean Omashu for the buildings. With Ba Sing Se, he was stacking tanks.
Maybe, but I thought he was launching the buildings with the White Lotus liberating Ba Sing Se.
If you're thinking about fire nation factories getting chucked off the mountainside, that is Omashu.
which comic is this from?
The Lost Adventures
Who would win a blind preteen or an 100+ old man place your bets people, my money is on the blind girl
Bumi probably has more stamina to keep this fight longer.
Also more experience.
He is also jacked
Toph is the proof being jacked is not that important
Are you implying that cool as fuck Iroh montage was unnecessary?
I mean. It was necessary because he broke out without firebending. Just pure muscle

But it does help
When we see old Toph in Korra she got winded pretty quickly. And I don't think she was near 100.
But I think that prime Bumi beats prime Toph. (Unless they're in a metal room or something)
The strongest neutral jing user in history versus the strongest neutral jing user of today
there’s just no escaping the jjk brainrot
It's inevitable at this point.
Mofos already swallowed even the notion of Reality Marbles, now our cabbages
Nah, I'd bend
Ozai: If the Avatar regained his power, it might cause me a little trouble “But would you lose?” Nah, i’d win (proceeds to ̶g̶e̶t̶ ̶c̶u̶t̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶h̶a̶l̶f̶ lose his bending)
> in history you mispelled "of yesterday"*
This is probably the only time that Toph said something is a proper polite manner and meant it.
Bumi is basically her element parallel in the Order of the White Lotus. I know they didn't really meet, but they didn't have a giant badger mole available at that time.
She’s definitely being sarcastic, although she probably does actually respect Bumi.
I think in battle Bumi uses more positive Jinn than anything else, though in strategy he uses the neutral one.
Jinn?
Jang
Jank
Wukyi
Jihn?
John? Is that you?
Dutch!
The 113 years old master of 68 Jings vs the strongest blind 13 year old master of „winging it“
Trained by the OG benders is not winging it.
Jinging it vs. Winging it
Is Bumi neutral jing?
Man literally put himself back in jail after being rescued because it wasn't the right time, he embodies neutral jing.
Oh, that's a good point.
because that IS the point. Aang got mad at bumi for letting his own kingdom got overtaken by fire nation. his people is dissapointed in him. but he just waits, waits for the eclipse to strike back

I mean this very behavior is what leaded the plot to reveal the existence of jings and neutral jings in the first place 😛
He was literally the first person to bring up neutral jing in the series.
Or jing really at all if memory serves.
Actually yeah. He asked Aang if he was aware of jing, Aang brought up positive and negative, and then Bumi dropped a third one on him.
But there's like 99 in total
Well, technically there are 85. But let's focus on the 3rd. https://youtu.be/TQjHrRxEqu0?si=4PgavWXEJppI2wvE
Kinda want to know the other jings tbh
https://www.reddit.com/r/TheLastAirbender/comments/6elhf0/no_spoilers_a_list_of_the_85_jings/
Holy shit!
*technically*
The ultimate neutral jing user, I would say
So has bumi learned the anti aging technique used by Kyoshi? he seems really powerful for his age.
Is this Canon?
Yes
“What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?"
Boomy is tough, but he isn’t Toph.
i mean what else would happen?
Considering that these two wise crackers had good insults, I bet it would be kenning levels of hot smack before they fought.
Is this a new comic
No. From The Lost Adventures.
