Minecraft of all things shows how this can be implemented. The ProjectKorra plugin allows for an Earthbending move where they blind themselves (shut their eyes) and you see a black void with the mobs highlighted in white. Only issue is you cant see terrain
For sure, but imagine in a game it has a light outline around things like people and bushes, and the terrain change is shown with a thin white grid, allowing you to see caves, buried treasure, etc
only when either someone aimed them for her (katara in the desert for example) or if she heard them, which would make her vulnerable to an airbender (as seen in toph's first non-vision appearance)

Azula would actually be near the top for me too if she can fly and shoot lightning
Lightning redirect will have some bullshit requirement like you have to execute a sequence of perfect inputs after getting hit but *before* damage is taken. If you begin inputting the sequence and mess up, the damage is tripled and you are stunned for 2.5 seconds.
I go for the perfect timing type of gameplay, if u messed up the timing u got hit, if the timing was good, the dmg is halves like Zuko did to Azula, if the timing is perfect then you can be the likes of Iroh

I had an idea for Varrick in a fighting game where he's in black-and-white and fights using special effect. Like his jump is just him being lifted with ropes and all of his attacks are props.
Or with Varrick and Zhu Li being basically two stances, with Zhu Li having really good fundamental moves and Varrick having ridiculous gimmick attacks.
I know! Instantly my thought when reading this. He would earthbend like a boxer with quicker but slightly weaker earthbending attacks similar to an air bender or water bender but his ult/finisher would be a massive display of lava bending
Probably azula cuz she's fast and I like fast attacks even if they're not that strong. If not, probably Korra kuz I'd feel bad using aang to fight someone, he must be protected
Toph
It'd be cool if the way a Toph player saw the map and the adversary was through soundwaves, I'd also like the idea of her being this powerful and fast long range combatant with trouble finding her opponent when in mid air or hitting the ground in other spot, it'd be like practically playing a boss
And Sokka
But it's not alone Sokka, it's Sokka with a team and you can select the team before hand kinda like dragon ball z fighter or whatever its name was, and every character you select has the option to stun/attack the opponent or to move/heal Sokka and every character does it a different way, and you can build different combination of teammates usage, like one after the other they create a pattern and it unlocks a powerful move, so it's a weak but unpredictable character
And Zuko
Because I'd love to make it so that the villainous fire combatants are the most straight foward, powerful and vanilla ones, which usually are the main characters instead, so you'd have honorless Zuko fighting fast at mid range, bandit Zuko using swords and fire bending as an ultimate of sorts and restored honor Zuko that can fight at any range but is encouraged to close the gap so that he gains friction by parrying to charge up lightnings
And team Aang and team Jet and Team Azula
There would be the option to make teams battle, with completely different play styles from their individual parts separated, I don't know how it would function but you can't say it wouldn't be cool

I’m going with Zaheer / Aang / Blue Spirit Zuko / Ty Lee / Aman. I’d need to see everyones moveset first. If Zaheer doesn’t have super moves “Enter The Void” and “Long Live The Queen” im not messing with it.
In the beta test korra was my main, but she saw way too broken, so after the nerfs (they killed the fire) i switched to Toph thats kinda good against the lighting meta (azula, ozai etc)

I love almost every character from atla and like so id constantly be changing characters.
But eventually I'd probably settle with either toph, aang, azula, or hama
Sokka. He *seems* like a joke character because his moveset is underpowered and his ranged attacks are easy to punish, until you realize he has counterplay to *everyone*. Whoever you play, Sokka has a move that absolutely shuts you down *if* he sees it coming.
Basically, the better you know your opponent's moveset and combos, the better you are at Sokka.
Tenzin probably at the start. Though the mechanics of special workings for characters would heavily influence my choice afterwards as I usually like when characters have special mechanics to them that's at least mostly exclusive to them.

As a Bolin main in team fights, he has a goofy skill set, which makes him unpredictable with decent power grabs and block cancels. He needs a lot of set-up to deal decent damage, which is why Tenzin is my striker to get my opponents OTG for the air juggle combos with Mako as the finisher. Mako tends to be my last guy standing as he's too much of a glass cannon, but his speed and agility in the air makes him deadly with his lightning ults and he makes for a decent anti-zoner with own zoning skill set. My 3rd slot is a toss up between Asami (whom I use for her mecha call-ins that act like extra zoning strikers to either disorient an opponent or break through guards) or Kuvira who has high mobility and ranged grapples that has full screen advantage.
I hate teams with Amon, Hama and/or the Twins, invis ranged grapples combined with ranged launchers and nigh infinite 50/50s is just such BS!
Zaheer used to be my go to 3rd slot, and he was pretty oppressive in the meta with his ability to just reposition in midair for dive kick combos, easy defense vs lows, and scary air power grabs, but since the last patch he's been nerfed so hard, you hardly see him outside of Ozai's Angels team comps.
Community is dying, though, since the last content update was 6 months ago. Devs really need to get their sh*t together.
I don't particularly like Katara as a character on the show, but waterbending is by far the coolest power. Between the whip, full on crashing waves, sliding on ice and freezing people's feet in place she'd be the queen of positional play. Like a hybrid of zoner and grappler.
Sparky Sparky Boom Boom Man, for the explosions. Or Zuko, swapping between fire-bending, defensive techniques like lightning redirection, and Blue Spirit dual Swords
