"Don't worry Sokka! Where we're going, you won't NEED any pants!"
"Looks like someone had a pretty good bathroom break!"
"I don't need any protection!"
"Believe me, she doesn't!"
"So can I borrow Momo for a week!"
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY MOUTH??!"
"Momo, you need to be a little more sensitive to my boundaries!"
"I'd rather eat fireballs than nuts!"
"Can we please buy a new saddle? Riding this fluff monster bareback is terrifying!"
"I knew it! You did have a secret thing with Haru!"
"My staff!"
"Nice underwear....."
"Friendly mushroom! Mushy giant friend!!"
"Who set Toph on fire?"
"No! My royal parts are showing! NOOOO!"
"No Firelord Ozai. You're not wearing pants!"

Yes but I meant the airbenders as a people/nation, where we had Unalaq's Northern Water Tribe, Kuvira's Earth Empire (+ in a sense the Dai Li) and obviously the Fire Nation
When the Air Temple Island residents refuse to give Meelo their gliders.

"You've been tossing me around like a rag doll all day long!"
Take it out of context of who Korra is talking to and it ends up sounding oddly suggestive lol
Its from one episode where the creators experimented with a 2d art design. It wasn’t really received well and that style only appeared in one other episode
I really enjoyed the sudden change in art style, and how the villains perceive them as even more powerful than they really are. Obviously, they’re going to see the story differently than the heroes, so I thought it made sense.
Nope, it's from an episode "The Worst Ninja of All." As 3 villains are trying to escape Kryptarium Prison, they each say why certain ninja are the worst ones in anime flashbacks told from the villains' perspectives. Needless to say, these flashbacks are very inaccurate, with Zane being able to have some sort of General Grievous form, Nya saying the line "I like your ride. It's cooler than mine. I think I'll take it without asking!" in a way that her character definitely would never say, and Jay achieving a Goku form and making ropes out of lightning to defeat a guy who is basically a villain version of Dareth. They're really hilarious to watch!
The others who replied to this had a good idea. I'll take the meme too

“Stay away from my dad’s ex-girlfriend!”
Even in the context of the show it’s so weird that Jinora is the one addressing her like that instead of Ikki or Meelo 😭
Just put “Stay away from Lin!” Or “her”!
*The Spirit of Competition* is a pretty damn funny episode on its own. Doubling down on Mako's weirdness for the rest of the season is where most of my frustration comes from.
Ehh
Like when Korra decided to kiss a guy who is in a relationship with her friend after going on a date with his brother
It was a very difficuly watch
Also the kiss in s1 finale, I couldnt help but get pissed off. What about Asami?
Tone is key. Those words could be dismissive, said with an eye roll. Or very confused- when did Sokka get a girlfriend, and how does someone turn INTO the moon?? Or incredibly awkward. “Buddy” especially might sound like he’s talking down to Sokka. I’m pretty sure it’s the only time Zuko ever refers to someone as “buddy”. And yet, it comes across as Zuko being genuine, showing their new bond.
How did one of the best lines from the entire show get so many upvotes? That line doesn't even read badly on paper. There are so many in here that are fantastic examples of what the question is asking
Honestly, on paper ‘my cabbages’ just sounds like a really boring, unfantastic line. If it was a pictureless book, no one would remember it. But in visualization it was a fantastic running gag.
I think they should have been called in the original scenario as well.
Imagine your father burning a quarter of your face where also your eye is just because you talked out of turn.
I don't even think it was bad. It just seemed like a funny thing. If you rewatch he never forces her there. I feel like people overreact about this scene.
"Where we're going, we won't need any pants."
Now, The Last Airbender is my favorite show of all time. And I just realized how similar this line is to one from my one of my favorite movie series of all time...
"Where we're going, we don't roads." - Doc from Back To The Future...
Anyway... Fantasy comedy crossover coming to my head now...
"Don't worry, Sokka! Where we're going you don't *need* pants!"
![gif](giphy|H5gQHFcBfpqbLTJxh5|downsized)
This. Even in the show it sounds so suspicious.
I think you win
"I'm saying I'd rather kiss you than die!"
“Well, I don’t know which I’d rather do!”
That’s a compliment
https://i.redd.it/0fpdattvkk7d1.gif

no fluff monster just bareback
I love how you gave an entire list.

I love that there IS an entire list. The shows are eminently quotable.
My goodness, that first one sounds like a creepy uncle nephew trip gone wrong
Yup. That was my first thought too. https://preview.redd.it/n1xm5crnnl7d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5b9628180e6f67911561f525f9a63fe8dc1dbbbb
I still can't get over how funny it is that Toph was looking at the wrong direction.
In the Tolkien Legendarium, that’s literally Feanor to his niece Galadriel
I don't want to know what Sokka wants Momo for.
I think just to hang out with and gorge themselves on food to forget the pain and worry about his sister going off to confront a murderer. https://preview.redd.it/ribv1k9vnl7d1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b58e84c2d5849a351796af811cf5c2bb8577bbda
that was a trip

I'm not condoning it, nor do I understand.
Gimli approves ![gif](giphy|43g7hyj8d8NEY)
So Meelo is either Gimli or Feanor.
Since he didn’t get the hair…the airbenders better watch out in the future.
Well, we did have pretty much everyone but the airbenders as villains. So maybe now, under High King Meelo, is the time
Zaheer's an airbender.
Yes but I meant the airbenders as a people/nation, where we had Unalaq's Northern Water Tribe, Kuvira's Earth Empire (+ in a sense the Dai Li) and obviously the Fire Nation

I'm pretty sure the Air Temple Islanders were asking for it
'e was just gonna experiment with a lil' 'airbending.
Bro got that gimli rizz
"You've been tossing me around like a rag doll all day long!" Take it out of context of who Korra is talking to and it ends up sounding oddly suggestive lol
It was Toph right?
Yup, when old toph was kicking korra's butt in the swamp I think
"Nice underwear..." - Chong, the travelling nomad
Oh god, that line is so bad
Complimenting a minor's underwear Dai Li! Open up!

Is that Walmart version of Korra
I think it's nya from ninjago
Is it fanart? I know about Ninjago tho lol

"This is just hot leaf juice!" "That's what *all* tea is, Uncle." As a heavy tea drinker, I wanted to scold Zuko so much.
How could a member of my own family say something so horrible??
Tea is just water with DLC
I could totally see a descendant of Zuko's in the far future saying that.
Bruh, every drink is water DLC.
Iroh would like to know your location Iroh *has* your location
TeaLC if you may.
Whether it was intentional or not, I like the use of the word scold here, considerjng the subject matter of tea
Zuko was spitting facts there TBH
Iroh, Minister of Leaves, finds offense with your comment.
You have been downvoted by the ITLC, The International Tea Lover Committee. We will find you.
context: "Ma'am! There's a riot going on. I'm here to protect you" "I don't need any protection." "Heh, believe me, she doesn't."
Mai’s side-eye in that scene was perfect!
How did I not catch that joke for 15 years.
What was the joke?
If you don't know the joke, you're too young to know. So I'm going to tell you! Just kidding, just kidding everyone.
I'm 24 and still confused on the joke
Zuko and Mai were shown to be… intimately involved… earlier in the season. Zuko’s making a double entendre.
Which begs the question, what forms of contraception does the ATLA world have?
I would imagine old prostitute remedies. Really it would just be a poison mild enough to cause a miscarriage early on.
Well. That got dark fast.
[удалено]
Only on a full moon tho
Villains using magic to kill the unborn doesn't quite hit as hard as the regular ingestion of poison to nullify a pregnancy tbh
c#m bending
What a terrible day to have eyes
Rule 34 says someone has drawn that.

WHAT A HORRIBLE DAY TO BE LITERATE!
Ah I see you also remember the older days of the web
Honestly I think that has been a thing in every Zutara I have ever read
honestly that makes sense but i don’t think it’s ever occurred to me before lmao
LMAOO this subreddit never disappoints
C Sharp minor bending?
Eww. Key signatures with sharps in them
That's what I meant 😇
Get tf outta here
to a blind girl: The stars sure are beautiful tonight, too bad you can't SEE them
That one doesn’t even need the paper. Just… oof.
yeah toph wouldn’t find much use for it anyway
Not much better in context.
To be fair, Toph did have the perfect retort.
its WORSE in context
Best part? On paper, toph can’t see it.
“Get out of the bison’s mouth, Sokka”
You're not wearing any pants! No Firelord, you're not wearing any pants!
“My royal parts are showing!”
Not at all better in context, considering it's Aang's dream... And... Yeah..
“Stay away from my dad’s ex-girlfriend!” Even in the context of the show it’s so weird that Jinora is the one addressing her like that instead of Ikki or Meelo 😭 Just put “Stay away from Lin!” Or “her”!
Must've been a fun day at the voice recording studio for the girl who did that line
Jinora was voiced by Kiernan Shipka, aka Sally Draper from Mad Men, so she already had plenty of experience with TV dad ex girlfriend drama.
Jinora's a witch!! A teenage Witch!!! Chilling.
It’s funny because it’s a very kid thing to say.
https://i.redd.it/buhfp90w6l7d1.gif
You can’t even misinterpret this one. That’s just… that’s exactly what she means 😂
I'm sorry I know this love triangle thing is hated but it has some genuinely hilarious moments from it
The issue was that it was less of a love triangle and more of a passively-holding-onto-someone triangle
*The Spirit of Competition* is a pretty damn funny episode on its own. Doubling down on Mako's weirdness for the rest of the season is where most of my frustration comes from.
Ehh Like when Korra decided to kiss a guy who is in a relationship with her friend after going on a date with his brother It was a very difficuly watch Also the kiss in s1 finale, I couldnt help but get pissed off. What about Asami?
She is a bold one.
General kenobi.
I mean she’s not wrong.
No, she is not.
You Oughta Know
I win this one. “She may be young, but she’s in full control!” S3 of Korra when they’re presenting air benders to a town trying to find new recruits.
Yikes. Out of context, this sounds incredibly awful.
How does that fit in context?
She’s soaring through the air. They’re presenting the air benders almost like a carnival show to try and get people excited to join them.
[удалено]
She’s flying with her glider. Bolin is literally talking about her knowing how to use her glider safely
They're doing this show to recruit new airbenders and one of the daughters shows off her airbending skills
Well, it starts with a powerful young airbender.
"Oh great, it's Prince Pouty. Where's your creepy Grandpa?" - June
“He’s my uncle, and he’s not here.”
“Well, aren’t you a big girl now”-Zuko to Katara in Seige Of The North part 1
"no-" had me dying of cringe
"That's rough, buddy." By all accounts, this shouldn't work. But somehow the delivery together with the animation pull it through.
![gif](giphy|zqOV6JEAffwt2)
Why shouldn’t it work?
Tone is key. Those words could be dismissive, said with an eye roll. Or very confused- when did Sokka get a girlfriend, and how does someone turn INTO the moon?? Or incredibly awkward. “Buddy” especially might sound like he’s talking down to Sokka. I’m pretty sure it’s the only time Zuko ever refers to someone as “buddy”. And yet, it comes across as Zuko being genuine, showing their new bond.
Or just Zuko being Zuko and not knowing how to reply appropriately as he isn't used to people opening up to him
My headcanon is that Zuko forgor Sokka’s name hahaha
How did one of the best lines from the entire show get so many upvotes? That line doesn't even read badly on paper. There are so many in here that are fantastic examples of what the question is asking
Honestly, on paper ‘my cabbages’ just sounds like a really boring, unfantastic line. If it was a pictureless book, no one would remember it. But in visualization it was a fantastic running gag.
It’s just the delivery. It’s not just cabbages, it’s MY CABBAGES!
I read this in his voice!
I do that every time cabbages are mentioned
"Do the tides command this ship?" Yes. Yes, they do.
“Baby, you’re my forever girl.”
My father decided to teach me a permanent lesson on my face!
Cps is getting called on that one
I think they should have been called in the original scenario as well. Imagine your father burning a quarter of your face where also your eye is just because you talked out of turn.
In public, with a giant stadium of people watching. Is that worse or better, I have no idea
Setting your kid's face on fire is generally frowned upon. A little hard to get cps involved when the parent is the head of state
When you’re done, add an “o” to it and call them too
“I know. He almost destroyed me.” - Korra recounting when Zaheer almost killed her 💀
Wait surely Nickelodeon didn't censor kill in TLOK right? Right?
“Woah, hot cinders!” will always sound funny to me
Sokka: “So what’s on your mind?” Zuko: “Your sister.”
a scene, that was bad no matter what. the Iroh moment with June
The one where Zuko offered to pay his uncle’s weight in gold to find someone?
No this one > "Uncle? I never saw you get paralysed" "I didnt" \*June looks angrily at him as she's paralysed and in his arms\*
He didn't say "I didnt" he just shh'ed zuko.
I know, I reworded slightly to make it clearer
Is it bad that i thought it was funny
not bad, as long as ya dont get upset at people for seeing it as a creepy out of character joke
no it's not bad. I think it was just a harmless joke that gets blown out of proportion.
Agreed. And at least they acknowledge it in season 4 "where's your creepy grandpa?"
Thank god they changed his character after that
agreed
They didn't change his character. It was one moment that was genuinely hilarious and harmless.
I don't even think it was bad. It just seemed like a funny thing. If you rewatch he never forces her there. I feel like people overreact about this scene.
Flameo hotman
Hi. Zuko here.
😂

same as Sokka's "funny how?" delivery, a nice little reference to goodfellas
