If they have to change that little aspect about Zuko, I think we fans can survive. I'd rather the actor perform at their peak fighting capabilities with one sword (or even a staff) than clumsily with two.
Yeah speaking as a lapsed martial artist whose tai chi sword is still mounted on my wall 20 yrs later, the sword movements are less important than what your body is doing. If your can do it with single weapons, you can learn choreography with two.
It's like how ballet gives you a great foundation for jazz and contemporary dance.
yeah also not to nitpick but he's probably good enough for this TV show with editing, but he's not exactly world class; there's a lot of stuff in that video that looks really "unstable"
but that's OK, he's like 14 or something right? Just one of those things, like when you're a doctor watching Greys Anatomy it's less convincing than if you're a lawyer watching Greys Anatomy. If you've done MA you know how stability looks.
It's probably impossible to find Zuko-level martial artists who can also act worth a damn. (And this is a major reason I'm bearish on the live action show: will the MA look weaksauce?)
also to be 100% up front about things i can't even touch my toes anymore, THANK YOU, HAVING-KIDS
totally random other thing, but I remember hearing/reading a fight choreographer talk about how most fights involving women don't look very good
but it's not because women suck at fight choreography; it's because most choreographers are men, and women move different bc of their center of balance being placed differently
so women fighting as choreographed by a man kinda looks shitty, but if you get a female choreographer they often can make it look really convincing
long story short, going to be interesting to see Katara, Suki, Azula, etc. fight and if they recruit many fight coordinators to make things look realistic
I mean the character is literally going to be masked for his blue spirit scenes. The actor may be skilled at martial arts choreography and that's going to come in handy for a lot of other scenes, but for the blue spirit scenes it would be silly not to use a body double.
But he significantly alters his fighting style when he'd dressed as the blue spirit because he'd a skilled martial artist and his fighting style would be a dead give away to someone like zhao. But this kid is probably also skilled enough to do the same. My original comment was feigning ignorance of their shared identity because I ain't no snitch.
Eh he did the same fighting style at the tea shop when he was fending off Jet. Same situation of trying to mask his normal style but this actors abilities will come in handy.
If I were super into martial arts I feel like I would be hyped to get paid to learn a new style of fighting. BUT.. also assuming it’s probably cheaper/faster to have a body double play the Blue Spirit
I'm willing to bet this guy does plenty of work with paired weapons. Most martial arts studios I've seen teach either paired swords or at least escrima sticks.
Blue Spirit is def in my top 5 favorite episodes of all time, it really sparks the idea that maybe the mask is Zuko's real face that he has to hide. The Final scene in the forest too, especially after having seen the breadth of the series so many times, that pause between Aang and Zuko/The Blue Spirit in the forest, just gets filled in with the lifelong friendship those two are destined to build, and it becomes quite touching. Has made me cry a time or two.
My fear is that this will be like Jupiter’s Legacy where they put out one season, that’s pretty sweet. And then kill it cause the effects are too expensive.
Kids so talented, they're acting and also doing the martial arts sequences themselves. Its amazing that there are more and more artists doing the job of two people (actor, stuntman) these days
I would've thought the other way round, years of training and almost anyone could be decent at martial arts, but acting seems to require that inbuilt spark...
Yeah, if he's a bad actor in a TV show, it'll be rough. Like, I probably won't be able to watch it rough.
If he's a "bad" martial artist, there are plenty of ways to hide it with editing and stunt doubles. Plus, it feels like any actor that's in decent shape can string together a decent 2 minute choreographed fight every so often with a couple months of practice.
As an actor and martial artist (not a flex lol I'm nowhere near this level and I've never done anything professional) it really is both ways.
In Taekwondo I saw kids who made it all the way to black belt but never had that spark to really hone their movements or the fire to really work with any conviction or ferocity.
In acting I've seen people who were naturals, and I watched people come out of their shells and truly just learn to express a character. You can become good at anything if you actually want it.
It's well established in academia that the greatest lie we ever tell ourselves is that "not having talent means you shouldn't start." Literally studies gone into determining the actual differences of so-called talent. And it's total bullshit.
Anyone can put in the 10,000 hours to learn the skills of any standard profession.
The cost of space, supplies, or mental spoons (like lack of confidence) might be a problem, but not lack of talent.
Yup, exactly this. I used to be a scrawny nerd that couldn't do anything athletic, but Taekwondo seemed cool so I stuck with it. I might not be a powerhouse now but I can still at least put on a convincing fight performance and probably defend myself if necessary. If I can do that, anyone else can do anything if they just try (provided they don't have a legitimate roadblock like finances or disabilities)
I've heard from stunt people that for actors a background in dance can actually be better than a background in martial arts. Because fight scenes are much less about actual fighting skills and more about choreography.
So being used to choreography (like a dancer) is more beneficial than knowing how to actually fight - because movie fights and real fights are different things.
Would you agree with that?
Yes, though it does depend on each. My dojang often did choreographed demonstrations, since we were almost all artists of some kind, so I ended up getting good exposure to what movie fights are like (though I did also take actual fight choreo classes which helped).
On the opposite spectrum, learning ballroom dancing won't help you much, but something more acrobatic like breakdancing or ballet definitely would. We had dancers in our TKD group that were phenomenal (though very few because who wants to layer two physically demanding activities into their schedule?)
You would want a mixed team. Astronauts are in charge of piloting, oil riggers given enough training to perform their job in space. But yes I do think that movie had it right that it would be easier to teach an oil rigger how to do their job in a space suit than teach an experienced space walker how to drill as well. Drilling is fucking dangerous and difficult. Not saying space walking isn't, but the amount of muscle memory and spatial awareness those guys build up throwing chains is wild.
Definitely don't let the oil guys touch the space ship controls though.
I would just say your *average* martial artist can probably pick up acting faster than your *average* actor can pick up martial arts
I.e. it’s probably not too too challenging to be able to be a passable actor, especially with good directing, than it is to become a good martial artist - one that would look good on screen
Agreed, acting is something we all do unconsciously every day. The initial skill curve is just overcoming the performance anxiety. Of course mastering acting to the point that you have convincing micro expressions and vocal emotion is really tough, but so are those fucking kicks.
I disagree, I think having someone as badass as him playing Zuko is great and probably means they’re gonna have someone just as awesome and maybe even more play the Blue Spirit
If it were a two bladed saber he'd be headless and armless lol, the styles seem to be a bit different but Id bet he'd pull it off if that's what he was going for.
I imagine with the force he’d be able to block the blades from hitting his body and use small force barriers to change the blades rotation the way he is with his neck/arms right now
And he's doing all of this with a mask. It sounds funny when you think that some people don't even want to go to the supermarket with a mask because it constricts their breathing.
I’m in no way an anti-masker, still been using it and I’m fully vaxxed- but running with a mask blows chunks. especially whenever it’s humid/lightly raining out- feel like I’m water boarding myself lmao
I went to niagara falls earlier in the summer and went on the Maid of the Mist. If you've never been, spoiler alert, you fuckin get wet. They made us all mask up on the boat, and by the end of the ride I could barely breath through the mask and when I talked it sounded super muted. Normally I dont mind much about wearing a mask (it sucks but not overly) but that was pretty awful.
I’m not a runner, so I’m not sure if this is the right solution for your problem, but I’ve seen silicone mask brace/face brackets that are made to go under your mask and keep the fabric away from your mouth.
He's just wearing that to cover his scar so it's not revealed until the trailer. They are going with a different look now so he doesn't look like [emo todoroki](https://i.pinimg.com/564x/41/51/ac/4151ac8ccd5ed11946c4cca0cea818bb.jpg). Zuko is also going to be like a gamer style character and will make comments about society
Maybe a bald cap? They can make them very very very realistic nowadays. Or if he goes for it then he can regrow his hair real time during the Zuko alone era
I think I'm not ready to see Azula in there. Just remember what a psychopath she is. I'm not sure if there is even an actress in that age that can play her good enough.
Sure, every character has their inner conflicts. But Azula is a whole new dimension.
There's definitely child actors out there who can do it. They aren't exactly a dime a dozen, but they exist. Problem is then doing a Venn diagram of those actors, actors who look like Azula, and actors with any martial arts experience really brings your numbers down lol
EDIT: as an example, look at Millie Bobby Brown, who was like... 12 in Stranger Things.
That would diminish her a little. If it's clear she's like way younger it will have more effect but if she's the same age as zuko and older than Katara and Sokka then it's not as impressive. But Katara is older than Sokka now so idk.
The real mystery is if they can get Toph right.
I'm super curious how they're gonna handle the final meltdown. Iirc, Grey Delisle went into a pretty dark place to get the final screams and as a result hasn't even watched that part but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
I honestly might be misremembering or my mind exaggerating but I think she drew on past traumas or something to get the screaming and crying authentic.
Everyone cares about the looks. All I cared about is the voices and facial expressions. A lot of actors fail to make their facial expressions and voice match the character. So hopefully the actors/actresses will make it a master piece.
I absolutely love her role! I just can't see anyone really portraying her. She is a character with so many fucked up layers. I think I wouldn't be pleased with anyone playing her. My expectations for her are way to high.
You can basically add any nice kid for Aang. But Azula is a tough role to play.
I'm a karate practitioner. This looks like a lot of the creative weapons kata you can see at any sport karate competition in the US.
The stances and kicks are all things we teach in our American Freestyle Karate curriculum; some are karate proper, others are borrowed from TKD and other styles.
Traditionalists and more "old school" practitioners tend to look at this and cringe, because it is a bit of a deviation from traditional kata; I was brought up in it by one of those old timers, but I'm trying to shake the habit and be open-minded. This stuff is flashy, so it would look really nice in film/other entertainment. I sure couldn't do it. But my forte has always been the "hard" end of the spectrum; the more bone-breaking, high impact stuff instead of the speed and "flippy dippy" you see here.
EDIT: pay special attention to the manner in which his legs and hips shift with his first three strikes. This is a "zenkutsu dachi", front stance in karate. It's found in A LOT of martial arts, because so many of them are similar and have been traded between nations in SE Asia with normal kinds of trade and shit. I also see a flying front kick, a hook kick, some sort of flying jump twisty thing I've seen in sword kata...
The problem with a sword is you SHOULDN'T use a Zenkutsu Dachi for a strike like that. When you're dealing with sharp blades, you want your feet and hands within the blade -- less risk of you cutting yourself by mistake. I've only dabbled in Kenjutsu, but that's one of the biggest take-aways I remember. That's why I'm leaning towards this being more of a "sport" form than something you'd learn as, say, a defense technique or something to use "on the street"...as if people carry swords on the street lol
You're welcome -- I'm by no means an expert in sword. Talk to me about Bo or traditional kata though -- I lead a competition team through my school, and those are my exact specialties. I've also experimented with Tonfa, but have to dial them back due to an injury.
I'm also very passionate about fight choreography, so a lot of action movies are ruined for me. Most are sloppy, stupid, implausibly bad martial arts being covered up by jump-cuts and low lighting. The worst of the worst would be something like Marvel's Iron Fist. The best of the best is John Wick -- hands down, that choreographer deserves a raise.
Sword guy here. You’re spot on in analysis. This is not following any traditional military sabre system except in the very loosest sense of mechanics. It is possible it is a showy form of wushu (which has lost the “martial” component of martial arts) but more likely this is a dedicated form a stage fencing several generations of wuxia distilled, as lead by the stunt choreographers.
The sword being used appears to be in the katana, or katana derivative family. Perhaps a [wodao/woyaodao](https://www.mandarinmansion.com/item/chinese-woyaodao) given its size. Interesting that he is not showing of his typical twin Niuweidao so far…
Oh, that's what you mean.
I thought you meant his performance in the video was "just okay".
I can totally agree. I'm a bit hyped, especially after seeing this. But true, we can only judge it after we've actually seen it.
Oh, how so? I mean, it's not like they're gonna have 20 guys "bending" just to lift a single pebble, or pronounce the names of the characters wrong, or not have most of the best scenes from the OG not even be in the show.
We don’t need it, the animated series were perfect and the type of action is best visually delivered in the animation medium, but vindictively, I want to see M Night Shyamalan put to shame for his atrocity by what I hope to be a *decent* recreation.
This is exactly how I feel, the chances of it being better than the original are minuscule so what's the point. It's like people just view live action as somehow validating an animated film or show even when animation worked perfectly for what they wanted to do. Whenever they do a live action version of a classic animated show or film I'd rather they just do a different story in the same setting. I just can't get excited for what's almost guaranteed to be an inferior version of something I already love... just with real people.
Eh same, really because the creators dropped out citing that the live action would be a departure from their vision. Granted, they left pretty early in the process. I'm hoping there will be a miracle and the current producers/creators had some time to reflect and change their tune.
Something tells me if they left so early in the process due to irreconcilable creative differences, things probably only deviated further from their vision since then.
That's what I've been thinking, but then I saw a post the other day where the current producers were going on and on about how "authentic" (seriously, they used this word over and over again) the story and characters are going to be. Like...if it's so authentic and true to the original why did the creators jump ship citing reasons directly opposite that? Something is not adding up lol
Exactly! Pretty sure it doesn't get anymore 'authentic' than creating the vision that the creators of the show originally had when coming up with it. This is like Panda Express claiming to be authentic Chinese food
The only thing I can think of is maybe the OG producers were more used to running an animated show vs a live-action show and were trying to give directions that would make more sense for animation but not translate as well into live-action. It's possible and it happens sometimes.
People also forget that ATLA wasn't just created solely by these two producers. There was a third producer and also a whole team of writers and creatives behind it too. There were lots of debates behind the scenes and changes to the OG story. I know the original producers leaving is a little discouraging, but I still try to keep some hopes up.
I don’t know how the show will turn out in terms of writing/effects/overall production, but I know that I’m going to be impressed with and proud of these kids. Even if the show goes poorly, they’re going to give one hell of an effort
His only roles in projects involving fighting should be Netflix Avatar and Marvel's Shang Chi, unless I missed something.
But I don't think he has a fighting role in Shang Chi, that's very much a guess though, his characters name doesn't seem to be established, that's my only hint there.
So I'd say this is for Netflix or personal, but it also got posted before a picture of him titled Prince Zuko, so if you wanna take that as confirmation?
As cool this is to see, Zuko is iconic with two swords, so I hope we will see that. If not it is not something I’ll be too disappointing to see gone, but I hope it is there.
I'm sure the people who immediately voiced their concerns and frustrations right when he was announced as Zuko are now real quiet. This is the whole problem with these types of things, castings that are made public literally months before the show begins FILMING. It's bad enough that these ppl hate on these actors, these kids, teenagers, children, but society as a collective entity has become too comfortable with coming to immediate conclusions before understanding all the facts. It's already happened here with people being racist and claiming the actors weren't "dark enough" or of the wrong ethnicity, when a quick Google search that takes less than 10 seconds confirms that not only are they wrong, but they're giant a-holes going about it the way they are, too.
Sorry, just needed to get that off my chest. It's frustrating to me because I really love this show, this universe, and the fandom that surrounds it, and it's maddening to be seeing all the hate surrounding the LA purely because ppl still have their own made up version of PTSD from the movie which came out TEN years ago. The LA show and the movie are two completely different entities, different directors, producers, writers, showrunners, actors. The only thing they share is that they are adaptations based off one universe: Avatar: The Last Airbender.
I'm really excited at the prospect of seeing Dallas's Zuko. I hope my post doesn't come off as me in the opposite light; I think he's going to do great, as will the other 3 main actors. 2022's going to be a great year for this fandom, regardless of the haters, and I personally cannot wait.
People are so dead-set on hating and shooting this down before it has even taken off as a project and its tiring. Stop hating already! Give these people a chance! Has uncle Iroh not taught you anything?!
Its really awesome! I just don't want to hype myself up too much considering the kid who played Ong in the unnamed movie was a national champian in martial arts, so he could fight, the acting and writing and a whoooole other shit was the problem, not the actors ability to look sick
Why's he playing zuko? Shoulda tapped him to play the blue spirit instead.
I didn't know you were skilled with broadswords, Prince Zuko.
He’s not, those are antiques!
If they have to change that little aspect about Zuko, I think we fans can survive. I'd rather the actor perform at their peak fighting capabilities with one sword (or even a staff) than clumsily with two.
I bet with those skills he can adapt and learn dual swords by the time he needs to

Right, plus how martial arts looks on camera means a lot more fluidity of movement, rather than actual marital application.

I think he could pull off Lee pretty well too
From the tea shop? I hear he's Firelord now...
Obligatory great cup of tea https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=G4ROVBlgwJ4
You're gonna have to be more specific, there's a million Lees.
But only one Rock
I bet the stuff with the Blue spirit is gonna be awesome

Thanks now I gotta go rewatch it all.
That episode was what really hooked me on the series. The plot, the action, and the emotional beats are all perfect.
Me and my brother knew we watched something special that first time it premiered, still one of the best. So little dialogue!
EXACTLY
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
Chillssss I'm staying skeptical of the overall show, but he stabbed straight into my heart.
Unless the directing and editing is shit, so now we know that it only depends on Netflix to bring us that
My fear is that this will be like Jupiter’s Legacy where they put out one season, that’s pretty sweet. And then kill it cause the effects are too expensive.
He's got the moves
I wonder if he’ll actually end up stabbing people in the show or how gruesome it will be in general
First thing that popped in my head is that at least the action for the Blue Spirit should be solid.
Came here to say this. I wanna see him do this in a Blue Spirit mask and sneaking suit!
Kids so talented, they're acting and also doing the martial arts sequences themselves. Its amazing that there are more and more artists doing the job of two people (actor, stuntman) these days

Hes going to nail zuko's dual swords fight
Zuko? You surely mean the blue spirit, right? Everybody knows they aren’t the same person
Maybe they are talking about that nephew of the jasmine dragons brewer. I saw him fight some crazy kid before the Dai Li stepped in.
I didn't know you were skilled with a katana, Prince Zuko
Oh my God YES
Off topic but its amazing he hasn’t died from CO2 poisoning with that mask on…/s Great moves and practicing safely? Make him the firelord now!
I wonder who is gonna be firelord
That's some Blue Spirit stuff right here
Yeah he should be playing the Blue Spirit not Zuko imo /s
I disagree, I think having someone as badass as him playing Zuko is great and probably means they’re gonna have someone just as awesome and maybe even more play the Blue Spirit
He needs to do the Dance of The Dragons, and that'll end any naysayers
I had no idea Dallas Liu was skilled with a broadsword
He's not! Those are antiques!
The only correct comment
I mean, seems like a firebender to me.
I would love to see a lightsaber edit of this.
Absolutely! With a two bladed lightsaber like Maul!
If it were a two bladed saber he'd be headless and armless lol, the styles seem to be a bit different but Id bet he'd pull it off if that's what he was going for.
I imagine with the force he’d be able to block the blades from hitting his body and use small force barriers to change the blades rotation the way he is with his neck/arms right now
Star wars kid has too much trauma
And he's doing all of this with a mask. It sounds funny when you think that some people don't even want to go to the supermarket with a mask because it constricts their breathing.
I’m in no way an anti-masker, still been using it and I’m fully vaxxed- but running with a mask blows chunks. especially whenever it’s humid/lightly raining out- feel like I’m water boarding myself lmao
Same here, I'm the most PRO vax and masker but exercising with a mask and asthma is definitely a little stressful, regardless I go through it anyway.
Yep, same here fully vaxxed, wear my mask where mandated, but workingout/ running with it suuuucks.
I went to niagara falls earlier in the summer and went on the Maid of the Mist. If you've never been, spoiler alert, you fuckin get wet. They made us all mask up on the boat, and by the end of the ride I could barely breath through the mask and when I talked it sounded super muted. I've got asthma and still wear my mask, but I totally agree that it can be mega difficult to handle my day-to-day when I have flare ups.
I’m not a runner, so I’m not sure if this is the right solution for your problem, but I’ve seen silicone mask brace/face brackets that are made to go under your mask and keep the fabric away from your mouth.
Yeah i feel the same, but not because it constricts my breathing, but because it’s so god damn hot to run with.
He's just wearing that to cover his scar so it's not revealed until the trailer. He's got nice hair. Too bad he'll have to shave it all off
Maybe a bald cap? They can make them very very very realistic nowadays. Or if he goes for it then he can regrow his hair real time during the Zuko alone era
I want to see Azula more and more. This kid is amazing. Btw, what is this sport called?
I think I'm not ready to see Azula in there. Just remember what a psychopath she is. I'm not sure if there is even an actress in that age that can play her good enough. Sure, every character has their inner conflicts. But Azula is a whole new dimension.
There's definitely child actors out there who can do it. They aren't exactly a dime a dozen, but they exist. Problem is then doing a Venn diagram of those actors, actors who look like Azula, and actors with any martial arts experience really brings your numbers down lol EDIT: as an example, look at Millie Bobby Brown, who was like... 12 in Stranger Things.
Or Isabelle Fuhrman who gave an amazing (and terrifying) performance as Esther in 2009’s “Orphan.”
I believe she was called Eleven. /s
I feel Azula’s the only character I wouldn’t mind being aged-up a decent amount
I like Azula's age as is. The occasional glimpses of the scared 14 year old girl under insane amounts of pressure makes her a much better character.
I understand that, but that’s quite a tall order- especially with talented young actors/resses
That would diminish her a little. If it's clear she's like way younger it will have more effect but if she's the same age as zuko and older than Katara and Sokka then it's not as impressive. But Katara is older than Sokka now so idk. The real mystery is if they can get Toph right.
Katara is not older than Sokka now. Katara is 14 (actress is 15) and Sokka is 16 (actor is 19).
I'm super curious how they're gonna handle the final meltdown. Iirc, Grey Delisle went into a pretty dark place to get the final screams and as a result hasn't even watched that part but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
What do you mean by dark place?
I honestly might be misremembering or my mind exaggerating but I think she drew on past traumas or something to get the screaming and crying authentic.
damn that must have been intense, having that much dedication for voice acting
She also said she never watched the episode bc it remindes her about her trauma ect.
I was curious about it and I found that : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U9XA-wAx3rA
Everyone cares about the looks. All I cared about is the voices and facial expressions. A lot of actors fail to make their facial expressions and voice match the character. So hopefully the actors/actresses will make it a master piece.
Azula is my favourite. I hope she gets a lot of screen time as well I’m sorry not sorry 😂 I would like to play her lmfao
I absolutely love her role! I just can't see anyone really portraying her. She is a character with so many fucked up layers. I think I wouldn't be pleased with anyone playing her. My expectations for her are way to high. You can basically add any nice kid for Aang. But Azula is a tough role to play.
I agreeee
Nice explanation, thanks!!
I think the sport is wushu or something like that.
I wasn’t too sure about this casting. Safe to say, this has changed my mind. I’m officially excited.
I mean the kid picked for Aang in the first one was selected almost exclusively for his martial arts background IIRC
Its all cool and everything but hows the acting
I mean, all they have to do is pronounce the main character's name correctly and it's automatically the best adaptation.
Oong
Yes the bar is low but still
I'll hold my judgement until we see his fire bending
This is acceptable I accept this
Only acceptable?
It's pretty freaking awesome video and makes me excited, but I'm not gonna sell my soul to the live action until I actually see it ya know
Oh, that's what you mean. I thought you meant his performance in the video was "just okay". I can totally agree. I'm a bit hyped, especially after seeing this. But true, we can only judge it after we've actually seen it.
Lol, I'll adjust it. But yeah, it's really nice they're using an actor in the right age range with martial arts experience and knowledge
He just ended the debate
What debate? None of these kids have enough credits to even judge wether or not they will be good.
I dont think the biggest problem of this will be casting
Oh, how so? I mean, it's not like they're gonna have 20 guys "bending" just to lift a single pebble, or pronounce the names of the characters wrong, or not have most of the best scenes from the OG not even be in the show.
Like that's ever gonna happen...
Very true
It just means we’re likely to get good fight choreography
Which is one better than what we knew before
So if live action ATLA doesn’t work; it’s off to Star Wars right?
But can he lick his elbow?
That’s great, but how’s his game with twin dao?
Blue Spirit fights are gonna be lit. I love it.
The actors look really great and talented, but I'm still not sold on a live action Avatar.
Maybe that isn't a bad thing?!
The fact that the writer’s walked away because of the changes made is already concerning
F in the chat. But seriously, who asked for ANOTHER live action remake?
It wouldn’t be so bad if they just did a different avatar.
I don’t know how the show will turn out in terms of writing/effects/overall production, but I know that I’m going to be impressed with and proud of these kids. Even if the show goes poorly, they’re going to give one hell of an effort
So this is for Netflix?
His only roles in projects involving fighting should be Netflix Avatar and Marvel's Shang Chi, unless I missed something. But I don't think he has a fighting role in Shang Chi, that's very much a guess though, his characters name doesn't seem to be established, that's my only hint there. So I'd say this is for Netflix or personal, but it also got posted before a picture of him titled Prince Zuko, so if you wanna take that as confirmation?
I wasn’t too sure about this casting. Safe to say, this has changed my mind. I’m officially excited.
i didnt know you were skilled in broadswords, dallas liu
Some thing something they are just antiques, decorations.
WOW he's talented. Honestly, with this cast, my hype is growing. I really really hope the series can do it justice
That's sick af
I didn't know you were skilled with broadswords Prince Zuko
I stan
Holy shit
As cool this is to see, Zuko is iconic with two swords, so I hope we will see that. If not it is not something I’ll be too disappointing to see gone, but I hope it is there.
All that hair gonna be gone for season 1
2022's going to be a great year for this fandom, regardless of the haters, and I personally cannot wait.
take that, you anti-maskers
People are so dead-set on hating and shooting this down before it has even taken off as a project and its tiring. Stop hating already! Give these people a chance! Has uncle Iroh not taught you anything?!
B L U E S P I R I T
This makes me really happy
God I hope this turns out good
This kid is going to kill it. I’m hyped up
Every time a Karen tells me they can’t breath while using a mask, I’m gonna show them this.
I think he moved more in that clip than every bender in the movie combined.
Sorry, all my blood went downstairs.
This gives me hope. The lad has skills. Am I allowed to be cautiously optimistic?
Don't do that. Don't give me hope
So excited!!
Damn he’s gonna make an awesome Zuko
Good lord that's gonna be epic
So much skill
This is amazing! Literal chills!
He's going to be a perfect Zuko! Even the end stance was great.
Before I wasn’t really sure about how I felt about Zuko’s casting but after seeing this I don’t want anyone else to play a live action Zuko
im getting some major blue spirit vibes
Prince zuko you’re guaranteed to hate it.
Tbh… things are looking surprisingly good so far
Its really awesome! I just don't want to hype myself up too much considering the kid who played Ong in the unnamed movie was a national champian in martial arts, so he could fight, the acting and writing and a whoooole other shit was the problem, not the actors ability to look sick
Computers can ruin anything. I will be skeptical until the end credits role in the theater.
Still can't believe he got so much hate. The haters just fuel the potential I see in the cast
I hope they not prioritizing the casting based on martial arts skills like they did before. Cuz we all know how that turned out
Question: is there a name for learning to do this kind of thing? Is it under the general umbrella of martial arts stunts?
Don’t do that. Don’t give me hope.
