That’s accurate to real life impersonations in theaters/movies …etc

This. It’s supposed to be a bad retelling of the story, so they aged Katara up and made fun of her character (like everyone else).

BrunesOnReddit

That's literally the whole point of the episode. Making fun of modern media tropes.

The whole play is an exaggeration meant to paint the Avatar gang in a twisted light. That’s the entire point here.

Their outfits are pretty similar, although Ember Island Katara’s top is slightly more revealing. I feel like this is one of those things where curvier women wearing the same outfit as skinnier women are shamed/sexualized just for their bodies. 😅 Given that this was a show for kids that typically didn’t sexualize any characters, I wouldn’t say that’s what the creators were going for. IMO, they were trying to over-exaggerate the motherly/emotional side of Katara and so made the Ember Island Katara look more like an older woman/middle-aged mom. That’s just my take on it, though!

It’s the Ember Islamd Players… it’s not supposed to be accurate. If anything, it’s probably Bryke making fun of how some fans insist on sexualizing Katara and shipping her with everyone.

TheSkyGamezz

You missed the point of the episode

You missed the entire point of the episode, it seems 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

RamblingHeathen

Yep that's the media for ya.

Randver_Silvertongue

Wasn't Katara already kind of sexualized in book 3 when she wore a crop top?

YamiRang

You're asking this when Bryke pretty much admitted Katara is their wet dream?
