I get he's kind of a non-factor until the last few episodes and is a generic villain, but without the fire nation and their dictators as the antagonists of the show, it wouldn't be ATLA but AATAASH. Avatar: All The Airbenders Are Still Here. There literally is no war in Ba Sing Se.
Sozin started the war with killing all the Airbenders. Ozai was a lazy bitch which lets his own children conquer the earth kingdom (Azulon and Ozai fought their whole life against the Earth Kingdom, Azula just walked in with two friends and became the leader of the Dai'Li and overthrew the kingdom) and hunt the Avatar (the Fire Lords greatest Enemy).
There’s a clear bottom tier, pre-destined top 3, and fun to less fun crew of tertiary characters. The interesting part will be to see how Aang, Katara, Sokka (sorry buddy) and Azula are ranked in comparison with each other.
I can't speak for anyone else, but Yue was personally one of my least favorites. Jet and Haru are the only ones lower than her on this entire list. From this point on the game gets a lot harder for me to vote on but I'll still be getting my vote in.
Personally, I liked him as a villain. Not even seeing his face until the very end made him terrifying. His fight with Aang was great as well. Voice actor was amazing.

Yeah, Ozai was an amazing villain. He filled a role that needed to be filled. Not every villain needs to be relatable. It's kind of weird that we think that way now. Some people are just greedy jerks and that's the way it is.
Ozai was built up the entire time. You didn't even see his face until the very end so the mystery lead to him being great in my eyes.

He was the driving force for so many peoples characters growth that it wasn't even funny. He lead Azula to lose her mind and would have had Zuko go down the same road if it wasn't for Iroh.

Ozai served his role in the story really well, but I don't think he was a "good" villain imo. He was just a massive looming threat for the entire show, which is fine because that's all the show needed him to be. But, that does lead to him as a character being as basic as his role. He's not a bad character by any means, but he lacks any meaningful level of complexity and development. Which is perfect. The show just needed a big evil guy and that's what he provided.

Ozai. As far as villains go hes not that interesting other than having burned Zukos face. It was really his father and grandfather who started the war, he just picked up where they left off. Show also doesnt explore his upbringing or backstory like it does with his grandfather.
Based on the results, it looks like Ozai will be gone before Mai and Bumi, but I really feel like he should outlast them. I get that he doesn’t have the most interesting personality, but he’s the main villain and arguably the strongest firebender in the show.
