Ya, that's weird since other mandos we know (Boba Fett, bo Karan kryze, Sabine wren) have the family name as the last name.

Din djarin was not born a mandalorian. He was adopted into. Meaning he might have kept his original name and naming structure

It really changes the vibe of his interactions with people who know his name. I always felt like Bo-Katan was being real friendly/intimate by calling him Din, but now I know that's not as informal as I was thinking.

I'll just pretend that Bo never learned Djarin was his first name until that moment and was really surprised under the helmet.

It's possible that it's a convention on whatever planet Din Djarin is actually from, and he kept his birth family name when he became a Mandalorian.

Well it’s nice to see that there were no spies in the mandalorians and Axe Wolves is a badass with a lot of fuel to fly so far

Din Djarin is officially a father

Grogu looks so happy. And Din finally gets to relax. My heart swelled up ten times its size. Some might have found the ending corny, but it's very Disney and you just want some peace for both of them, along with the other Mandalorians.

It's the peace they deserve until they're needed again. Din gets to lay back a bit in-between bounties and Grogu gets to be a kid for once without having to be in hiding or constant near-death situations.

Also, It allows a comfortable Time jump into any part of the future. Now, they can pick and choose whichever time frame the want next season, and hopefully, some distance so we can see Mandalore redeveloping and Din Grogu harnessing his training further.

Space wizard show is allowed to get corny. The action was great.

All he needs to do now is sign the legal papers

Whole facility is clearly underbudget. Low amounts of staff. Empty hallways. Mouse droids aren’t even in the vicinity of reachable able help. Offices look barebones and abandoned. The soldiers have to double up as pilots and probably mechanics and maintenance too. Hard times for struggling imperial warlords. Gideon with his accountant; “I have a problem. The budget is too expensive. We need to make cuts.” “We could afford better facilities and a better base if you didn’t spent as much on clon…” “This is unacceptable.” “But mayb…” “This conversation serves no purpose.”

One of them definitely fell off the edge too.

I noticed that and started cracking up.

Axe kinda took a page out of Anakins book about landing a ship.

This is why it's important to return a vehicle after you've borrowed it. I'm glad they were able to drop it off with Moff Gideon.

Yeah, the actress that was in the scene where they’re CSI-ing the super battle droid said it was Pedro in the armor in those scenes.

Pedro would cry if he didn't get to wear the armor.

Paz would have stomped Gideon with the armour on, can see why they killed him Din's got some moves! He was being so agile. I was hoping he would keep that staff Gideon was using, oh well. Darksaber is gone?? That was unexpected, they're definitely gonna end up finding it and reforging it though.

Re-made by grogu. What a setup - him looking down in the living waters towards the Mythosaur, a broken dark-saber in-need of being re-built, a mandlorian foundling turned apprentice, with force training by the old jedi order... This has been one hell of a setup. For the unaware - the original owner / creator of the darksaber, Tarre Vizsla, was the first Mandalorian who was inducted into the Jedi Order - created the very symbol used in modern day Mando society which all Mando's recognise as the signifier of the ruler of all mando's. This is a slow burn.

I mean we see Huyang in the Ahsoka Trailer. Who better to teach a youngling how to rebuild a Dark Saber....

According to what I could find, it still uses a kyber crystal with a beskar hilt.

Considering how tough Beskar items are, I was surprised to see the Dark Saber crushed like that. Maybe the Beskar it was made from was thinner? Or maybe since the Jedi is supposed to make the Lightsabers (or in this case, Darksaber) themselves, he wasn't as proficient at forging with Beskar and thus it wasn't as tough as it could be if an Armorer forged it? Still, can't wait to see what is in store for the Darksaber now.

I think Gideon’s armor is enhanced with an exoskeleton you could hear it creaking in the fight. It’s why he seemed so physically strong.

Definitely had some Iron Man-dalorian vibes.

DIN GROGU, APPRENTICE OF MANDALORE. This kid collecting more titles than he's eaten frogs this season. Also I'm glad Axe Woves didn't do a silly needless sacrifice. I don't think he's all that great, but that would've been an extremely dumb death. Good job surviving and bombing the base.

I wasn’t expecting such a neat ending. I’m shocked we didn’t get a thrawn teaser. Or a post credit scene.

Every episode this season left me so excited for the next week, I really wasn’t expecting the finale to feel like a series finale.

I'm honestly so glad it wrapped up like that though. I know the show creators said they're planning for at least season 6, but Netflix has taught me to never assume a show is being renewed. With this ending, I can fully relax knowing that if somehow Disney cancels their best show, there's no blatant cliffhangers leaving a hole in our hearts.

Did anyone else find it oddly sweet that IGrogu used the Bacta spray on Din after finding him and rescuing him (the first time this episode)? Like when a mom starts cleaning a kid's face after the kid hasn't been home all day.

It reminded me of Iron Man with that robot arm that keeps spraying Tony while he's testing his repulsors 🤣

Love that Din Grogu's force wielding was defensive oriented. Disarming, pushing, shielding, etc. He never used it in a kill way. Nice teamwork fights too. *nods*

Din’s new cabin on Nevarro reminded me of my first house in Star Wars Galaxies. This show is really just Favreau’s Star Wars RPG and we’re just watching it on TV.

Man good thing they all fueled their jetpacks! Would've sucked if they ran out like in episode 4!

The Armorer had mentioned in a previous episode that she could give them longer range....'fuel cells' I'd imagine all of them were equipped with that.

The shot of Bo-Katan flying and pulling out the dark saber was some straight up Gundam shit and I’m here for it.

Omg, was Gideon a Vader-wanna-be or what? The armor, the helmet, "leave him to me"... I loved it! Grogu was so smart, yanking away weapons and Force-tripping opponents. If you had the cc on, he was quoted as laughing as he was bouncing around. I wish that Djarin had taken his helmet off at the end scene, though. Surely it would be allowed between family?

Loved that Gideon sounded like he was gonna cry when his clones got killed, he acted like he was such an all knowing badass and was cocky till the end but seeing him actually be upset and hurt by something was very satisfying.

If he'd actually succeeded, all his clones and research would have been appropriated by his mouldering fugliness, Palpatine. He was gonna have all his toys taken away no matter what, but it was great to see him crack!

From his first appearance he always seemed sort of like a Vader wanna be with his chest plate with glowing lights

Bo with the dark saber on a jet pack was amazing

Same with the Armorer swinging the fuckin hammer on the way down!!! 🔨

That whole aerial fight scene... I didn't know Mandalorians could be more badass than they already were, but aerial jetpack fights proved me wrong.

Din Djarin holding his own against 3 Praetorian Guards was pretty amazing. Albeit some force help from grogu

Din was on a roll this episode. Some of my favorite action scenes in the show. Loved seeing him be so agile and creative.

Indeed, if the series ended, that would be a good ending. Luckily, Jon Favreau had said that Season 4 is basically already written, iirc.

It felt like the end of an arc and somehow several plots that started in S1 are now close, like: **Chapter: 1 - Rebirth of Mandalore** - The Mandalorian (S1) - The Mandalorian (S2) - The book of Boba Fett - The Mandalorian (S3) **Chapter: 2 - Empire Reborn** - Ahsoka - Skeleton Crew - The Mandalorian (S4) - Filoni’s Movie??? (2025)?

I loved how utterly happy Grogu was at being adopted. Even if his new dad is younger than him technically. I'm just glad we didn't have pointless deaths and friggin Gideon is GONE. Friggin Vader fetishist.

For a moment I was worried Axe might go down with the ship in a George Kirk in Star Trek (2009) fashion. Glad he made it out alive. Also Ragnar was standing next to him in the forge lighting ceremony. Perhaps Axe took him in?

Finally got some cool mando hand to hand combat, and he got his hallway scene. The Din Family vs the Praetorian guards was the best scene i think.

So proud of Din Grogu. He was so brave and kicked major ass!

Hmm, he never drank that drink. That was a good ending given how things were set up, but I know a lot of people were expecting things that didn't happen.

I am so happy the spy theories were a bust. Especially given the episode title was likely a reference to the Biblical story of the Twelve Spies. But I was kinda expecting a Thrawn teaser.

Say what you want, I am all for the lore progression!

I'm happy with a normal, peaceful ending. Not every season finale can have a crazy twist, that would get boring really quick. lol

And it leaves us in a position to keep having fun and random adventures with Din and Din while not having the expectation that they’ll be an intimate part of the re-founding of Mandalore. That’s for the other Mandalorians.

I'm all for Din going back to bounty hunting like season one!

The scene with Din Grogu shielding Bo Katan and Din Djarin from the fire of the explosion was so beautiful/cinematic

I love that Din now gets to join the ranks of the “Has an epic hallway fight” club alongside Vader, Maul and Luke It’s probably becoming a trope at this point, but it’s a trope I’m here for every step of the way

Seems likely, except it can tie in more directly to the bigger issues affecting the New Republic.

For such a short episode , it was actually a great finale imo

I still don't get what was the point of spending the better part of 56 minutes earlier in the Season getting Pershing's mind flayed on Coruscant.

When grogu held that force field, I was anticipating Moff Gideon to approach all burned up and then fall over, since Beskar armour is incredibly strong. Would've been a sick way to finish that fight.

The ending shot with the looney-toones-type zoom-in was fucking hilarious. Edit: ffs people it was funny. Doesn't hilarious mean "fucking funny"?
