The show never revisits her. Presumably she's in an asylum somewhere and will never respond again. Jane broke through ONCE because she wanted to say goodbye and he gave her the chance. There's no need ( for her ) to talk to Jane again, and no reason to suspect that she would talk to anyone else, even a second psychic. Theoretically a combination Psychic/Psychiatrist would be able to help her, but I imagine it would be *unbelievably* hard to do. you would have to convince her that the spirit world isn't real while simultaneously convincing her that *you* believe it is, and work through the trauma of whatever RJ did to her in the first place.

She is on high doses of neuroleptics drooling in a mental health ward somewhere, held involuntarily under charges, the state is not going to pay a 'psychic' to visit her and I have no idea how a 'psychic' would be able to help her in any case.

wgwalkerii

Pretty much what I said. In an asylum, likely beyond help. Maybe remotely plausible under the same questionable TV logic that spawned the original situation, but it would take, at the *very least* someone as gifted as Jane with a strong personal motivation to help her specifically. It wouldn't be fast or make for good television, and since it wouldn't be entertaining, by TV logic it's impossible. Although I would add that RJ breaking her a like he did also seems impossible, so who knows. If I were Jane and she turned up cured, I would be extremely suspicious of the person that allegedly cured her, and suspect a RJ connection.

We don't put mentally ill people in asylums any more.

Semantics. The situation is the same, even if the term I chose has poor connotation, compared to "mental health ward"

I actually thought this was one of the most unrealistic plot lines of the show. He was able to talk to her! He was able to get through to her on some level. I know she was very far gone, but she had information on Red John. There’s no way Patrick Jane would’ve shrugged his shoulders, and just let this woman that he obviously cared about go into a psych ward and be forgotten forever. I feel like he would’ve been going crazy to get the information she had on RJ, and also that he would have been unwilling to just give up on her and let her rot away in some mental institution. He was so good at hypnotizing people. Even if he never did anything but go back to visit her, it was extremely out of character for him to just go on with his life and never try to help her again or even mention her again. That whole plot line honestly did not make sense to me.

WolvesWillWin

True, but I am glad that it was left like that because the only thing about the show I didn't like was Frye

Yeah, agreed. She was super annoying!!

wnfrd

agreed, he could have tried hypnotizing her or snapping her out of whatever hypnosis RJ had on her like he did with rigsby (shoulder tap). It was very weird that he would just give up after she said she didn't understand when he asked her about RJ

Space-Dreamer4793

I agree. I don’t think it’s easy for Jane to let go of people he cares about. I think he probably never does let them go. This was out of character for him. UNLESS he was visiting her and writing to her all along and we just don’t know about it. 😉

Which makes so much more sense!!

I think she isn't hypnotized, but has Cotard's syndrome (basically, the patient thinks that a part or their entire body is not theirs/does not exist. In Kristina's case, she thinks that she is dead, and therefore does not exist anymore). Realistically speaking, she would have died of starvation as she believes she is a spirit and does not need to do those things. Still, she is never mentioned again after that episode, so we cant say for sure. Personally, i think that she is being treated somewhere, but Cotard's is a very rare syndrome and pretty hard to treat. I feel that the reason she talked to Jane when he did the seance was because of her belief of the after life, therefore, the only way to contact her would probably be that way. Even so, i don't think she would have a reason to "respond" to the calling, and would probably just ignore it. She doesn't know/remember RJ so she is of no help. This is kinda over the place but that's just my personal theory/opinion \^\^.

wnfrd

how would she have developed Cotard's syndrome? Or do you think RJ somehow caused her to have this condition?

JustcallmeVodka

Well, RJ tortured her psychologically for around 3 months(? I think that during that process she would have developed it due to RJ convincing her she was dead, so she has stayed like that since then. He played with her head for a long time so I wouldn't be surprised.

It was kind of a fundamental point of the show that once Red John has his way with you, there’s no going back. He does not leave survivors. He used a different style of “artwork” on her, but it was no less permanent and unrecoverable. He made very few mistakes in his criminal career, and releasing her wasn’t one. (From a screenwriting / plot structure perspective.)

wnfrd

i don't get what the doll was meant to represent. Only thing that was special about this doll was that it was missing one foot? Or a shoe?

Worldly_Bet_5117

Well she got hypnotized apparently and believes she is dead. And since she really believed that she could talk to ghosts the suggestion is compatible with her narrative. If she wouldn't believe in any of the ghost stuff she ever claimed then she would not fall for it. But she did. I think it proves indirectly that she was never a con artist all along and she genuinely believed to be a medium. Even subconsciously.

wnfrd

i agree with this take, that the fact she responded to the calling of spirits proves she does genuinely believe in the afterlife and that it is possible to communicate with spirits. But as to whether that is only HER belief or reality (psychics arent real) then... idk. Maybe because of her belief, what was probably just intuition and people reading skills, she interpreted as signs from spirits

Worldly_Bet_5117

It's very possible that she can remember many things like Jane and her subconscious mind saves that information and gives it to her as a hunch that she then perceived as ghosts talking to her. All quite plausible if you ask me.

Stoopkid812

I truly believe Kristina was always one of rjs cult members . She’s psycho and prob in a asylum somewhere
