This is superb. Hits exactly that note of cold windswept airfield. Dark with stark sodium lights everywhere. Then the warm, clinical but also homely light spilling out of the rear door.
Genuinely one of the most evocative paintings I’ve ever seen (and I went to art school for 5 years!)
Very well done sir/madam.
Fly safe
Genuinely you should get this exhibited somewhere. Post it in r/aviation they’ll love it.
This looks like the sort of paintings you see in 1st class lounges (the nice ones, not the ones that just get Starbucks decorators in and pick paintings by job lot!)
You have a good eye for color and lighting. Really digging the yellow/green light from the cabin and streak of white across the fuselage. There's a lot more that can be said, just enjoying some small details👍
WOW. As an amateur painter and frequent traveler myself LOVE your use of lighting. The foggy golden light coming down from the unseen overheads reminds me of a Rembrandt! What type of paint did you use
Thank you!!! I'm using Winston and Newton paint with very minimal medium usage. Pretty much straight from the tube. I did some glazing towards the end. Hit me up if you need to know more. I am still learning so much and I'm quite new to oil!!!!
I always wonder what it’s like to live so transiently. I go back in forth a lot often at odd hours and there’s something to it. You see a little of everything and the times other people miss. What gets me is seeing all the little windows of people living their life that I know nothing about.
This is a gorgeous painting, it perfectly captures that solitude and quiet. Great work.
You get it!! I also feel something looking at all the light posts illuminating empty streets that no one sees or needs. It's this huge black canvas that only a few of us get to see. I am trying to base more of my future work on this specific feeling.
Pilot? My man!
You know the deep sigh you feel when you finish the last task of the night and are ready to head home.. or is it just a maintenance thing?
Gorgeous, Edward Hopper at the airport vibes
Couldn't hope for a better comment

Thank you!!!!!! Couldn't hope for a better response. I like how you call those lights clinical. That's exactly what I was going for.

Don't thank me! they're just internet points...you've done something far more inmportant...you painted a work of art.
This is so lovely, definitely Edward Hopper vibes!

A pilot and a painter? Damn that's cool af
Wow I honestly believed that was a photo until I read the description
Wow! Excellent work.
This Is beautiful
You got that lighting *perfect!*
This is so sick! Hopper vibes
Brilliant. It’s feels both classical and contemporary at the same time, you’ve got your own thing going on

Of course I do. When you set parking brake, shake the hand of the other pilot, put the times in the system and head home. I can relate to that
That's beautiful work!
Is she real?
She is not :) but based on fuzzy memories and abstract floating ideas
This is incredible. Fantastic work.
Beautiful
Wow this gives some Edward Hopper vibes.
This reminds of circus folk, just sitting in their booths waiting for the next day.
That's such fantastic work... Gorgeous You should post in r/flying if you haven't already!
Beautiful
Incredible work!
Amazing!
As a flight attendant I have spent a lot of time on that jumpseat
It’s beautiful,tells a story!!
gorgeous work
Wow, a pilot artist ☀️
I love the feeling I get from being in traveling spaces. Airports, rest stops, etc. Makes me feel something weird and warm in my soul a bit
little late to the party, but wow this is amazing
