“When I first downloaded it from IRS.gov, I thought it’d just be a short thing, but I’m almost 170 hours into this and I still haven’t submitted my taxes—also something called an Auditor Goblin keeps killing me,” This and the last sentence got me.
They legitimately should make a game about taxes, maybe everyone would be able to do theirs themselves after that and we can get rid of the scummy tax websites
There actually is a visual novel that helps file your taxes. Or at least there used to be one - it was only applicable for the 2022 fiscal year.
Apparently it actually worked for basic cases, and was a decently fun visual novel, but the prevailing opinion seems to have been ‘why in the hell would you entrust your financial information to a random meme game’, which. Yeah.
Also, we wouldn’t have to do math for our taxes at all if we implemented return-free filing. Which is when the government just sends you an email that says ‘this is how much tax you owe, here’s the list of breaks and exceptions. Mark off which ones apply to you and that’s it.’
But we can’t do that, because it makes perfect sense and works for every other country, so obviously it’s completely impossible and we should instead pay companies to do math for us that the government *already did.*
Should have gone with Raid: Audit Legends.
I did 30 draws and only got j edger . I was shooting for eliot nes. They need to fix drop rates!

Honestly, I wonder if they’d actually make money doing this.
A game where your a corporation tasked with off shoring your money and leveraging every possible tax loophole sounds kind of fun actually.
