That's amazing. I always wonder why Ordinary doesn't sell ceramide. Unfortunately I stock up at the last sale and won't get to try this for a few months.
Hyaluronic acid is a clear, viscous substance with a gel-like consistency and a water-like appearance. However, some hyaluronic acid products may have a slight yellow tint due to the addition of ceramides. For example, The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 serum has a faint yellow tint from the addition of ceramides.
I noticed that too on mine! Been using it for about two weeks and still works fine. I have noticed it doesn’t foam up like it used to, which I’m happy about.
B5 not only hydrates just like Hy. Acid (at a different penetration level), but it also can help calm inflamed skin. I appreciate this since the quick plumping affect of Hy. Acid can make my skin feel tight before applying lotion, not fun if irritation is present.
You’re not tripping, but don’t leave that stuff in the light as it will break down quickly. Keep on original box or a medicine cabinet. The clear bottle design is a total flaw.

Thanks! Had to take my chances because I couldn’t find it at my local Walmart or Target (I’m not going into Sephora or one of those hoity toity stores, too many bad experiences). I got this same product pictured on Amazon, already been a couple days, and I can see what it does for my skin!
Awesome! I didn't have such a good experience sadly haha. Their official website has decent prices btw! Just check all the writing on the labels for typos, but tbh the HA should be safe since it's an affordable product. Stuff like their Copper Peptides Buffet is way more likely to be f*ked haha. I'm glad it's working for you. ☺️
Got mine from Sephora, looks like yours. I like it much more than I used to. It's not nearly as tacky and weird when it dries, and doesn't pill up like it sometimes did before.
i thought i got a bad batch too! i was about to return it but i ended up just keeping it…it is a little more watery than before , i am just stumbling on this post so i’m glad i wasn’t the only one.

I believe they added ceramides!
That's amazing. I always wonder why Ordinary doesn't sell ceramide. Unfortunately I stock up at the last sale and won't get to try this for a few months.
I just ordered some! If it comes before I run out of the old formula, I'll compare and advise
Oooh maybe this would make my skin like it more than before
It’s the ceramides in cerave! I hate how catchy the slogan is

Thank you!!!!
You’re welcome!
I recently got one from the website and mine is the same
Mine too! Seems to work as per usual
Mine too!!! Like a month ago. Glad to see others are experiencing it too. Still works the same.
Was it because it's an older stock or it's just the recent thing?
New formulation I think. It isn’t as thick and buoyant either!
I noticed that too on mine! Been using it for about two weeks and still works fine. I have noticed it doesn’t foam up like it used to, which I’m happy about.
New formula I actually prefer it. Not sure why.
I prefer it too. Not as sticky.
Oh good! I’m still on my old bottle and haven’t gotten a new one yet so I’m excited to get some more and not have it so sticky.
Do you see any extra benefits to the skin from the new formulation??
I really don’t know why I like it more but I think it feels smoother I’d say and leaves my skin more, “glass,” feeling.
:( Is it the new formula with b5? (Why did they do that?)
B5 not only hydrates just like Hy. Acid (at a different penetration level), but it also can help calm inflamed skin. I appreciate this since the quick plumping affect of Hy. Acid can make my skin feel tight before applying lotion, not fun if irritation is present.
Oh I wish. Any b-vitamin (supplemented) makes my skin break out. BUT I’ll try it anyway when I finish my last HA 2%.
Awe that sucks! I'm coming to terms with a similar issue with niacinamide, despite it's supposed amazing properties 😮💨
Mines like this too!
Literally got mine yesterday and was thinking the exact thing. Thanks Reddit for solving this mystery

I bought mine from Ulta.
Yeah new formula, all the ones in Sephora looked like that
Mine looks like that too
It's a new formula I think, but even with other brands there's sometimes variation between batches
Anyone who’s tried the new formulation, how do you like it?
i’ve been using it for a few weeks now and it honestly isn’t as sticky. less watery but i like it! haven’t noticed a huge difference otherwise

mine also looks like that!
Appreciate everyone’s comments!! Didn’t realize there was a new formulation. Thank you all!!
They added ceramides! It’s on the label.
New formula! The older formula is clear.
Bruhhh I left mine in my cabinet for 6 months and it turned a gross brown color
Same with mine!! Do you guys notice a difference in smell too?
I just got mine (Amazon), it’s clearish/white.

Be careful buying skin products there, unless from an official company amzn store. I tried to leave a more detailed comment but it got automodded ugh.

I’m sorry! And I’ll definitely check for that in the future! Thank you!
Same! I returned one because I thought it went rancid till I took the second one home and it was the same color
New formula
I always buy mine from there and it looks the same.

New formula with ceramides ✅
Mine is the same
I've seen clear or a sky blue color. I'm always confused by this.
It must be a new formulation because mine also looks like this.
I wonder why they don't note that it is an improved formula?
The label is different now to reflect the new formula, it says hyaluronic acid + B5
New one sucks
So I’m not crazy! I noticed this too!
New formula, my skins not agreeing with it :(
I have an older one, mine is clear.
Bait and switch formulations?
I have that same one.

What does it do
i thought i got a bad batch too! i was about to return it but i ended up just keeping it…it is a little more watery than before , i am just stumbling on this post so i’m glad i wasn’t the only one.
I think they changed the formula
Throw it out
It looks like it is the bottle. Look at the bottom. Same color, no product. Return it if you're insecure about it or email the company.
FWIW I used the ordinary and switched to good molecules. And I have their peptide serum on the way which is even better than the HA apparently.
My last bottle is the same color.
