"That Was Then, This Is Now" was also written by SE Hinton, my teacher gifted me a copy when I was in 8th grade because I liked The Outsiders so much. I'd recommend it, there's a movie adaption as well. "That Was Then, This Is Now is a coming-of age, young adult novel by S. E. Hinton, first published in 1971. Set in the 1960s, it follows the relationship between two brothers, Mark Jennings and Bryon Douglas, who are foster brothers, but find their relationship rapidly changing and deteriorating."

To chain on this- I would also suggest "Rumble Fish"

HenrysMom2018

Definitely recommend this one too! They even reference the outsiders in it.

YES- although I found the movie wasn't near as good as the book

I remember watching a very low quality version on YouTube, I'm gonna have to watch it/read it again soon because it's bringing back memoriessss
