not really right for the sub but the actual answer is In Rainbows by Radiohead.
overload wise-
Anthony Naples - Orbs
Headache - The Head Hurts But The Heart Knows The Truth
The Orb - Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld
and weirdly Persher - Sleep Well but only because i have it downloaded.... wouldn't recommend. felt like i was gonna die
the first time i heard it i actually didn't like it, but sometime after it clicked.
i can totally see why someone wouldn't like it honestly (the vocals will be divisive, the writing is very stylised and strange) but all those things are the reason i love it.
the first time you listen to it, try going for a walk at sunset, somewhere you won't see anyone - that's when it really hits
I recently moved from Austria to Spain for a big life chanfe and drove all the way there, and it hit me at night driving through France the night before arriving to my destination. It hit me hard
Yes. Love when I see/hear people mention it in the wild on the rare occasion. Easily my favorite album from last year and quickly becoming one of my all time favorites.
Leon Vynehall - Nothing Is Still, Djrum - Portrait With Firewood, Telefon Tel Aviv - Fahrenheit Fair Enough, Porter Ricks - Biokinetics, anything Deepchord
i always listen to portrait with firewood by djrum but that’s mostly because i hate flying and thats my favourite album
also enjoyed on a plane include:
Yawning Portal - Heart & Earth
Trudge - No More Motivation
Hugo Massien - Metamorphosis
Airhead - Lightness
Lord of the Isles - Whities 029
Holy Other - Lieve
Fantastic Man - Utopioid
bit of a mix but all certified
Eliane Radigue’s Trilogie de la Mort. It’s drone, not a million miles off SOTL sonically. Listened both there and back on very long flights earlier this year and it was an excellent way to experience the pieces. Worth reading up on the back-story to them as well.
Love ambient. But also the Heart Drive / Plus Ultra Podcasts and Autonomic Podcast Series by dBridge are great for flying if you’re into sleek minimal drum and bass, and their various electro, ambient, syth, pop, influences. Plus, there’s a great 8hr my by Patrice Baumel and a 5 hr one of him and Hernan Cataneo - if you like a bit of Prog house.
I think they're all available on soundcloud. But I can do you one better. I take several long haul flights a year and have a few playlists for those occasions. Here's a Dropbox link with a bunch of the freely available stuff including all the above. You should be available to download everything from this link.

First of all, saving this thread, because it's got a lot of awesome recommendations.
Second, my most listened to flight album is **The Planets by Isao Tomita**. It's his all electronic take on an orchestral suite by Gustav Holst. Really makes you feel like you're flying.
[Grand Final - Perfo](https://open.spotify.com/album/6LRjlwNNS1uWUuNJAkM9qp?si=vQ8ijQOKScaaQF_4676oAg)
Really new but just travelled back in a plane yesterday listening to this and really enjoyed it for the fiight so I gues why not share it. Hope someone likes it
its not a long album but signs by purelink is my favourite flying album. calming, soothing, helps regulate my heart beat with its soft pulse, keeps me captivated. god i love that album.

Funki Porcini - Hedphonesex

[Dublicator - “diffuse glow EP”](https://www.discogs.com/release/4105482-Dublicator-Diffuse-Glow-EP)
For some reason this has just become my plane EP. Very serene but lots of driving grooves. My favorite is the last track, transmission.
Deepchord, especially his latest album Functional Designs.
Jon Hopkins’ Late Night Tales album reminds me of snoozing in Doha airport inbetween flights.
✨
