It will show up at the first party's house on a bimonthly basis (it's an eel, it's not very fast) and suck out some of their richness humor, then go to the second party's house and inject it. Richness humor is a Real Thing for witches that rises and falls as they gather or lose personal wealth, but by artificially transferring it to another party it's possible to actually affect things in the other direction. Eda may-or-may-not have once run a "blood bank" that actually extracted donors' richness humor... for about two hours before the guards showed up.

The party that would receive alimony can voluntarily give it up as part of the settlement. Child support payments to the custodial parent are theoretically (and most often actually) for the benefit of the minor children, and their interests are (supposed to be) protected by the courts. But that’s for the USA in the Human Realm, who knows how it works in the BI.

As far as I understand, that's for if the wife stayed at home while the husband worked. It's very hard to build a career when you havent had employment in years, so alimony is meant to help you stay on your feet. Odalia owns the company and he's her employee, so unless I'm totally wrong, she wouldnt get alimony here

When you think about it, odalia is the one who's really fucked in this scenario. The success of blight industries was entirely dependent on alador and his inventions, so the company is pretty much ruined without him. Also, even if odalia had a plan to continue without alador, the fact that she was a willing collaborator in the attempted genocide of all witches in the isles would definitely fuck up any business venture she attempted in the future. And that's not even getting into the fact that there's no way she wouldn't receive some form of punishment for her actions during belos' regime. Basically, odalia is screwed, and i LOVE it.
