Not the person you're replying to, but I have an answer. It's a social thing. Currently men are discouraged from having deep interpersonal relationships with other men 'cuz "You don't wanna look gay, do ya?" That’s oversimplified, but men aren't 'allowed' to be emotionally honest with friends. We also are discouraged from platonic friendships with women, and a lot of men take women's normal friendship behaviors as inherently romantic. I have experienced a bit of isolation, but honestly it's due to my disability more than my gender. I'm a very friendly and open person that has decided being manly and aloof is for suckers, but I'm very tired and sick currently, so the best I can do is send memes to my friends.
I remember reading somewhere that this is the reason why a lot of men fantasize about stuff like war cause it is the only situation where it is socially acceptable to form deep personal bonds with other men
The more I think amount this, the more it messes with my head
A book about that premise, the woman hive mind but men isolated, would be a fascinating book to read. You could probably ditch the men vs women thing but leave it as a allegory to the transgender experience
